Chapter 2294

The next day, Nathan boarded a public airline with Penny, Colin, and Ava to secretly head to Jetroina. They arrived at the Jazona Airport in the evening.

When Nathan and Penny exited the airport, Colin and Ava followed them but kept a distance. Apart from protecting Nathan and Penny, Colin and Ava wished to give them some personal space. Suddenly, a nicely dressed man came up to Nathan and Penny. He was seemingly star-struck and talking in a foreign language while looking at

Penny.

As such, Nathan and Penny were bewildered.

Noticing that they didn't understand him, the man talked in the language of Eurasia. "Are you from Eurasia?"

Nathan replied, "Yes, we are. How can we help you?"

Ignoring Nathan, the man handed over a card to Penny and said smilingly, "Hi, pretty lady. I'm also Eurasian, but I'm currently running an entertainment company in Jetroina. I own the company, and I'm also a talent agent.

"You've got the looks and a figure that most women would die for. I wonder if you're interested in becoming a star? If you're willing to join our company, I promise to make you an international superstar."

After a while, Penny responded, "I'm so sorry. I'm not interested in your offer. However, I do think you look familiar..."

As Penny spoke, she looked at the name written on the card. The next moment, she gasped, "You're Layton Gates. Your house is just next to mine when we were young!"

Layton was startled upon hearing it.

Nonetheless, he soon recognized Penny and replied in surprise, "You're Penny Smith!"

Penny replied with a smile, "Yes, what a coincidence. We used to be neighbors when we were young. However, you went overseas with your family before finishing your elementary education. That's why we haven't met for about twenty years. I never expected to bump into you here."

After checking Penny out for a moment, Layton said with a grin across his face, "This is indeed a coincidence! Perhaps fate has allowed us to meet again!"

Somehow, Penny could feel that Layton was casting weird glances at her. Besides, she could tell that he was hinting at something. The next moment, she grabbed Nathan's hand and said, "I forgot to introduce you to my husband, Nathan Cross. Hubby, this is Layton Gates, my neighbor when I was young."

Nathan nodded slightly upon hearing it.

The delight on Layton's face faded away as soon as he heard that Penny was married.

However, Layton wasn't going to give up easily.

After all, he could still sabotage their relationship even though Penny was married.

It would be much more fun to seduce someone's wife!

Furthermore, his so-called entertainment company was only producing short films thus far.

If Penny became the actress under his company, he thought she could potentially become his cash cow.

After the thought flashed through his mind, Layton purposely scrutinized Nathan from head to toe and asked, "I wonder what Mr. Cross does?"

Nathan glanced at Layton and answered, "I'm military personnel."

Slightly shocked, Layton replied, "You're a soldier? Can you make money out of it?"

Despite being the Chief Military Governor, Nathan's salary was worth that much after deducting the basic insurance.

Layton's eyes were filled with disdain when he said mockingly, "Oh, how sad! I mean, I can't even pay for my dinner with a mere seven thousand!

"No offense, but can you provide a comfortable life to Penny with such a meager salary?

"After all, a branded bag for women would cost your entire salary."

Unperturbed, Nathan said coldly, "Money cannot measure love. Besides, it can't decide whether we truly live happier lives."

Layton argued, "That's just your thought. I think Penny won't want to suffer with you. Since she's an outstanding woman, she deserves to choose a better life."

Then, he turned to Penny and continued, "Penny, you don't have to suffer with him. Join my company, and I'll turn you into an international superstar. By then, you'll have money and live your dream life." When he took out his car key and pressed the button, beeping sounds were heard from a car parked by the roadside.

It was a BMW 5 series.

Layton opened the door and gestured for Penny to get in while grinning.

"Penny, please get in. Why suffer with him when you can drive a luxury car? Be with me, and I'll give you everything you want."

Right at that moment, eighteen black cars arrived. The first car was a Rolls-Royce of limited edition, whereas the rest were Bentleys. Layton and the pedestrians were shocked by the eye-catching and luxurious convoy.

Much to Layton's surprise, the convoy stopped before Nathan and Penny. After that, 36 men in suits hopped out quickly and bowed before Nathan. "Welcome, Mr. Cross. Please get in."

At that moment, Layton almost fell on his knees out of shock.

His eyes widened in great horror at the inconceivable scene before him.

After a while, Nathan smiled and said, "Mr. Gates, I guess your car isn't that much of a luxury car, eh? And trust me, Penny won't suffer when she's with me. On the contrary, I'd suggest you take care of yourself." Then, Nathan said to Penny, "Honey, let's go!"

Penny instantly replied, "Sure!"

With that, Nathan, Penny, Colin, and Ava got into the cars.

While most of the men in suits hopped in, some came up to Layton with fierce looks on their faces.

Feeling terrified, Layton asked, "What are you trying to do?"

One of them said coldly, "Mr. Cross is our boss' boss. How dare you be rude to his wife? You must have a death wish!"

Shivering in fear, Layton replied, "May... I k-know who your boss is?"

"He is the Lone Star!"

What?Is he referring to Tim Teaman, the man who comes from Eurasia and has single-handedly fought his way to become a prominent figure in the underworld of JetroinafHow is it possible that Nathan is his boss? The man in a suit said coldly, "Well, I'm sure you know who you messed with now. Guys, cripple him!"

The next moment, someone threw a kick at Layton's private part.

With that, Layton howled in pain, "Arghhh!"
