Salute To The General
Chapter 2086

Chapter 2086

As Nathan was departing the compound, he passed by a casket shop. "She really picked a good spot. Just enough caskets for her and her people." Nathan said.

Colin led the Elite Eight to meet Nathan. "Sir, we have prepared the cars," he said in a low voice.

“Let's get out of here quick and get Mrs. Cross to a hospital.”

"No rush," said Nathan.

He examined the caskets for sale. His eye fell onto a heavy black one. "This one is pretty good."

Colin and his men looked on in confusion.

A casket is still a casket no matter how good it is. What does he mean by a good casket?

"Sir," Colin said tentatively. "This is a casket made of scented rosewood. It's expensive but fitting for aristocrats and people of high social status." "Good." Nathan nodded. "Pay for this and send it to Clifford Davier. Tell him it's a gift from me."

Colin and the men were startled.

This is an act of war! The Chief Military Governor is picking a fight with the Secretary of the Great Cab!

It was not the place of Colin and the others to say things like that out loud.

"Yes, sir. Right away."

"One more thing. Select another batch of caskets for the key members of the Davier family, especially Valois and his ilk. Make sure

everybody gets one." "And finally, deliver a message for me. Tell them I am giving them one month to cease their influence in politics and the military. If they do, they shall live."

This is to force the Daviers to retire from the sceneslAnd bar them from entering politics and the military. Does that mean that the current Cab Secretary must resign from his post? Would the Daviers agree to it?

"Sir," Colin whispered. "The Daviers still have no idea that you are the Chief Military Governor.

Even if they do, they most likely will not accept your terms to bow out anyway."

"I've already given them the

opportunity to repent. The

consequences are theirs to bear."

Nathan was cold in his

admonishment. "If they are no\

in wiping out the Davier family."

He's really angered this time, determined to kill the Daviers.

"Yes sir, I understand." Colin saluted.

With his wife still in his arms, he exited the casket store and got into his sedan. With Colin and the Elite Eight acting as escorts, they sent Nathan on his way.

As they were leaving, the noise of

guns crackled down from behind the casket store. The Felidae Battalion was fulfilling the order given by the Chief Military Governor- to execute death by firing squad.

The moon was round and bright like a porcelain dish.

Cold moonlight streamed into the yard of the

Davier residence. It glided and settled onto the lawn like snow.

The dark and massive casket dominated the scene. It was further surrounded by smaller, commoner caskets.

The Daviers were infuriated upon the sight of a sea of caskets.

"Who did this?" Clifford Davier roared.

Valois looked an angry purple. "Nathan sent them. His men beat up our sentries, deposited the caskets, and left swiftly after leaving some words behind."

Clifford was livid. "Him again! He dares to invade me in my home! What else did he say?"

"Nathan said that the behavior of the members of our family has crossed his line. He's giving us a month to retire from the scenes, be it political, business, or the military."

"But if we don't comply..."

Clifford's face was set like steel with a grim and determined look. "So what if we Daviers don't comply?"

"He said if we don't, he will wipe our names from existence."

"Very well. Very well indeed!" Clifford snapped.
