Why is Director Donnovan is so protective of Nathan?

Meanwhile, Nathan, Penny, the teachers, and those from the Ministry of Education were standing at the door of the discipline office, looking out at the school field. They witnessed the pitiful couple standing under the hot sun.

Yaacob politely probed, "Mr. Cross, since everything's in order, should I send both of you home first?"

Given his tone, Xenia and Zac looked at Nathan curiously and wondered who the man really was.

Based on their records, Nathan was merely a security guard, so why would Director Donnovan be this polite to him?

At that moment, Nathan felt the heat from those curious stares.

However, he did not want to reveal Penny and his identities. If he did, the teachers and students would treat Queenie differently, which would go against his intentions of setting up this transfer in the first place.

At first, Yaacob was worried that Nathan would hate him for this issue too.

But since Nathan had willingly accepted his offer, he was overjoyed that the former was not angry with him.

Immediately, he ordered his chauffeur to drive the car over.

While waiting for the car to arrive, Nathan took the opportunity while everyone was not paying attention to tell Yaacob, "Be careful not to reveal my identity to others. If anyone asks about it, you can tell them that you owed me one in the past."

As Nathan climbed onto the car with Penny, Nathan turned to Yaacob again. "Your chauffeur can send us back alone, and you don't have to come with us."

The director of the Ministry of Education nodded repeatedly, "Yes, Mr. Cross. Please take care."

Following that, the car drove off, slowly disappearing from their sight.

At that time, the discipline master, Zac, boldly asked Yaacob, “Director Donnovan, who is Mr. Cross? Why do you have to show him so much respect?"

Everyone around them curiously looked on for his response.

Yaacob glanced at Zac before answering, "Mr. Cross saved my life, so I owed him one."

The people present were surprised to hear that.

They already knew that Nathan was.
