Fear-stricken by the scene, Rattlesnake widened his eyes at Nathan before yelling, "How dare you lay a finger on my men! Do you know how many more men I have under my command? If you cross me, I'll make sure you regret the day you were born!"

"You still don't get it, do you?" Colin stepped forward and slapped Rattlesnake so hard that he sent the man tumbling backward.

Before Rattlesnake could react, Colin smacked something onto the man's face.

What the heck did he cover my face with?

"You think you're all that just because you have a few hundred men? Why don't you take a good look at this before threatening us again," scoffed Colin.

Instinctively, Rattlesnake removed the item from his face and realized it was a red military ID.

In it was a photo of Colin in a military officer uniform, as well as his rank and position in the army.

Rattlesnake dropped his jaw when he saw the title "Colonel" in the document.

Like a statue, the man completely froze in place.

What? This guy is a senior military officer?

"Do you think you have enough men to overpower mine? You only have a few hundred, while I have a few million. So what's it going to be? Do you want to try your luck?" taunted Colin.

Terrified, Rattlesnake immediately fell to his knees and started crying. "Please forgive me, sir! I'm nothing compared to you and your forces. I was wrong, and I apologize."

Colin then retreated behind Nathan and snorted, "Don't apologize to me for I'm only a colonel. You should apologize to my superior here instead. Just so you know, he also happens to be Amos' superior." After listening to Colin, Rattlesnake stared at Nathan in utter disbelief.

What? Does that man outrank a colonel at such a young age? Does that mean he's a general? If that's the case, he probably comes from an esteemed family!

The thought alone was enough to send shivers down the man's spine, so he crawled over to beg Nathan, "Please, good sir! I know I was wrong, and I promise I'll never make the same mistake again. All I ask is that you give me a chance to turn over a new leaf."

"What did I tell you to do just now?" asked Nathan rhetorically.

Immediately, Rattlesnake was reminded of what he had to do, so he crawled over to Amos and wiped the man's shoes clean with his sleeve.

After that, he lowered his head onto the ground and apologized sincerely to Amos. "Please forgive my ignorance, Mr. Bale. If I have offended you in any way, I ask for your forgiveness. I know I've made a big mistake, but I promise I won't repeat it."

Since Rattlesnake had always been an arrogant man, Amos never imagined that he would see the day when the man knelt before him and begged for forgiveness.

After glancing at Nathan, Amos was suddenly filled with overwhelming confidence. "I have no problem forgiving you, but what can you do about the amount I owe you?"

"You only borrowed thirty thousand from me, and you paid me back fifty thousand, so we're even now. In fact, I'll return the extra amount you have paid me."

"That's not necessary. You can either consider the extra twenty thousand as interest or compensation for your medical fees. If you want, you can also consider it as my thank you for making it possible for my girlfriend to have the surgery."

However, Rattlesnake thought that the money was far from enough to cover his medical expenses but dared not to express it out loud.

"Thank you for your kindness, Mr. Bale. I'm forever in your debt," uttered Rattlesnake as he repeatedly bowed before Amos.

"Now get out of my sight!" ordered the veteran after regaining his confidence somehow.

Before long, Rattlesnake's men arrived to help their boss and their brothers-in-arms leave the scene.

Amos then turned to give Nathan, Colin, and the Elite Eight a nod of appreciation. "You all have helped me a great deal today, and I don't think I can ever thank you enough."

"General, didn't you hear that Little Amos here has got himself a girlfriend already? The only place that we should go is his house so that he can introduce us to this mystery woman," teased Colin playfully. "Oh, right! Of course!"

Amos' eyes immediately sparkled with bliss when his girlfriend was mentioned. "That's even better! I'll have Amelia whip something up for us, and we can enjoy my beer stash together."
