-So what, did you do something last night? Did you go out to meet someone?

-No, Leticia. I didn’t go anywhere,” Olivia rolls her eyes.

-How boring you are, it’s amazing that being so pretty and young you don’t take advantage of it.

-I know I’m going to meet the right man at any moment, there’s no need to rush things.

-And when will that be? When you’re a decrepit old woman!

Olivia denies her partner’s comment, she was very insistent about getting a boyfriend. It wasn’t that she didn’t want one, but she didn’t think she would rush things with a man either, especially when she had been disappointed with her last few dates. Everyone lied, they always lied in the end.

It was very difficult to replace a man, faithful, but above all sincere. Suddenly that face came to her mind, sweeping everything in its path. Olivia stood up straight, feeling a strong shudder inside her. Why was she thinking about that man? She didn’t even know him well enough for him to come and occupy her thoughts.

Quickly, she denied…it didn’t make sense that this guy would come to her mind.

At that, the store phone began to ring. Leticia answered cordially while Olivia continued to clean the glass in the display cases.

-Right away, don’t worry about it,” the brunette heard her companion say, and then watched her hang up the call.

-What is it?

-I need you to go up to the top floor of the hotel and pick up a garment that will be returned.

-Returned? But we don’t accept returns, Leticia. Are you crazy? If the boss replaces out, she’ll throw us out.

-This is a different case. -Go up to the top floor and get that dress. Make sure it’s in perfect condition.

-Why do I have to go upstairs? You’re the one who took the call.

Olivia refused to go upstairs, she knew that the top floors of the hotel were offices. Mostly, where important people hung out.

-Because I’ve been working in this store longer than you, so you’re going to get that garment.

-And why don’t you send it to someone?

-Olivia, please.” Her companion folds her arms.

The brunette lets out her breath, she had no choice but to go up… as the elevator’s number counter increased, Olivia let out her breath every few seconds. Her brain kept grumbling, still thinking why they didn’t send the garment with someone.

She wasn’t hired to fetch dresses to the offices, it was unfair for them to send her as if she was working as a courier. She folds her arms feeling annoyed, Leticia was a bad partner, she relied on the time she had working to send her.

Olivia looked at the number marker, noticing that she had already reached the top floor. Suddenly the doors opened and she made her way to the office Leticia had indicated. The brunette ran into an attractive secretary who kept typing.

-Good morning, I’ve come from the hotel boutique to pick up a garment,” the blonde looks up.

-Come in, they’re waiting for you inside.

She looks at the office door and thinks for a moment.

-Are you coming in or are you going to stand there all day? -The secretary looked at her as if her presence was in the way.

-Yes, of course.

Oliva walks to the door when she hears the hateful woman’s phone ring. Immediately, she answers and in a matter of seconds the woman’s voice stops her.

-Wait! -Olivia turns around. Don’t come in, I’ll get the dress.

The woman stands up and walks into the office.

into the office. The brunette breathes a sigh of relief, something was telling her not to go into that office. Thank goodness the secretary was the one who came in, she glances sideways at the couch and decides to sit down and wait.

In just a couple of minutes, the office door opens and out comes the secretary with a bag bearing the boutique’s logo. Olivia makes an attempt to stand up, when out of nowhere from the office emerges that man she had seen in the store and then at the entrance of the hotel.

The brunette sits back down feeling petrified, what was that man doing in those offices? She wonders, wasn’t he a guest of the hotel? She blinks several times, as she prayed to the heavens that this man wouldn’t turn around.

She was so nervous, she didn’t even pay attention to the conversation she was having with the secretary. She simply observed the width of his back, and the arrogant way he was standing. Olivia swallowed saliva, she had never experienced that feeling of nervousness with any man. But with him she had, she didn’t even know him.

By the time Olivia reacts, she notices that he was pretending to turn around. Shit, he was going to see her! Instincts kicked in immediately, she grabbed a magazine from a small table next to her and quickly shoved her face in between the pages. Her heart was beating too fast, if he was going to talk to her or ask her anything she would be lost.

Caleb, having finished talking to his secretary, goes back inside his office, but when he turns around, he notices the presence of a young woman sitting on his couch. He stops for a moment to look at her, she was wearing what appeared to be a uniform, he figured she would be the one sent from the boutique to pick up the dress.

The brown frowned as he couldn’t see the girl’s face, she was deep in that magazine which by the way was the other way around, what the hell was she reading, he tried to approach her to take the magazine from her, when his private line started ringing.

He needed to take that call…

He goes back to the door of his office, but not before saying something to that girl.

-I should turn the magazine around,” she says, then closes the door.

Olivia’s eyes widen as she realizes that the damn magazine was upside down. And that man had figured it out, for crying out loud! She was so stupid she didn’t realize she was making a fool of herself.

When she heard the sound of the door, she put the magazine down and looked at the secretary with her arms crossed.

-Are you crazy?

-What about the dress?

-If you didn’t want to see it, you could have made up another excuse than using the magazine upside down.

-Where’s the dress?

-Here.

Olivia’s duty was to check it right there, but she didn’t want to risk that man coming out again and replaceing her. She grabbed the bag and bolted for the elevator.

She held the bag tightly to her chest, coincidences did exist, who would have thought that the same guy she saw entering the store was the one who called to return the dress. Good God, she was in a bad mood.

But worst of all, why the f**k didn’t she want him to look at her? What was wrong with him seeing her, she couldn’t replace any explainable reason. Why did she have to freeze when she saw him, she denied.

-That man must be very important to be in these offices. Oh f**k, and I came here to make a fool of myself – The young woman slaps her forehead a couple of times with the palm of her hand – Why did I do that, it was hard for me to show my face, you brute, you are a brute, Olivia Millán.
