Salute To The General -
Chapter 1883
Chapter 1883
That night, Colin and the Elite Eight who were in the army base in the North received an order in private from the temporary commander-in-chief there, Fang, to set out for Brimmopolis immediately to meet up and safeguard their General.
The mission came as a pleasant surprise for them, given that they had spent the past few days worrying day and night about the wellbeing of the General and their futures.
They were told that the General had been appointed as the Chief Military Governor and that they could continue to stay by his side as his dependable guards.
Excitement welled up within Colin and the Elite Eight, and they spared no time at all to get going.
Before the sun had even risen the next day, they boarded a plane to Brimmopolis and eventually arrived at the Red Hotel while keeping a low profile. The next morning, when Nathan stepped out of his hotel room, he was immediately greeted by Colin and the members of the Elite Eight. Though they were casually dressed and looked slightly disheveled, bright smiles were plastered on their faces, and from their eyes, one could tell that they were genuinely happy.
Whoosh!
They saluted to Nathan in unison. "Sir!"
Their cheerful voices brought Nathan back to his senses. Taking a good look at the group standing before him, Nathan felt rather touched and said, "How did you guys come here from the
North this fast?"
Colin replied, "We miss you very much, and we've also been really worried that nobody is with you to protect your safety, so we got here as quickly as we could."
Nathan patted Colin's shoulder and turned to the others. "This is what brothers are for, huh?"
Grinning from ear to ear, Colin laughed, "Sir, we can't be happier to fight alongside you again!"
Nathan nodded. "I can't be more glad to have you guys as my soldiers too! Prepare yourselves. We'll take off after breakfast. First, we're flying to Channing, then back to the North."
Colin saluted once more. "Yes, sir!"
And so, Nathan, Colin, and Elite Eight began digging into their breakfasts at the same table.
Colin and those of the Elite Eight were nervous but delighted to have breakfast with Nathan.
It was truly a great honor, now that Nathan was not only the General but also the Chief Military Governor of Eurasia!
Just a meal alone with him would be a good story that they could boast about for the rest of their lives.
After breakfast, the group often got going. In a formation of one sedan surrounded by three armored SUVs, they left the city area and sped toward the Metro Brimmopolis Airport.
As they entered the metropolitan area, the roads became more and more empty.
After their formation of cars crossed
a certain highway intersection, a few shady-looking men immediately popped up and placed a huge
l
roadblock with the signage saying "road work ahead, no entry" behind them.
At the same time, one of them whipped out a walkie-talkie and said in a low voice, "Sir, our target is approaching you. We have sealed off the road as planned. There won't be any hindrances coming our way. Please proceed."
A few kilometers away from the highway intersection, Apocalypse, who stood planted strongly to the ground in his dark cloak and jet black boots, pursed his lips. "Good!"
Turning around, he stared at his
Demon Troopers with a determined
look and roared, "The God of War of Eurasia is almost here! Prepare yourselves. We are killing a god today!"
Killing a god?
The two hundred members of the Demon troopers who were standing there exchanged eager looks.
What an honor it is! To be the ones who defeat the God of War of Eurasia!
The Demon Troopers tightened their grips on their sub-machine guns and swords, ready for battle.
On the other hand, Apocalypse stood high on a hill, the wind blowing harshly against him as he gazed into the distance.
Even from far away, he could see the dark clouds looming over the horizon. Jets of lightning darted across the ominous skies, accompanied by the muffled sounds of thunder.
Evidently, a storm was about to hit.
With the streaks of lightning being reflected in his eyes, Apocalypse smiled cruelly and cackled, "Hah... Let the storm rage on!"
