Sold To The Demon Alpha -
Chapter 42
Aria’s POV
I flinched when I opened my eyes and saw that everywhere was so bright.
Why was everywhere this bright?
Because it was morning, I realized with a frown and as I closed my eyes as tried to open it again, I felt my head throb.
God, why did I drink so much?
Heading to the bathroom, I saw Grace coming out and she looked at me curiously, her eyebrows raised.
“When did you get back?” She asked with a gaze that made me wonder why she was looking at me like that.
“Uh, I didn’t come back with you guys?” I asked and she was about to shake her head but stopped.
“Never mind. You look like you need a thousand naps.”
Nodding, I held my head and waved at her as I walked into the bathroom and looked at my reflection in the mirror.
My hair looked like it was a bird’s nest, the make up on my face had smeared in different places and I felt like I had not taken water in ten days.
Tip to myself? Never drink like that again.
I was about to leave the front of the mirror when all of the memories of last night hit me at once.
I remembered meeting my best friend Nicole in the bathroom and coming outside with her, after which she had left early because she had a test the next morning.
I had then proceeded to try out the Bloody Mary drink and at first, I had thought it was horrid but an entire cup later, when Sophia had gotten vodka for us to take shots, I had been the first to volunteer to drink.
Sophia had pulled me to the dance floor and the rest was…
What had happened after that?
I was not sure.
Resolving to ask Sophia later, I entered the bathroom and removed my dress, bringing it close to my nose when I froze.
Because I knew this scent.
I was only ever around him these days a handful of times but his scent was imprinted in my memory.
And like a key to a locked door, it released the rest of my memories and I froze.
Roma had come for me.
I remembered running my hands through his hair and realizing how soft it actually felt. Holding onto those large arms for support as I left the chaos that was the club. Snnuggling into him and being removed from the car like a baby.
I remembered asking him to stay with me.
I remembered kissing him on the lips… And him kissing me back.
I remembered asking him to stay with me.
I remembered kissing him on the lips… And him kissing me back.
Holy s**t!
My hand flew to my lips and I touched it, my eyes widening in shock.
Had I been the one to k**s him? Or it had been otherwise?
I was sure that it was the former.
“Oh my God.” I screamed and rested my head against the shower, mortified.
I had kissed Roma while I was drunk.
How was I ever going to face him now?
I had honestly believed that the k**s was a dream when I first opened my eyes. That it was just my wishful thinking and my deep rooted crush on him manifesting.
Holding the towel to my chest, I headed to my room, my hands still on my lips and stopped when I saw a bottle of water and advil on my bedside table.
Had this been here before I woke up or did it just come now?
Looking at my bed, I ran to it and knelt down to take a sniff, freezing when Roma’s scent was on the sheets and realized that I had not imagined any of it at all.
Roma had been in my bed last night. It was real. Everything was real.
Could he possibly like me?
Was that why he had stayed when I asked him to or let me k**s him? Or had he just been indulging me because I was drunk?
Taking the Advil, I threw on a dress and headed to the kitchen, my mind stuck on what everything that happened last night could mean.
Sophia smirked when I entered the kitchen.
“You look like you had a good time last night.” She looked a lot better than I did and I envied her ability to not look like she was going through a hangover even though she had drank a lot more than I did.
Pulling me onto a stool, she pushed the bowl of soup she had been eating from towards me.
“Eat. It’s hangover soup. It will make you feel better. And once you start to drink as often as I do, it won’t hurt as much when you wake up the next morning.”
“You, dear, are a raging alcoholic and there will be no next time.”
“Why? You looked so edible in that dress. I’ve sent all of your pictures to you so that you can see. Every man in that club had their eyes on you and that curvy a*s of yours that you have hidden in yet another sundress again.” She answered with an eye roll and I stuck out my tongue at her as I took some spoons from the soup.
Heading to the fridge, she removed two bottles of water and was walking back towards me when she stopped by the window.
Heading to the fridge, she removed two bottles of water and was walking back towards me when she stopped by the window.
“Come and see. It’s your crush.” She whispered to me and I ran to the window, glueing my eyes to see that she was right.
Roma was standing downstairs, his hands in his pocket as he spoke to Raphael and I felt my n*****s tighten, my entire body throbbing suddenly with want as I watched him.
I wondered shyly if he had liked the k**s and if I had even kissed him right. I didn’t have a lot of experience with boys, only a couple of k****s here and there but I had read enough smut to fill up for my nonexistent s****l life. I knew what that throbbing feeling in my core meant. I was attracted to Roma like a moth to a flame.
“He was the one that brought you yesterday. Grace told me this morning when I asked her how we got back. That one of the sentinels was also there but left with us. Your face is turning red, Ari. Did something happen between you too?” She whispered, her eyes widening with excitement and I shook my head quickly, because telling her about the k**s might just get her hopes up. And mine.
And it could very well be a mistake.
Quickly heading back to finish my soup, I assisted Sophia to tidy the kitchen as she told me about the human boy she had met and exchanged numbers with.
Parting ways to go and continue our different duties for the day, I headed to the infirmary and walked into Scian’s office.
She was not on seat, so I figured she would probably be attending to a patient and decided to help her arrange the desk.
I was behind her desk, sorting out the papers on her table when the door opened.
“Scian, good morning, where do I put….” My voice trailed off when I raised my head because the person looking at me was not Scian.
It was Roma.
