Salute To The General
Chapter 3095

Nathan and the others left the Curia on the same day.

The next day, Eugene IV made a public declaration that Queenie was not an ideal candidate for the future Holy Maiden because she was not a disciple of the Curia.

Subsequently, he handpicked a devoted young lady named Alicia from Salinsburgh and officially announced she was the next Holy Maiden.

The moment the news was out, it shocked many believers of the Curia, but they were happy about it.

They were displeased with Queenie because she was an Aplothian and did not believe in the Curia.

When the multitudes learned that Eugene IV would select a new successor for the Holy Maiden, they were over the moon. The people were ready to celebrate when they heard that the position had gone to Alicia, a famous and beautiful disciple from Salinsburgh. While everyone from the Curia was celebrating gleefully, a funeral was taking place in Zehntausende Mountain Range, Pandera, where the largest werewolf clan resided.

Raytor, the alpha wolf, had just buried his son, Kaiden.

He sat on this throne in despair as he clenched two sharp wolf fangs in his hand.

Those were left behind by Kaiden, his beloved son.

According to the customs practiced by the werewolves, members of the tribe would pluck out the fangs of the werewolf who had lost his life in a battle right before the funeral.

The fangs were kept as a memento to remind the family members that the brave warrior would live on to protect his loved ones and fight alongside them, albeit already dead. Raytor stared at his son's fangs.

He could not calm himself down nor let him go because Kaiden was his only son.

On top of that, he was a gifted child whom Raytor had very high hopes for since he was young.

Raytor had always been very strict with his son. He had never praised him no matter how well he did. Conversely, he would pull a long face and comment that Kaiden could do even better.

Kaiden had worked extremely hard to earn his father's recognition and affirmation, to the extent that he had chosen to leave Zehntausende Mountain Range to go on an adventure to train himself further.

Raytor had kept all the news about his son at his fingertips. When he learned that Kaiden became so strong that he could get rid of the elites, he was exhilarated.

Never had he expected Kaiden to step into Eurasia, the land where even gods are forbidden, for the sake of the future Holy Maiden of the Curia.

In addition, he even got into a conflict with Nathan, Eurasia's God of War. Alas, he was killed by the latter.

It took a long while before his son's body was delivered back to Zehntausende Mountain Range.

Raytor was engulfed in regrets and sorrow each time he recalled how Kaiden died. Even to the point of death, Kaiden had never received a single praise from Raytor despite having done his best his entire life. Raytor blamed himself for not showing his son any affection. Now, there was no way he could have a chance to compliment Kaiden.

He hated Nathan to the bones for killing his son.

"Nathan, I'll avenge my son!" Raytor bellowed out of rage, and his voice echoed loudly across the hall.

The elders, Shamans, and fighters hung their heads low, not daring to utter a sound for fear of being implicated.

Everyone knew how livid the Alpha Wolf was.

Just then, a gentle voice sounded from outside.

"Haha, I bet I'm in the right place! We do have a common enemy."

The voice attracted the full attention of all the werewolf elites in the hall.

They glanced at the door, baffled.

At that moment, the sorrow on Raytor's face disappeared, and his eyes were fixated on the entrance. Only a top-notch elite can sneak in without anyone knowing!

Then he sniffed the air and caught a unique waft of scent. At that instant, he grimaced, and his eyes were filled with hostility.

"I smelled that pungent scent of a vampire," he said coldly. "I'm curious, though. Besides Herod, that old fart, which vampire is so bold to make a solo intrusion?"

Right then, a towering figure strolled in unhurriedly.

"I, the fourteenth vampire prince, Max."

The werewolf elites were infuriated by the presence of a vampire.

They were ready to charge toward Max and end his life at once, but Raytor stopped them.

The Alpha Wolf could tell that Max was incredibly strong. In fact, he was more powerful than any other vampire prince.

"Don't do anything rash," shouted Raytor. He was worried that something untoward would happen to his subordinates.

When the elites heard that, they froze to their spots and obeyed Raytor absolutely. Yet, they continued to stare daggers at Max.

There was nothing they could do about it.

Although the werewolves and the vampires were both dark clans, they held deep grudges against each other. They could not stand the sight of the other party and treated them disdainfully. The vampires regarded the werewolves contemptuously as stupid and dirty weredogs.

On the other hand, the werewolves labeled the vampires as prideful hypocrites.

Basically, the two archenemies would fight whenever they met.
