Salute To The General
Chapter 2295

As the convoy was moving steadily, Penny felt slightly nervous. After a while, she whispered to Nathan. "Hubby, who are they?"

Nathan replied calmly, "They are Tim's subordinates!"

Feeling bewildered, Penny asked, "Who is Tim?"

Nathan responded, "Tim Teaman. He used to be one of my subordinates in the North Army and performed outstandingly on battlefields."

Now, Penny finally understood why they respected Nathan so much.

Their boss used to be Nathan's subordinate!

However, doubt began to grow again in Penny's mind. If Tim Yeaman was once Nathan's subordinate and was outstanding on the battlefields, why did he leave the army? All the more so, why did he leave his country and come to Jetroina instead?

As Penny was deep in thought, Nathan said with a tinge of sadness, "Tim is a rare talent in the army.

"Unfortunately, he doesn't have a happy childhood. His mom passed away following his birth, and his dad died soon after.

"As such, his grandpa, grandma, uncle, and other relatives accused him of being a jinx, hence his nickname-Lone Star. They even claimed that his family and friends would die because of him."

Penny frowned upon hearing it. "How superstitious!"

Nathan added, "Tim Teaman was disliked by his relatives. In the end, his maternal grandma and grandpa adopted him. However, both of them passed away in an accident a few years later."

While Penny's eyes widened in disbelief, Nathan continued calmly, "Hence, Tim has been very independent ever since he was young. With the assistance provided by some welfare organizations, he successfully graduated from junior high school. However, he remained aloof and refused to make friends. Deep down, he was worried that anyone close to him would die. Eventually, a monk told him that becoming a soldier could change his fate. Hence, he decided to join the army and became part of the North Army."

Feeling fascinated by the story about Tim, Penny asked curiously, "In that case, he had become successful after joining the army and had a lot of achievements. Besides, I'm sure that he had a lot of comrades in the army. Why did he leave the army and the country, and come to this place?"

Nathan heaved a sigh and said, "The rumor about the Lone Star has imprinted on his mind since he was young. As such, he firmly believes that he is the Lone Star. In other words, he is destined to live alone, for those who are close to him will eventually die. "It's true that he trained hard in the army and became brothers with his comrades.

"However, the more he participated in military actions, the more his comrades sacrificed. Hence, he eventually broke down a few years later.

"He blamed himself for bringing bad luck and killing his comrades.

"Later, the military doctor diagnosed that he had post-traumatic stress disorder and wasn't fit to be a soldier."

Penny furrowed her eyebrows after listening to it. She understood that some soldiers suffered from PTSD due to working in high-pressure environments, such as intensive training and battles. Some of the symptoms included becoming autistic, agitated, and even violent. Many professional soldiers had to face the challenges to a certain extent. Some could alleviate the symptoms and recover after seeking treatment from psychiatrists. However, some couldn't escape from it for the rest of their lives.

After coming to her senses, Penny whispered, "Is that why he left the army?"

Nathan nodded in response. "Yes.

After that, he left Eurasia and came to Jetroina alone. Surprisingly, he made a name for himself in the underworld of Jetroina and established an organization called War Dragon Chamber. Anyway, I've informed him of my schedule in Jetroina in advance, and thus he sent his subordinates to pick me up!"

Penny muttered, "Oh, I see!"

Just then, the convoy pulled over.

Then, a man in a suit opened the door said politely, "Sir, Madam, we've arrived. Please get down."

Colin and Ava hopped out from another car right after Nathan and Penny got off.

They realized that the building in front of them was the headquarters of the War Dragon Chamber.

Surprisingly, it looked like a temple that enshrined many statues of gods.

Tim thought he was responsible for the deaths of his family members and friends. That was why he worshipped a lot of gods.

Besides, he even had a lot of tattoos of gods all over his body, hoping to lessen the likelihood of bringing bad luck to others.
