Salute To The General
Chapter 2568

Nathan laughed. "Mr. Gammon, since you think of us as friends, there's no need to address me as Chief Cross. Please call me by my name."

"All right," Gammon exclaimed with a chuckle. "I'll refer to you as Mr. Cross then."

"May I know the reason for your call?" Nathan asked curiously.

"Ah, here's why I called you. You see, amongst all my daughters, Sofie is my youngest. In fact, the two of you met before, though I'm not sure if you still recall the encounter," Gammon explained.

Sofie? The name rings a bell. She must be Gammon's favorite daughter. In the past, I met her at the Remdik Palace. "Of course, I remember her. Mr.

Gammon, your daughter's intelligence and wittiness left me with a lasting impression," Nathan said.

"I actually called you to talk about Sofie," Gammon said.

"What's the matter?" Nathan questioned in earnest.

"Recently, she has been planning to fly abroad for her studies. Initially, she deliberated between Ariarica and Eurasia. But after meeting you, she grew curious about Eurasia. Hence, she chose to continue her studies there." Here, Gammon paused before he continued, "She's planning to go to Channing University. According to her schedule, she should be arriving at Channing Airport today."

With a shocked tone, Nathan asked, "What? Princess Sofie wants to study in Eurasia? She even enrolled in Channing University? Have you contacted the relevant departments here? Should I let the education department know and instruct them to pick up Princess Sofie?" "There's no need for that!" Gammon blurted out in a hurry. "I don't wish for my children to leverage on my status. Besides, I have many enemies plotting my demise. I prefer to keep my children's identities a secret when they are abroad. This way, I can prevent any danger from befalling them. Chief Cross, please don't contact Eurasia's departments. Instead, please treat her as an ordinary exchange student from Remdik."

"All right. I understand," Nathan replied.

"Anyway, this is Sofie's first time going abroad for her studies. I'm afraid that she'd have trouble adapting to Eurasia's environment. Hence, I wanted to ask for your help to look after my daughter," Gammon added.

Nathan chuckled. "Coincidentally, I reside in Channing too. Channing University is only a few minutes away from my residence," he replied good-naturedly. "How about this? If Princess- Ms. Sofie doesn't mind, she can spend the weekend at my place. I'll instruct my family and subordinates to keep a close eye on her to ensure her safety."

Gammon was ecstatic to hear Nathan's offer.

Deep down, Gammon knew Sofie like the back of his hand. Not only did she choose Eurasia to continue her studies, she even picked Channing University, a rather modest school in terms of its academic rankings. It was obvious that Nathan was the sole reason behind her decisions.

His daughter was at the adolescent age where she had her admiring sights set on Nathan.

Ever since Sofie met Nathan in person, his regal bearing charmed her to no end. As a result, she picked Eurasia over Ariarica.

This is the best possible outcome! Not only did Nathan agree to look after Sofie, he even offered to let her stay the weekend. Besides, I'm sure she will be safe at his place. "Sofie wouldn't mind. On the contrary, she will be delighted," Gammon replied with a bright beam. "Thank you for your generous offer, Mr. Cross. I'll be leaving her in your hands then. I owe you one."

"There's no need for you to repay the favor." Nathan smiled. "Mr. Gammon, please send me Ms. Sofie's flight schedule and contact number. I will be there to pick her up from her flight when she lands." "Sure."

After their phone call ended,

Gammon quickly sent the details that Nathan asked for earlier.

After checking the time, Nathan realized that Sofie's flight would be landing at Channing soon.

In haste, he shot to his feet and informed the rest of his family to continue their meal without him. With that, Nathan and Colin set off to pick Sofie up.
