Chapter 235
Suddenly, Joanna held Winston’s hand. She gazed at his profile, hoping he would tell the reportersthat he was indeed filing for divorce with Millie.
The reporters caught her small gesture and hurriedly zoomed in.
Millie had thought seeing them behave like that would no longer affect her. However, at thatmoment, she was somewhat furious.
Her frustration stemmed from the fact that they were no longer hiding their relationship. This was apress conference, after all, and it was broadcast nationwide.
If her parents and grandparents were watching, they would undoubtedly be infuriated.
“Millie and I are indeed-”
Before Winston could finish his sentence, there was a commotion outside the press conferencevenue. Everyone asked, “Who is it?”
“Who’s here?”
The crowd turned to look outside. Selma, exuding a commanding presence, strode into the venuewith two rows of bodyguards trailing behind her.
She was clad in a black velvet suit, and her demeanor was as serious as ever. She stopped in frontof the stage and stared at Winston.
Winston was momentarily stunned. What was his grandmother doing here?
In the next second, Selma shifted her gaze to Joanna, who gulped nervously. She then instincti lyducked behind Winston. Deep down, she was still afraid of Selma.
Selma glared at Joanna and scoffed. “Winston, I can’t believe you held a press conference for Ms.Lowell.”
The reporters quickly grabbed their cameras, capturing every moment. They had a feeling that amajor spectacle was about to unfold.
Feeling regretful, Joanna began, “Mrs. Greer Senior, I-
“Shut up!” Selma commanded, cutting off whatever Joanna was about to say.
Joanna’s face turned pale instantly. Selma was truly fierce. She didn’t even bother to show anymercy
her.
Selma glanced at the pair on stage as she remarked sarcastically, “Those who are aware mightknow this is a press conference, but to others, it could appear like your official announcement as acouple. “Winston, why is she even up there with you at your press conference? Tell her to stepdown!”
Her words shocked everyone in the room. Selma had ordered Joanna to get off the stage! Therewas no doubt she wanted to force her out.
Joanna froze in place. With so many reporters watching, Selma was practically humiliating her byasking her to step down. But she was the daughter of the Lowell family!
Winston bent down slightly and said in a low voice, “Grandma, please don’t cause trouble. We’rehandling

Yet, Selma was merciless as she went straight to the stage. Her assistant, following behind, cast aquick look at Joanna before gesturing toward the audience, saying, “Ms. Lowell, if you would.”
Joanna bit her lip. She was unsure of what to do next. So, she could only look at Winston.
He frowned in response. After a while, he nodded and signaled for her to leave.
Joanna’s gaze swept over Selma and the reporters below once more. Everyone wore looks ofanticipation. Hence, she had no choice but to lower her head and quietly step down from the stage.Selma glanced at Winston, her expression serious as she approached him.
“At a press conference like this, you should be the only one on stage, or with Mrs. Greer. Appearingalongside another woman is inappropriate!”
Winston frowned, his eyes revealing a mix of emotions. On stage, Selma exuded a powerfulpresence. She stared coldly at him and commanded, “Winston, apologize to your wife, Millie!”
The crowd exchanged looks upon hearing that. It was evident that Selma had Millie’s bestinterests.
heart.
Winston was displeased. In front of numerous reporters, he answered straightforwardly, “Grandma, held this press conference because of the fake Snowdrop the Lowell family had given. Our familieshad just finalized a collaboration. Is it wrong for me to speak up for them?”
“And what has your wife, Millie, done wrong? Why must she be subjected to such public criticismhere?” Selma slammed the table, her eyes burning with rage.
