Melany stood there, just as shocked as he was.

It was one thing for Allison to lose her temper, but to hit and then slap Colton?!

No one could have imagined that the normally sweet and docile woman would deal such a blow.

The Allison who had once put up with everything without complaint was gone.

“Did I lose my mind? Well, I’ve always been that way,” Allison said, wiping her fingers with a wet wipe, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

It didn’t take much to figure it out: Melany and Colton had been entangled from the moment she returned to the field.

"Mr.

Stevens, your grandfather is being discharged tomorrow.

I'll be there.

But as for my invitation to Cobweb, I withdraw it.

"

Colton opened his mouth to respond, but Allison silenced him with a dazzling smile.

"A man as generous as you wouldn't object, would he? I mean, you don't still have feelings for me that would prevent you from letting it go, right?"

Her challenge struck a nerve.

Colton's expression darkened.

“It’s just an intelligence network full of nobodies! You think the Stevens family’s survival depends on Cobweb? I’ll prove to you that even without it, I’ll get the biggest advertiser in Ontario.

His dark eyes burned with fury, barely containing the gathering storm.

"Pack up your things and leave tomorrow! Take every last thing that belongs to you.

I don't want any trace of your disgusting trash left.

"

Allison smiled at him again, as if his words were nothing more than background noise.

She pointed at the suit he was wearing.

"But I designed it.

If it's as dirty as you say, shouldn't you return it?"

The suit had always been one of her proudest creations: impeccable tailoring, ruby-studded buttons that sparkled against the smooth black fabric.

Colton had been wearing it this whole time, assuming he'd bought it somewhere fancy.

Still furious, he tore off her clothes and threw them at her feet with a sneer.

"I imagine someone from your world wouldn't understand.

Take it all, I don't care.

"

Allison wordlessly picked up the jacket, then turned around and threw it into a nearby trash can.

"Brilliant.

Colton's face twisted in disbelief.

This woman was doing this deliberately, and it was working!

Outside, a small crowd had gathered, whispering among themselves as they watched the spectacle.

"Is that guy a kept man? It looks like they're breaking up and he's giving her back her stuff," one person muttered.

"Yeah, and have you seen the new girlfriend? He's not wasting any time after the divorce," said another.

Colton's face darkened even further as her words hit home, his temper barely under control.

He was about to explode when he saw Allison walking away, leaving a trail of dust in her wake.

How could he have missed that side of her, the fierceness that hid beneath her calm demeanor?

Meanwhile, in the luxurious suite of the Royal Princess, Kellan didn't wake up until the sun was already high in the sky.

The room still had traces of the previous night's indulgence, and the bed was completely unmade.

Like a predator awakening from sleep, he lazily crept to the other side of the bed.

The pillow was cold; whoever had been there was long gone.

His eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint briefly flashing in their depths.

He reached under the pillow and pulled out a pearl necklace he had probably left behind when he left.

She turned it over in her hand: a pristine pearl necklace, centered by a bold red agate gem.

The piece was striking, almost untamed, like its owner! Beneath its serene surface, there had always been something wild, something reckless.

Kellan massaged his temples, the vivid image of the woman from last night’s lithe silhouette still dancing at the edge of his consciousness.

Her words echoed in his mind, full of arrogance and confidence.

"I'll be in charge!"

Even Kellan had to admit that her movements were abrupt and deliberate.

Although she hadn't fought in centuries, she had managed to wound him, a sign of the strength that lay beneath her calm exterior.

Kellan had always been drawn to danger like a moth to a flame.

Whether it was the roar of engines at a race or the pounding of fists in the ring, he craved those moments when he teetered on the edge, when a split second determined everything.

That rush was more than just a thrill—it was an addiction.

And last night? That had been something else.

A clash of equals.

The kind of encounter that made her pulse race long after the dust had settled.

But what was gnawing at him now was the feeling that they were cut from the same cloth.

They had not met by chance, but had been drawn into each other's orbit, as if guided by an invisible force.

Lost in thought, Kellan reached for the phone, but his fingers stopped short when he saw a note under the gun on his nightstand, held together by a wad of cash.

The handwriting was a mess, but the message was crystal clear:

"Your performance was terrible.

Consider this your tip after a deduction.

"

His eyes darkened for a moment, but then a slow chuckle escaped his lips.

That was just how she was.

He could practically see the smug smile she must have had as she scribbled those words.

How could anyone be so bold? The thought only increased his intrigue.

He dialed a number, his voice cold as he gave his orders.

“Take care of those who followed me last night.

Follow the usual procedure.

I don’t want them showing up again.

“I’ve already taken care of that.

” The voice on the other end shook slightly, as if bracing for Kellan’s fury.

“Though we still haven’t figured out who sent them.

“That drug last night? It came from Shadow’s new stash.

Find whoever was behind it.

Kellan paused and tightened his grip on the necklace in his hand.

"And replace out who the woman in room 403 was.

"

"Understood, sir!"
