Salute To The General -
Chapter 3531 Something Is Amiss
"Nathan Cross!"
Augustus was utterly astonished upon seeing Nathan himself appear before him.
In a surge of shock and anger, he violently broke free from Nathan's grip and launched a swift kick at Nathan's face. Nathan tilted his head slightly, effortlessly dodging Augustus' kick while reaching out to grab his ankle, flinging him away. Boom!
Augustus was sent flying and smashed into a massive stone sculpture in the square before landing heavily on the ground. Overwhelmed by anger and bewilderment, he immediately got back on his feet and lunged at Nathan again.
His altercation with Nathan had already captured the interest of onlookers. If not for his concern about inducing panic among Earth's human population, he might have assumed his combat form at this very moment. "Go to hell!"
With a roar of anger, he threw a punch at Nathan.
This punch carried a terrifying force and was delivered with an imposing momentum.
Nathan scoffed and showed no more mercy. He raised his hand and immediately launched a Thunderstorm punch.
Bam!
The two fists collided, generating a deafening noise.
As a result, Augustus was sent flying backward for over ten meters by the impact. The bones in his right arm shattered piece by piece, and his entire arm hung loosely on the side like a strand of cooked pasta, unable to be lifted again. Augustus had not expected Nathan to be so powerful to the extent of being able to injure him heavily when he wasn't in his combat form.
The sheer force of Nathan's punch even transmitted through his arm and penetrated his chest, damaging his internal organs.
A mouthful of fresh blood had already surged to his throat.
He hastily swallowed the blood back down.
If Nathan and the people around were to see him cough up blue blood, it would be disastrous for him.
After a brief battle with Augustus, Nathan also subtly sensed that something was off about this man.
Moreover, he clearly saw a trace of blue liquid seeping from the corner of Augustus' mouth.
Even though Augustus managed to swiftly wipe it away, the sight still aroused Nathan's strong suspicion.
He vividly remembered that the Gods' blood was blue.
His face fell, and just as he was about to determine whether the person before him was a God or a human, a large number of elites from the Curia had already rushed over upon learning of their altercation. Leading the team was none other than Zelara, one of the Ten Elders on duty that day.
Zelara, along with a group of experts he brought with him, instantly surrounded Nathan. In the meantime, several people seized the chance to carry the injured Augustus away.
Nathan furrowed his brows slightly.
Zelara greeted him warmly, "Ah, it's you, Mr. Cross! When did you arrive in Salinsburgh? Why didn't you inform us in advance? And what's going on?"
Nathan stood with his hands behind
his back, his voice icy. "Your men took away the guy who was just fighting with me. Do you really need to ask me what's going on? Seems like should be the one asking you, shouldn't I?"
A hint of unease flickered in the depths of Zelara's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure, forcing a laugh as he said, "Haha, this must all be a misunderstanding."
Colin, standing behind Nathan, said
angrily, "One of your people
smashed Mr. Cross' statue and even tried to harm innocent people. M Cross stepped in to stop him, and you call this a misunderstanding?"
QUMS
Zelara's expression shifted when he heard that. He then responded with a forced smile, "I guess that guy must have had too much to drink or lost his mind to do something so crazy Rest assured, Mr. Cross, I will report this to Pope Eugene and
thoroughly investigate this matter."
At that point, he swiftly changed the subject. "Mr. Cross, you must be here to see Pope Eugene, right? Come on, let me show you the way."
With that, he led the way up front, intending to take Nathan to meet Eugene IV.
Nathan could tell that the Curia was planning to downplay this matter.
Their behavior proved that they were guilty and that there was something amiss.
He was determined to replace out if the Curia had really conspired with the Gods, and what tricks they had up their sleeve.
Calm and collected, he said, "All right. Do guide me there."
