League 261

Chapter 261

As Millie’s words sank in, the man visibly faltered. The onlookers around them exchanged looks ofshock. They couldn’t help but wonder if they had heard her correctly.

Noticing his nervous gulp, Millie repeated, “If you lose, you cut off a thumb as a sign of respect forall life. Do you dare?”

Quincy chuckled awkwardly. It was as if he couldn’t believe Millie could play for such high stakes.Wasn’t this akin to gambling with his life?

He simply wanted to defeat this wealthy woman, not put his life on the line.

All at once, their surroundings fell eerily quiet.

Millie took a step forward and stared him down. Her smile widened as she gently asked, “Are youscared?”

Quincy was flustered. Just as he struggled to replace his words, someone from behind heckled, “Comeon, Quincy! She’s just a woman. Why are you afraid of her?”

“That’s right! You’ve driven this route hundreds of times, surely you can beat her?”

“Do it! But we have one condition!”

At that moment, a redhead, Matt Tatum, pushed through from behind.

Millie sized him up. She figured he was a friend of Quincy.

“If you lose…” Matt pointed at Millie, his eyes glinting dangerously. “You’ll chop off a finger too!”

Millie inhaled sharply upon hearing that. Behind her, Rachel tightened her grip on her arm, worryetched across her face.

Somehow, Marvin managed to get his hands on a corn dog. At that moment, he was thoroughlyenjoying it, seemingly unconcerned about whether Millie could participate in this absurd race.

“Since it’s a bet, both sides must be equal!” Matt insisted.

The crowd nodded in agreement.

“He’s right!”

“The loser will chop off a finger! Let’s get on with it! We don’t want to waste our time here.”

“You’re such a coward, Quincy! How could a woman scare you? You’re pathetic!” someoneshouted.

Perhaps the comment had struck a nerve, and Quincy bellowed, “Fuck it! Let’s race! I’ve neverbeen afraid of anyone!”

“The bet’s on! Come, sign here,” Matt announced without hesitation.

There were regulations at Python Mountain. Any accidents, such as car crashes or fatalities, wereunrelated to the race.

And now, they were adding one more rule. If either party lost a finger, it would only be part of thebet.

Mille glanced at the contract and found no issues. Thus, she signed her name decisively, muchlike she had earlier that morning when finalizing her divorce application.

Quincy, however, stared at her name. He gritted his teeth, and finally, he penned his name.

For amateur street racers like him, they dreaded nothing more than being looked down upon.Quincy was a prominent figure in the racing community, after all. So, he couldn’t afford toembarrass himself.

Millie watched as he finished signing. Then, they locked eyes, ready for a showdown.

Right away, Matt started shouting. “Place your bets! Time to place your bets!”

“I bet on Quincy!”

“Me too!”

Before Millie and Quincy walked away to get ready, she turned back and instructed, “Marvin, takegood care of Rachel.”

“Don’t worry, boss! Enjoy yourself!” Marvin nodded.

On the other hand, Rachel frowned, looking solemn. Millie was doing this for her, all becauseQuincy had said she was just for show and accused her of having slept with countless men.

“Millie Caldwell, you’re a fool!” Rachel cursed inwardly

Suddenly, Matt approached them with two transparent boxes. “Are you guys betting or not?”

The red one was for Millie, while the blue one was for Quincy.

Quincy’s box was now filled with money, as people tossed wads of cash into it. Meanwhile, Millie’sbox had only a few bills.

Marvin stared at Matt and yelled, “Of course, we are!”

After saying that, he threw all his money into Millie’s box.

Matt scoffed and remarked, “Hey, kid. Just a friendly reminder. In this world, the only female racerwho won a bet was Seven.”
