Salute To The General
Chapter 2733

While Gammon was barking out orders in anger, Goliath, who was grievously injured, began rampaging through the crowd. Just like a wounded beast, he viciously killed some of the Alpha soldiers before turning around to flee. "Don't let him escape!"

When one of the Remdik officers bellowed, many Alpha soldiers aimed their guns at Goliath's back.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Peppered by a massive hail of bullets in his back, Goliath stumbled for a couple of steps.

However, the damage from the bullets wasn't enough to take down a werewolf as powerful as he was. After staggering a short distance, he darted into the darkness and vanished into thin air.

"Quick! Go after him, and gun him down!"

Hordes of Remdik soldiers ruthlessly gave chase.

At that moment, the whirring of descending armed helicopters could be heard. Reinforcements had finally arrived.

Nathan, together with Gammon, got into the helicopter with their respective guards, then flew back to the Red Palace. Inside the palace, Gammon's wife was chatting with Penny over coffee.

It wasn't until both of them heard the sudden commotion outside that they learned of Nathan and Gammon's return. Upon his arrival at the Red Palace, Gammon headed straight to the royal chambers to wash up.

His wife hurried after him to assist, leaving Nathan and Penny alone in the reception hall.

Baffled, Penny asked softly, "Why did you guys come back so early? Also, what happened to Mr. Gammon?" Nathan simply explained that an accident had occurred during the hunt, and fortunately, no one got hurt.

As he didn't get into the details, Penny didn't probe any further.

Soon, Gammon emerged after taking a bath and getting a fresh change of clothes.

Even though he was still reeling from anger, Gammon was filled with gratitude at the sight of Nathan and hurried over to express it. "Mr. Cross, I can't thank you enough for what happened. If you hadn't lent a hand to rescue me, the President of Remdik would have died at the filthy claws of weredogs!"

"Wercdogs" was a derogatory name those from Adrune had given to the werewolves.

Gammon's use of the term clearly demonstrated his hatred for them and rage over what had happened that night.

Feeling bad, Nathan explained, "Mr. Gammon, there's no need to thank me. The attackers tonight were likely sent to attack me, and it was I who dragged you into this instead."

Gammon waved his hand. "This isn't your fault at all. It must be caused by the dastardly countries who are used to humiliating Remdik and Eurasia. And now, they must be jealous that our nations are working closely together. Every time they see us collaborating, they will definitely attempt to throw a spanner in the works. Their intention is to sow discord between our countries and break the strong cooperation we share. However, those are nothing but fantasies at their end because I'll never let them succeed."

Nathan nodded. "As long as our countries are allied with each other, we will be able to guarantee world peace."

After both of them chatted for a while longer, Gammon got to his feet. "It's getting late. Both you and Mrs. Cross should get some rest. I still have some work to do, so both of you will have to excuse me."

Nathan stood up. "All right. We'll be retiring for the evening, Mr.

Gammon."

With that, Nathan and Penny returned to their temporary lodging.

While doing so, Nathan was cognizant that rivers of blood would be spilled that night.

Considering that Remdik had always been a militaristic society and the fact that Gammon had ruled with an iron fist, Nathan reckoned that Gammon would not take the attack orchestrated by Ariarica lying down and would mobilize his men to cleanse the nation of werewolves.
