Salute To The General
Chapter 1884

Chapter 1884

Meanwhile, Nathan sat in the backseat of his sedan as their convoy of cars moved forward with speed.

His eyes were closed as he wobbled about due to the bumps on the road along the way. No one could tell for sure if he was asleep or simply meditating.

Behind the sedan, three armored SUVs followed closely.

All of a sudden, Nathan opened his eyes sharply and uttered calmly, "Something is wrong."

Colin, who was in the front seat, frowned and turned to look at Nathan. "Sir, what's wrong?" he asked.

"Our trip has been going too smoothly. Look at

how quiet the roads are!"

Upon hearing Nathan's words, Colin and Trinity, who were driving, widened their eyes.

They were both experienced fighters and knew that the most silent, unassuming corners of the forest were where the fiercest beasts would hide. Similarly, on the battlefields, the place where the enemy would do an ambush would also be eerily quiet.

Nathan peered through the car window and asked, "How long has it been since we have last come across any of the other cars?"

Colin gave Trinity a look.

"Sir, we have been the only cars on the road for at least ten kilometers!" Trinity answered.

Nathan furrowed his brows. "This is the road to the Metro Brimmopolis Airport. There should be more cars. This is not right."

"There might be road works ahead?" Colin suggested.

Nathan's eyes darkened, and he simply said, "Tell everyone not to let their guards down! Prepare for any danger!" "Yes, sir!"

Colin promptly relayed the message to the men in the three cars behind them via the walkie-talkie in the car.

All of their car windows were immediately shut tight and their convoy pressed forward with caution.

Moments later, they finally entered the stretch of the road where the Demon Troopers stood by.

Apocalypse, who stood atop the hill along with some of his subordinates, had already spotted the convoy approaching them through his binoculars. Turning to a subordinate, he said coldly, "Landmines have been planted on the road, right? We'll blow them up once they drive near!" "Yes, sir!"

Apocalypse and his subordinates kept their eyes on Nathan's convoy as they slowly neared the position of the landmines.

Thump! Thump! Thump! His heart palpitated as the sedan's front wheels made contact with the site where the landmines were planted.

Now's the moment!

One of the Demon Troopers swiftly pressed the button on his detonator.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A deafening blast sounded.

However, after the smoke dissipated, Apocalypse and his man froze the moment their eyes landed on the sedan.

Instead of being blown into pieces, the sedan was simply blasted half a meter up in the air before making a heavy landing back down on the road, still intact.

To their surprise and horror, the landmines did not do much harm to the exterior or interior of the car at all.

The soldiers of the Demon Troopers all widened their eyes in confusion.

Is that a car, or a tank?

Swearing under his breath,

Apocalypse's expression turned

grim. "We were too hasty and careless. I had underestimated the vehicle that he would ride. I can't believe that this brat is in a commander-exclusive sedan even after being dismissed from the position of Commander-In-Chief of the North Army. That sedan over there weighs three tons and is equipped with a special shield that can endure bullets and explosions. There is no way that our plan to ambush them with landmines is going to work."

His subordinates finally wrapped their heads around the situation upon hearing his words.

So Nathan is in a car built for commanders? It is no wonder that even the landmines couldn't damage it!

Apocalypse squinted his eyes and

laughed coldly, "Things are still in my

favor. I would much prefer to cut his

head off personally rather than blow his car up in a boring way. After all, сабир it's more

fun to play with all

who resists, isn't it? On my count, we

shall proceed with the attack!"

Back on the highway, though the sedan was still intact, its engines had been seriously damaged.

In the sedan, Colin shook his head frantically to fight his nausea and yelled into the walkie-talkie, "We've been attacked! I repeat, we've been attacked! Everybody, get battle-ready! Octo, I want you to report how many enemies you see!"

In the armored SUV furthest behind them, Octo whipped out a bulky black suitcase and initiated the infrared detection device.

As he analyzed the display screen, he replied to Colin in a distraught manner. "We have been

surrounded! About two hundred

enemies have been detected. Also, I see two teams of men on stand-by a thousand and two hundred meters in our three o'clock direction and nine hundred meters in our nine o'clock direction. They are very likely to be snipers!"

As Colin listened on, he also opened a black suitcase, revealing weapon parts.

Putting together a sniper rifle, he gave his command. "I'll take care of the snipers. You guys shall tackle the rest!"
