Salute To The General -
Chapter 2164
Chapter 2164
The next day.
It was a bright and sunny day.
A hundred countries' naval fleets gathered for that rehearsal, and it was grand.
Navies from all those countries got into different groups to accomplish different missions while at sea. They were practicing in case an actual war broke out.
Nathan led Eurasia's naval team and the mission they were assigned was to travel to a certain island and defeat the fake pirates on said island.
His naval fleet consisted of a few warships, and they braved the ocean to leave their headquarters in Avenport.
Simone waited until Nathan and the Dragon Warriors had left. After that, Simone turned to his country's powerful allies, which were represented by Nakajima, Reno, and Catherine. He said, “Nathan is leading Eurasia's fleet, and his mission is to eradicate the pirates. Our team will play the role of those pirates, and we will go to our designated area to fight against Nathan's fleet. Alright, now let's get ready and head to our designated spots to play this game with Eurasia's team."
Nakajima exclaimed, "Hell yeah! Let's go."
Reno rubbed his hands together in anticipation. He had already discussed the matter with Simone, and during the practice, his crew would pretend to make a mistake and blow Eurasia's fleet up. We'll send Nathan straight to Hell!
Catherine didn't know what Simone and the others had planned, but she knew that those men were up to no good.
Simone and the others probably kept me in the dark about how they're going to go after Nathan because they saw me getting closer to the guy
The truth, however, was that she wasn't worried about Nathan at all.
Last night, she told him that Clifford was hiding on a secluded island in the ocean.
Hence, Nathan wasn't leading the Dragon Warriors to the practice site at all. They were going after Clifford.
At that moment, under the bright sky and on the ocean, Nathan was standing on the deck and looking ahead via a pair of binoculars.
He instructed his men, "Full speed ahead, boys. I want to reach Clifford's island before night falls,
and I want his lair flattened!"
"Understood, general," replied Colin and the others.
On the Demon's Island.
The Demon Corp was running smoothly in the underground facility on the island.
Every department was working efficiently.
A hundred floors beneath the ground, at the headquarters of Demon Corp.
Clifford was sitting in the chair and throwing a tantrum.
Lyle and the others all had their heads down while Clifford reprimanded them.
Clifford shouted angrily, "What a
bunch of useless trash! Why do you even call Killer Clown the best assassin on the Demon's Island? He traveled all the way to Eurasia and barely caused a ripple before Nathan killed him off. What's the point of me paying you idiots?"
None of the essential members of the Demon Corp dared to say anything.
Lyle steeled himself up and promised, “I cannot deny my responsibility in choosing the wrong assassin. To make up for it, I volunteer to lead a team of experts to head over to Eurasia and kill Nathan."
Clifford narrowed his eyes and asked, "Are you being serious?"
Lyle announced loudly, "Yes, I am. Give me a week. I promise that I will bring Nathan Cross in for you."
Hearing those words put a grin on Clifford's face.
He was about to say something when they heard a click, and the entire place went dark.
Everyone on site instantly panicked.
The facility had its own power source, and the electricity wouldn't be cut off unless an incredibly skilled hacker got into their system.
Clifford turned furious again, and he demanded, "What's going on?"
Lyle was stumped as well. Nothing similar had ever happened before.
He quickly reassured, "Calm down. It's probably just a malfunction in the system, I will have the
maintenance department and the hackerdepartment investigate the matter. They'll fix the issue right away."
He had just finished speaking when everyone heard another click. All the lights turned back on, and the place was well-illuminated.
Clifford was still sitting in his seat. Lyle and the other key members of the Demon Corp were stunned once more. Why are the lights suddenly back on again?
Just then, Clifford noticed that there was an additional guest in his office.
The guy was wearing Eurasia's military outfit. He had beautiful eyes and was a handsome man wearing a skin-deep grin.
Nathan Cross!
Clifford was so surprised that he almost jumped. He blurted, "Nathan Cross... Y-You... When did you get in here?"
That's right!
The mysterious guy who showed up when the lights turned back on was Nathan.
He was sitting on the chair at that
moment and was staring at the flabbergasted Clifford. The former chuckled and said, "We meet again, Clifford. You know, I was worried that someone might've given me some fake intel, so seeing you here and now really calms me down."
Fear and surprise donned Clifford's face. He called out, “Have him surrounded right away, and get everyone else to gather here!"
