Salute To The General
Chapter 3530 The Statue Of The Hero

In Heroes Square at the Curia, numerous statues of heroes stood tall.

Among them was a statue of Nathan.

Nathan used to serve as the commander-in-chief of the human alliance, vanquishing the vampires and slaying Cain. His military achievements were truly remarkable.

Though reluctant, the Curia had no choice but to place Nathan's statue among the group of heroes, allowing believers to worship it.

At that moment, night had fallen, and there weren't many people in the square.

A middle-aged Aplothian man, cradling a chubby child in his arms, was admiring a row of hero statues in the square.

The man educated the child, "Look, Frankie, that statue of an Aplothian man is Nathan Cross, the God of War in Eurasia you admire the most. You've grown up listening to Mr. Cross' stories."

The child known as Frankie nodded solemnly, his gaze falling on the row of hero statues in front of him. He immediately spotted the statue of Nathan.

The statues in the square were almost all Adrunians.

Nathan was the only Aplothian.

With his imposing stature and handsome features, he looked truly heroic and commanding. The statue depicted him as he was when he served as the commander-in-chief of the alliance, clad in his military coat. It was a majestic sight to behold. The child pointed excitedly at the statue of Nathan and said, "Daddy, when I grow up, I want to be just like Mr. Cross. I want to become a powerful hero."

Hearing that, the man laughed and said to his son, "Mr. Cross has defended our country and even led us humans to defeat the evil vampires. He personally killed the king of vampires, Cain. He truly is the pride of Eurasia!"

The child listened with a face full of admiration and couldn't help exclaiming, "Mr. Cross is really amazing!"

Meanwhile, a swordsman of the Curia, donned in Holy Knight armor with a head of silver hair and exceptionally tall stature, walked past.

His name was Augustus.

He was originally a God Warrior and had followed Morgon to Earth this time, disguising himself as a human and hiding within the Curia, assisting them in dealing with the vampires.

The late Swordmaster, Gryffen, was his best friend, and it was precisely because the latter was killed by Nathan that he resolutely followed Morgon to Earth, all for the sake of avenging his best friend.

At that moment, when he saw the father and son admiring and praising Nathan in front of the statue, his fury boiled over.

Ptui!

He spat a thick glob of phlegm onto the statue of Nathan right in front of the father-and-son duo.

The little boy, who was gazing in awe at the statue of Nathan, dreaming of growing up to be a hero like him, didn't expect someone to spit on his idol's statue. He instantly became anxious.

"Mister, how can you spit in public, and even on the statue of a hero?"

The man was livid, too. "What's your problem? You're a Holy Knight! How dare you insult the statue of a hero in Heroes Square? I'll file a complaint against you!"

In a cold tone, Augustus said, "Is he even worthy of being called a hero?"

With that, he threw a quick punch at Nathan's statue. Following a thunderous crash, the statue was instantly shattered to pieces.

The father and son standing before him were left utterly dumbfounded.

Augustus was still seething with anger after smashing Nathan's statue. He snorted coldly, "He's tucky he hasn't run into me yet. If he does, I'll kill him as easily as I would a dog."

The man was cowed into silence, but the boy in his arms burst into tears when he saw the statue of his idol being destroyed. "How dare you smash Mr. Cross' statue! You jerk!"

The man's face turned pale when he heard his son's cries, for he knew things were not going to end well.

As expected, Augustus' face darkened, and he sneered, "Did you just call me a jerk? I'll show you what a jerk I can be!"

Following that, he swung his fist in the boy's direction.

Frightened, the man quickly shielded his son with his body.

Just as the father-and-son duo were

about to lose their lives under Augustus fist, a figure dashed over at the speed of light and positioned himself protectively in front of the father and son, blocking Augustus.

The figure was none other than Nathan, who had just arrived in Salinsburgh and reached the Curia's square.

Nathan raised his hand, catching Augustus' fist.

Bam!

The bluestone bricks beneath Nathan's feet instantly shattered.

However, Nathan was completely unscathed.

Augustus stared at Nathan, who had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, his face full of astonishment.

Nathan spoke coldly. "Though we don't hold grudges against each other, I could overlook you smashing my statue, but don't you think you're going too far by resorting too murder?"
