Feeling both fearful and furious, Hellish Assassin exclaimed, "Why can't you let me off?"

Nathan replied placidly, "When you came to kill me, haven't you considered the possibility that you might end up getting killed instead? If you don't want to die, tell me who the person who sent you is. If you come clean, I might consider sparing your life." When Hellish Assassin heard that, his expression underwent a series of changes.

If he told Nathan who his employer was, Nathan might spare his life.

However, if the Quillen family knew that he had betrayed them, they would definitely not let him off!

Hellish Assassin gritted his teeth and pretended to give in. He said in a soft voice, "Okay then. I'll tell you who sent me here to kill you. Listen carefully, he is..."

Assassin shrieked in agony. When he tried to kill Nathan back in the villa, his right hand was already sliced off by Nathan's Snowsphere. With his left hand broken as well, the man's hands were completely paralyzed. "I'm gonna kill you!"

Just like an injured beast, the assassin let out a furious howl before launching a kick toward Nathan's head.

The movement of his leg was as quick as lightning.

With that, the man coughed out a mouthful of blood and collapsed to the ground.

Nathan replied coldly, "That's all right. In Eurasia, there's nothing I can't replace out by myself!"

Hellish Assassin's eyes widened before his head tilted to one side as he breathed his last breath.

No one knew if he had widened his eyes because he did not believe that Nathan was capable of replaceing out the truth or because he was unable to rest in peace.

Nathan tried to call Colin, but no one picked up.

Colin must have passed out from Hellish Assassin's drug.

At once, he made a second call to Sage, who was at the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor, instructing him to send someone over to take care of the body as well as to investigate who the employer of Hellish Assassin was.

After knowing that an assassination attempt was made on the Chief Military Governor, Sage was shocked and furious at the same time. However, he had also guessed that it was the Quillen family who was behind it. "Don't worry, sir. I'll look into it immediately," the man answered before continuing, "On top of that, I think we should also have more people protect you. How does that sound to you, sir?

Nathan replied placidly, "There's no need for that. If it's someone capable of killing me, no matter how many men you send to protect me, it would still be useless."

Even though Sage held a different opinion, he had no choice but to comply with the Chief Military Governor's wishes.

When Nathan returned to the villa, the first thing he did was to check on Colin and the two servants, who were staying on the first floor.

From the way Colin lay on the ground, he had most likely discovered something amiss. However, it was also possible that he had already inhaled a substantial amount of the harmful substance and was not able to react in time. Nathan was aware that the drug had a similar effect as sleeping pills.

Inhaling the substance would merely knock one out for a few hours but would not put one's life in danger. As such, Nathan did not bother to wake the man up and carried him to the bed instead, knowing that he would wake up once the effect of the drug wore off. After that, he visited the two servants in the housekeepers' room.

Seeing that the two of them were sleeping soundly on the bed, Nathan shut the door and headed to Kylie's room on the second floor.

When no one answered after he knocked on the door a few times, Nathan broke the door lock with his fists and entered the room.

Even though the bedroom lights were still on, Kylie was nowhere in sight.

However, he heard water sounds coming from the attached bathroom. There was even water seeping out through the gap between the door of the bathroom and the floor. In fact, there was already a sizeable pool of water accumulated on the floor outside the bathroom. Shocked, Nathan called out to Kylie at once. However, there was no reply from the woman.

Nathan proceeded to kick open the bathroom door at once and saw that water was overflowing from the bathtub. In fact, water was still gushing out from the tap.

Kylie, who was still wearing her dress, was lying motionlessly next to the bathtub.

Nathan was scared senseless at the scene and started yelling Kylie's name hysterically before rushing forward at lightning speed, pulling her up from the floor. Kylie's face had lost all color, and she was unconscious.

Unable to detect the woman's breathing, Nathan immediately felt for her pulse and noticed that it was extremely weak.

Thankfully, she's not deadyet'. That means that she can still be saved!
