Chapter 162

Liana POV

"Take my hand, Luna," Mike reaches for me. "Let me help you down."

I take a moment to appreciate Philip's pack being tied up before I accept his hand. Climbing through the sunroof, fuelled by adrenaline, was so much easier than getting down.

"My wife, the hero" Axel says as he wraps me tightly against his naked chest. His lips captivate mine feverishly and I eagerly answer his demands. My heart nearly stopped when we arrived here, and I saw him and Adele fighting. Feeling his body warmth and his heart beating is an indescribable relief.

"I'm so turned on by you right now," he murmurs against my lips.

"I can tell," I reply and feel his erection pressing against me.

There is nothing more I would like than to get naked with him at this very second, but we have work to do. "And as much as I would like to continue with where it's heading, you should put on clothes and not a show."

"You're right," he smirks. "They're all already jealous of me having such a formidable mate, I shouldn't rub it in."

"Keep it up, Alpha Silvermann," I reach into the back, grab a shirt and hand it to him. "And you might get lucky tonight."

"I'm going to hold you to that," he grins and puts the pants on.

"Axel," Adele's eyes are big, and she is abnormally pale. "It's Luther. Philip has him."

My mouth goes dry, and I cling to the cars door as she informs us.

"I mind-linked a guard," she continues. "He confirmed Philip has killed three and has Luther at gunpoint."

"Let's go," Axel grunts.

"Wait," I say hastily before they can leave.

"Love, you need to sit this one out," Axel says firmly. "I'm not risking you or our daughter."

"That's not what I was getting at," I shake my head. "But you're walking into a trap. Philip knows he's stuck. He's not going to try to escape. He's going to kill you, then sit back and smile when your guards take care of him. Taking you down with him is his goal. But you shouldn't kill Philip. Not yet anyway. Were going to need him for information if we want to wipe out his evil empire, and we have no idea if he has somebody who will continue his work."

"I don't care," Adele says adamantly. "I'm not sacrificing my mate for the greater good. I don't care how selfish it is. He's all I have."

"I couldn't agree more," I smile sympathetically as I take her hand. I vividly remember the feeling of devastation when you fear for your mate's life. "And I have an idea."

"You should call Michelle," I turn to Axel. "Were going to need her help."

Luther POV

"Is that the best you can do?" I cough and fight for air as I struggle back up. "Punching me in the gut with a gun?

Where's your pride, man? Which she wolf emasculated

you?"

"That's rich coming from you," he sneers and strikes me in the face. "You're the alpha's bitch."

"You honestly don't know the first thing about the mate bond or relationships, do you?" I spit the blood from my mouth and look at him. "Standing in your partner's way of success because it threatens your stand in society, weakens the bond you share. We are stronger together than apart."

"Spare me the inspirational speech," he rolls his eyes."

Shes calling the shots, and you roll over and obey.

Sugarcoating it only makes you feel better. Having a mate makes you vulnerable. Case and point."

He points to my beaten face.

"She's going to sacrifice herself for you," he snorts. "A mate is a liability."

"And how many people will show up for you, Philip?" Adele's voice is clear and firm as she walks towards us, and 1 nearly swallow my tongue when I notice she is naked. "You don't even have a liability who is willing to sacrifice herself for you." "See?" She raises her eyebrows. "I'm unarmed."

"And stupid," Philip sneers as Adele puts her arm around my waist. "Where's Axel? I'm not an idiot. You might be unarmed, but he's still lurking."

"I'm right here, dumb ass," Axel says and he leisurely strolls towards us - b**t naked.

Instantly, Philip points the gun at Axel.

"Where's your mate?" Philip shouts. "Doesn't she want to see you die?"

An arrow sweeps past us and Philip screams in pain when the arrow hits him in the wrist. The gun drops to the ground and immediately Adele kicks it aside.

I get hold of Philip by the hair, and he looks at me bewildered before my fist connects hard with his jaw.

"Who's the bitch now?" I sneer before punching him in the gut. He folds double and lands on his knees.

"I told you" I jerk his head so I can look him in the eye.

Stronger together."

"Go ahead," Philip challenges me. "Kill me."

"We're not going to kill you," Liana's voice is sweet and innocent as she walks closer with the crossbow in hand." Not like this, anyway."

"Why?" Philip sneers. "Is it too bloody for you and now you're going to order a guard to do it?"

"Oh, please, blood doesn't scare me," Liana laughs heartily as she kneels by Philip. "I simply have a better idea. You have ruined so many lives, Philip. Taking advantage of young women by selling their organs when they couldn't afford their right to choose. That's not nice, you know?" Liana reaches for Axel's hand, and he helps her to stand up.

"You preyed on the vulnerable and made yourself rich," she continues. "But you cannot take your riches with you to the grave. And we can never undo what you did, but we can try.

You're going to donate every single body part to a person in need. Sort of a refund. It's kind of poetic, don't you think?"

"The only part that's poetic is that you'll be as guilty as me," he looks at her laughing. "There's no way you can do it since I'm not braindead. Harvesting from a living person is illegal and killing me would kill my organs."

"You'll be braindead soon enough," Liana smiles sweetly."

All the alphas are dying to participate. You have no idea how many people want to punch you in the face. And with a little guidance from a doctor, you'll soon have a brain bleed. UNOS will be thrilled about all the organs coming their way. You're going to donate everything, and I mean

everything. Organs, skin, eyes, hell, even your teeth and hair if they want it. The only part that would be useless, would be your brain because it's underdeveloped."

"You b!tch!" Philip struggles to his feet but I kick his knee and he tumbles into the dirt.

"Told you," I say as I push him into the ground and sit on his back. "Together we are stronger."

"And much more innovative," Adele laughs.

"We'll call the guards to take him to Clear Moon," Axel takes Liana's hand.

"Get some clothes," I shout after them. "Your a*s is not as hot as Liana lets you believe."

Axel POV

"Hey!" Liana shouts over her shoulder and covers my butt cheek with her hand. "It fits perfectly where it should."

"If he gets up and touches my butt to see if you're right, I'll kick his a*s," I chuckle and pull her closer.

"Not if I do it first," she plants a kiss on my cheek. "Your butt belongs to me."

Her cell phone rings and she eagerly takes it out.

"You're on speaker, David," she answers the phone. "Axel is with me. Did something happen?"

"Not a single thing," he informs us. "I scoured the area with drones but didn't see anything or anyone."

"Good work," I praise him. "But keep the additional guards on border patrol. We still need to catch The Enforcers."

"Yes, Alpha," David disconnects the call.

"Do you really think they'll come for us?" Liana asks as she puts her phone away.

"I seriously doubt that they are loyal enough to Philip to try and free him," I say. "But I'm not taking any changes. They might not come for Philip, but were taking all prisoners to Clear Moon. They might come for their friends."

"Do you think Adele and Luther will be safe?" She asks concerned. "They lost a lot of guards in today's fight and will be vulnerable during another attack. We should go to Philip's pack and inform the members about what's happening. Heaven knows what kind of pack members he has. They all could be as ruthless as him."

"We'll go there as soon as the prisoners are secured," I pull her closer. "And I'll arrange for more security for Moon Stone. Alpha Reese's pack isn't that far and I'm sure he'll be more than willing to help."

"I can't wait until we locate The Enforcers," Liana sighs next to me. "The pigs need food and UNOS can do with more organs."
