Salute To The General -
Chapter 2374
Kylie was confused. "This is so lame. I'm not interested in this game."
"You're not interested or are you afraid of facing the result? Don't tell me you're afraid he will end up choosing my glass of lemon water?" "Who said I'm afraid?" Kylie was vexed.
Danielle drummed her fingers on the table. "Good. Then it's a bet!"
Kylie wanted to turn her down, but Nathan was already on his way back.
"He's coming. I'll move aside first,"
Danielle whispered.
With that said, she left and stood at another corner.
Nathan was surprised when he saw two drinks on the table. "I thought you were taking away your drink?"
Shifting restlessly, she replied, "The vibe here is kinda good. We should just finish our drinks here."
She glanced at the two glasses and then at Nathan. "I ordered ahead.
Which one do you want?" "Me?"
Nathan sat back down and looked at the two glasses.
He reached for the lemon water. "I thought you said you wanted coffee? I'll have this then."
Kylie turned pale. "I don't mind, actually. I just want to know which one you prefer."
"I'll take this. I'm not a coffee person since I can't take caffeine," Nathan insisted, picking up the lemon water.
Kylie was so upset she almost cried.
Dang it! I lost!
The thought of Nathan and Danielle hitting it right off the bat made her anxious.
At that moment, Nathan spotted the faint lipstick mark on the glass.
Don't tell me she drank from this glass already?
He took a quick look at Kylie and saw her expression.
Don't tell me she wanted this. No wonder she looks so nervous when I wanted the lemon water. Seriously. She should just tell me that she wants this. Why does she have to make me choose? Nathan put down the glass of lemon water in his hand and took the coffee instead. "Actually, I'll have the coffee. I don't like lemon water anyway."
What?
Kylie was taken aback when he changed his mind, but she was happy he did.
"Really? You really want coffee?"
"Yeah."
See! I knew Danielle and he would not work out. I won!
Kylie whipped her head toward
Danielle, but to her surprise, the latter was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, her phone screen lighted up with a message notification.
She clicked on it and read the message from Danielle.
I was just pulling your leg, Kylie. You should have seen your face just now. It's obvious that you like him, so you should follow your heart. This is my advice to you as your bestie. Besides, there's only so much I can do for you. Kylie stared at the text, dumbfounded..
Damn it, Danielle!
Kylie sighed.
I know I should follow my heart, Danielle, but he's someone I can only love from afar.
Kylie brushed the thought off and sipped from her glass as Nathan and she relaxed at the table.
Unbeknownst to them, a sniper rifle was pointed at Kylie from the rooftop of the building right opposite the cafe.
It was none other than Marshall. He had successfully located Nathan.
