Shattered Vows Shining Comeback -
Chapter 59
Chapter 59 I’m Divorced
Theodore’s grand gesture drew the attention of the entire restaurant. Couples around them whispered excitedly, wondering if a proposal was happening.
Not far from them, Bradley sat with his wife, whom he had finally managed to placate after days of groveling.
He was overjoyed at catching Gwen in what he thought was another scandal. He discreetly snapped a photo of Theodore’s back and sent it to Jake with a message, “Jake, look. Your ex–wife has already found her new target. He has a pretty good figure too.”
Jake was in the middle of a meeting in Hall Group when the message came through.
His expression instantly darkened, and his temples throbbed with anger. He slammed his phone onto the table, startling everyone in the room.
As he grabbed his coat from the back of his chair, he muttered coldly, “Carry on without me. I have something to take care of.”
With that, he stormed out of the room and headed straight for the restaurant.
Back at the restaurant, Theodore straightened up and said seriously, “Milady, I admit that my public confession was rash and probably gave you a bad impression. I apologize for that.”
“Apology accepted. Just don’t do it again,” Gwen said.
Theodore’s eyes were filled with sincerity as he gazed at her. “But my feelings for you are real. I was captivated by how easily you outsmarted that fool into buying that bracelet at the auction.
“Seeing you cry in the wind on the rooftop made my heart ache. I had always thought I understood women, but I had never cared about someone’s feelings like I did that night.
“Later, back in Bellmont, I saw you singing on stage. That was when I knew I had completely fallen for you!
Gwen remained unfazed by Theodore’s heartfelt confession. She took a sip of her wine and smiled faintly. “Do you know I’m divorced?”
Theodore had anticipated this and immediately swore his loyalty, “Milady, your divorce doesn’t affect the way I see you at all.”
“Do you know who my ex–husband is?”
“Why should I care? Whoever that blind fool is, he’s not worth mentioning.”
When Theodore first looked into Gwen’s background, all he found out was that she worked as the general manager at Savant Group.
As soon as he heard she was divorced, he rushed off to buy flowers for his confession, not bothering to listen to the
rest.
Gwen’s gaze shifted to the entrance, where she spotted Jake approaching, his expression as dark as a storm. A glint of amusement flickered in her eyes. “Aren’t you worried that I was the one at fault in that marriage?”
“No way! The one who divorced you is blind. You’re amazing. Losing you is his loss,” Theodore exclaimed passionately, nearly leaping to his feet.
Gwen tilted her chin toward the person behind Theodore and said, “It’s him.”
Theodore, confused, turned around and was stunned when he saw Jake standing there. He greeted him absentmindedly, “Hey, Jake. What are you doing here?”

Jake didn’t respond. He simply fixed his gaze on Gwen, his brows furrowing as a storm of emotions swirled in his eyes.
He couldn’t believe Bradley’s so–called “new target” was actually Theodore.
” said he u
are you staring at milady?” Theodore clapped Jake on the shoulder.
Jake’s gaze shifted back to Theodore.
So the “milady” he mentioned in their group chat referred to Gwen!
The three of them stood in awkward silence until Bradley strolled over and pieced together what was happening.
He glanced nervously at Gwen and checked to see if there was any dirty water nearby before clearing his throat. “Theo, didn’t I tell you? Your milady’s ex–husband is Jake.”
A thunderous realization hit Theodore, leaving him speechless. His mouth went wide with shock.
Gwen slowly stood up and handed the crystal roses back to Theodore with a calm expression. “Keep the flowers. Or better yet, sell them and use the money to fix Jake’s eyes.”
“That’s a bit… harsh…” Bradley started to speak but was immediately silenced by a sharp, icy look from Gwen. Theodore, swallowing nervously, turned to Jake and asked, “Jake, is what she’s saying true?”
