Sir, Madam Dispeared Again After Divorce! -
Chapter 776 Wealthy
Sydney was amused. "I know you have a lot of money, but you can't just give your money to those shareholders for nothing. These are not dividends but your money. If you do so, you will only make them greedy. They will sit back and relax in the future because they think that you will give them money and will not let them suffer losses."
Julien reached out and stroked her nose. "I know, but do you think I will let them take advantage of me for nothing? They can only take advantage of me in their dreams."
Sydney nodded. "That's true."
"Well, let's go." Julien held her hand tightly. "I'll take you to my office. Don't worry. It won't delay the meeting. The meeting is important, but I can afford to be a few minutes late."
Sydney knew that he just wanted to take her there. Otherwise, he wouldn't have insisted after she refused continuously.
So she didn't want to reject his kindness. She nodded her head. "Since you said so, I have to agree."
Julien rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb and led her to his office.
When they arrived at the door of the president's office, Zach quickly came forward and opened the door for them.
Julien took Sydney in, but Zach did not follow. He turned around and went to the break room next door.
In the office, Julien let go of Sydney's hand and pointed to the couch. "Wait here for me to get back. You can watch TV, play games, read books in the bookcase behind my desk, or go to the lounge to sleep. The meeting will last several hours. It's boring for you to just wait here. It's better to sleep."
He pointed in the direction of the lounge.
Sydney looked over and nodded. "I see. Just go to the meeting. Don't worry. I'm an adult. I can replace fun ways to kill time. You made such a detailed arrangement. I feel like a child or a guest that can only do what you said."
Hearing the word "guest", Julien immediately frowned. "You are not a guest. You are my lover. My place is also your place, so you can feel free to do what you want to do. I won't arrange for you to do anything in the future."
"That's more like it. I feel much freer," Sydney said as she stretched.
Julien chuckled. He was about to say something when the office door reopened and Zach came in with a tray containing a pot of black tea and a delicate red velvet cake.
"Mr. Flint, I took the liberty of making black tea and bringing a cake for Ms. Raines," Zach said to Julien as he walked up to the two people.
Julien nodded in satisfaction. "I just intended to tell you to make tea. You are smart. Not bad."
Hearing his compliment, Zach smiled, "This is what I should do, and these were originally prepared by you for Ms. Raines."
"These were prepared for me?" Sydney pointed at her nose in surprise.
"Yes, Ms. Raines." Zach nodded.
Sydney looked at the tray he was holding and then looked at Julien. "I decided to come here on the spur of the moment, and I didn't see you ask someone to prepare these in the car, so why did you prepare them ahead of time?"
These must have been prepared in advance.
After all, Zach came here with them, and as soon as they entered the office, Zach came over with black tea and cake.
If Zach had ordered them after coming here, they wouldn't have arrived so fast.
The most important thing was that Julien did not like to drink black tea and eat dessert.
Julien seemed to be a little embarrassed, put his fist against his lips, and coughed. "I asked Zach to keep preparing these things a long time ago."
"What do you mean?" Sydney was puzzled.
Zach pushed his glasses. "Ms. Raines, when Mr. Flint was chasing you, he had me prepare your favorite black tea and dessert. Black tea lasts long, but dessert goes bad easily. Mr. Flint still had the top dessert chef send fresh cake over every day for you. If you don't come, Mr. Flint will ask me to throw away the dessert at the end of the day. After all, cakes would not taste so good after staying in a fridge overnight. The next day, a new cake will be sent over. It has lasted several months."
In other words, Zach had thrown away hundreds of pieces of expensive dessert.
Although it was not Zach who paid for it, he mourned the waste of money.
After all, Zach handed over the money.
After hearing Zach's words, Sydney understood, and warmth welled up in her heart. Her eyes were slightly hot as she looked at the man whose eyes were wandering.
Julien was afraid to look at her. Was he shy, or was he worried she would criticize him for being wasteful?
Sydney wasn't sure what he was thinking, so she smiled, stepped forward, and wrapped her arms around Julien's waist.
Julien was stunned and then looked down.
Sydney leaned her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. Her voice was warm and soft. "Thank you for doing this for me."
If Zach hadn't told her this time, she wouldn't have known that he had prepared her favorite dessert for her for months.
He knew that she would not come here often, but he still had it prepared every day so that she could eat it when she came occasionally.
His persistence and thoughtfulness were enough to touch any woman.
As Julien heard the joy and gratitude in Sydney's voice, his tense body relaxed. He raised his hands to hug her. "No need to thank me. Shouldn't I do something for my beloved?"
If he didn't even do something for his beloved woman, what qualifications would he have to say he loved her?
Zach could not help but shiver when he saw them suddenly embrace and exchange sweet words. Zach couldn't bear to see it any longer.
There was such little time, but these two people were so lovey-dovey. Zach had had enough of it. He'd better hurry up and get out before he became sad and envious. After all, he was still single. Thinking of this, Zach hurriedly turned around, quietly walked to the door, and soon disappeared. If Zach stayed there, Julien would kick him out when the two of them were to kiss or do something else.
So he might as well go out by himself. At least it was less humiliating than being driven out.
Zach walked away so quietly that neither Julien nor Sydney noticed.
Sydney laughed and then looked up at Julien's handsome face.
Her eyes were slightly red because she was moved just now, and even the outer corners of her eyes were pink, which added charm to her.
"Yes, but you should have told me. If Zach had not talked about it, would you not be going to tell me?" she asked.
Julien turned his gaze from her. "There's no need to tell you. I should do such things silently. If I told you, I couldn't show any sincerity. I would seem to try to tell you how good I am to you. That would be very artificial."
"This..." Sydney was stunned for a moment. Then she said with a nod, "It seems so, but you did not have to do that. I do not often come here. I come once a few months. If I don't come, then you have to waste a lot of cakes, right?"
