Eight years ago, she lost to him. Was she destined to keep losing to him after so many years?

Plainly speaking, she couldn't accept her defeat.

She had been playing snooker since she was a kid, but Trevor only started playing a few days before that eventful match.

Could she not even win a single game against this newcomer?

"Sure, but to make it interesting, why don't we have a bet?" Trevor absolutely reveled at how vexed Jessica was by her defeat.

"A bet?" Jessica frowned. With what? What did she have that Trevor could possibly want?

And what type of bet would it be?

"Of course. You can't just casually challenge me, the chairman, to a decisive duel, right?" Trevor explained with a raised brow and smiling face.

He really loved it when his wife got all flared up.

"Sure, you can have whatever you want. But if I win, I get to quit this job." The only thing on Jessica's mind was to leave her job, to leave this company and this devil of a man.

If Trevor discovered her true identity, that would be the beginning of her nightmares.

She couldn't imagine what kind of nasty tricks he would play on her if he ever found out she was actually Jessica Jackson.

"If you win, that is."

Trevor removed the ball rack, took aim, and fired a shot.

Jessica could not believe it, this man potted every single ball.

Not just the spots, not just the stripes, but all of them.

Goodness, all the balls.

Stunned, Jessica marveled at how much the man had improved in the sport.

Thundering applause filled the room as the crowd commended Trevor's snooker skills. Only Jessica

stood completely stupefied, staring blankly at the air.

My goodness, he should had went professional!

What a pair of hands!

"I'm so sorry, Miss Secretary, should I have offered you the opportunity to take a shot?"

There was a hint of adoration in Trevor's eyes as he admired Jessica.

"Oh my gosh, my wife is too lovely, I can't take it anymore," Trevor exclaimed inwardly.

"You're phenomenal, Mr. Gulliford." Jessica nodded. She regretted challenging Trevor as she was no match for him and was only humiliating herself.

"Phenomenal? No, I was just born with the talent," Trevor responded haughtily. He rested his cue upon the table, walked around the table and approached Jessica.

"As promised, you have to agree to a request of mine, Miss Secretary." "What is it?"

"Hmm, I don't know yet. Well, I'll tell you when I figure it out. We have a long way to go anyways."

Trevor wasn't in a hurry, his scornful smile was a sign of that.

"Mr. Gulliford, the internet

connection on the island is suddenly down. We are now cut off from the outside world," A man that seemed to be a crew member entered the room and said.

"Mr. Gulliford is aware of this. Please go back to your station. We've already informed the maintenance team to get it fixed." Martin quickly stopped the man in his tracks.

QUMS

"But Mr. Gulliford, without the

internet, all the surveillance cameras are down. I'm just worried that accidents might happen." The man continued blabbering. Martin quickly ordered some people to drag the man away so that Trevor's good mood would not be disturbed.

Jessica inhaled deeply. Even though it was just snooker, she felt dejected. "How could this be? Snooker is my favorite sport," she questioned herself inwardly.

"Okay, let's go for another round." Looking at Jessica's upset face, Trevor's heart sank. He quickly suggested having another go, then lost on purpose to appease Jessica.
