Chapter 1821

Nathan and Penny made their way out of Sunshine Club and got into the sedan.

Colin got into the driver's seat.

The Elite Eight climbed into the two Audis behind them, and all three cars set off slowly but surely.

Penny finally let out a sigh of relief next to Nathan.

She couldn't help but turn to Nathan and say, "Tonight has been full of frightening events. To think two scions of Brimmopolis would fight it out so fiercely over a club hostess! One of them could have died!

"What were they even thinking, anyway, getting into a fight over a club hostess?"

Nathan smiled at her. "Things aren't as simple as they seem.

"Recently, Mr. Davier and Mr. Lucas have been locked in a tussle over the presidential election. While their father fights it out on the political stage, their sons are bound to engage in a little bit of fighting as well.

"Even without this incident with the club hostess, I daresay they would probably start a fight over something else in the future anyway."

Penny looked rather stunned. "I didn't think the competition between Mr. Lucas and Mr. Davier was so fierce. Their rivalry has spilled over to their sons!"

"It isn't only their sons," Nathan said calmly. "Everyone and every business in Brimmopolis will feel the effects of their power struggle. "Even I won't be able to avoid it.

"Do you know why Young Mr. Lucas invited me out for drinks tonight?"

Instinctively, Penny enthused, "Because he looks up to you, and his father enjoys a good relationship with you! Isn't that why he decided to invite you to his drinking party?"

Nathan laughed at her naivety. "Mr. Lucas is Mr. Windsor's loyal subordinate. Naturally, my relationship with his family is a cordial one.

"However, Corey's reasons for inviting me to his drinking party tonight are not just because of that.

"If my suspicions are right, his father was probably the one who put him up to it."

Penny gasped in shock. "Mr. Lucas is the most important member of the Great Cab, and you're the God of War!"

"If he wanted to treat you to drinks, why couldn't he have done it himself instead of sending his son as his representative?"

Nathan smiled. “Because Mr. Lucas wanted to see where my political alliances lie and wanted to get me to support him fully as the next president." "However, he can't say those things himself, so he got his son to do so on his behalf instead.”

Penny looked at him, stunned.

Here, the smile disappeared from Nathan's face. In a rather somber tone, he said, "Of course, I understand perfectly if Mr. Lucas wants my support. "However, Corey's actions tonight were rather questionable."

Penny looked rather confused again. Stuttering slightly, she asked, "Hubby, didn't Corey treat you very politely tonight? What about his actions being questionable?"

"He knew perfectly well that it was Ceaser Goldstein's birthday tonight, and he knew that Ceaser was holding his birthday party at Sunshine Club," Nathan said calmly.

"However, Corey still decided to invite me to have drinks with him there!"

Realization dawned on Penny

instantly. Do you mean to say that Corey decided to stir up trouble for Ceaser purposely, knowing that Ceaser couldn't go overboard with yout around?"

Nathan replied, "You know that Corey booked

Barbara for tonight, don't you. But do you know who he hired her to entertain?"

Penny shook her head. "Nope, I don't."

Nathan replied, "He booked Barbara for me. She was supposed to be entertaining me tonight."

A look of fury appeared on Penny's face.

However, she couldn't help but look at Nathan in confusion. Why was he telling her about this?

Didn't he know it would only make her feel awkward?

Nathan continued, “Actually, Leaser is one of Barbara's loyal patrons. He always asks for her whenever he comes to drink at Sunshine Club.

"Since he knew that Leaser would be holding his birthday party at Sunshine Club, Corey was certain that Leaser would ask for Barbara again.

"However, he purposely booked Barbara for tonight to get her to entertain me instead."

Hearing this, Penny looked stunned.

"Hubby, do you mean to say that

Corey purposely stirred up trouble to

start a fight between you and

Ceaser? Did he want you to go up against Ceaser in a fight?"

"What would he get out of that?"

Blandly, Nathan replied, "If I'd gotten into a fight with Ceaser, the Davier family would harbor a murderous grudge against me. I'll hence be forced to support the other camp in the election -Mr. Lucas's camp."
