Chapter 1079 The Real Deal

Horace was a middle-aged man of somewhat rotund proportions. When he noticed Alex only giving a nod of acknowledgment, rather than fawning over him with handshakes, Horace's chubby face darkened in displeasure.

"Young man, where did you graduate from? If you're not thriving in your job, you should consider helping me in Horington for my cousin's sake. We're short of staff there, and the pay won't disappoint you. After all. I'm a person of considerable standing in Horington." His tone was brash and assertive.

Subconsciously, Horace was rather dissatisfied with Alex's indifferent attitude toward him. He wanted to assert the significance of his position in hopes that Alex would ingratiatingly curry favor with him. Perhaps I'll consider treating you to a decent meal if you come to your senses.

Setting down his glass, Alex seemed amused. He smiled and said, "It seems like you're quite an influential figure. Our quaint Nebula City can't compare to a metropolis such as Horington, to be sure. Might I ask why you have graced us with your presence, Mr. Hernandez?"

Stefan, seated nearby, detected the tension in their conversation and realized that his distant cousin had irritated Alex and wanted to intervene.

However, just as he was about to rise and diffuse the situation, he caught a glance from Alex which promptly silenced him.

He could only pray that Horace wouldn't further agitate Alex, as even he wouldn't be able to help his cousin then.

Horace's face remained impassive as he listened to Alex addressing him as Mr. Hernandez. He had only assumed that the insolent young man had come to his senses after realizing what a big shot Horace truly was. He must be thinking of ways to butter me up right now.

His lips twitched nonchalantly as he picked up a piece of meat, munched leisurely, and then said with a deliberate clam, Though Nebula City is small, its Four Seas Corporation is rather famous. I'm here to discuss business with Mr. Jefferson. I gather you must have heard of Four Seas Corporation, have you

not?"

Alex nodded. As the chairman of Four Seas Corporation, how could he not have heard of the company before?

Seeing Alex's nod, Horace continued, "Since you've heard of Four Seas Corporation, you must know its strength. Mr. Jefferson and I are old acquaintances. Even a man of his status shows me a great deal of respect."

Horace's words were meant to make Alex realize just how much influence he wielded as well as make the latter regret his audacity to merely nod while greeting Horace earlier.

However, Stefan was rendered speechless by his cousin's boastful remark and covered his face in shame

Well, well. How lucky is he to spout hot air to a real big shot like Alex? Things are going to get really embarrassing when Alex's true identity is revealed!

Even a mere nod from Alex had been a favor due to Stefan's presence. Oblivious to the fact, Horace continued to make a spectacle of himself.

While Horace did have a business in Horington, it was a small operation. He had visited Nebula City as he had heard of Stefan's acquaintance with the chairman of Four Seas Corporation. Hence, Horace was

hoping for an introduction and potential collaboration

Horace picked up another piece of meat. The corners of his mouth were smeared with oil, but he was seemingly oblivious to his own sloppy state.

"By the way, young man, we've been talking for so long but I still don't know your name" Horace pur down his fork and addressed Alex

With a knowing smile, Alex replied. "Mr. Hernandez, my surname is Jefferson. You may simply call me

Alec
