Spoiled by Eight Uncles (Lily)
Chapter 1355 Death

The bullet flew and hit the strand of bad aura mercilessly, pinning it in place.

Jean slowly emerged from the Concealment Formation.

The black-robed man felt his sanity snap, wishing with all his might that he could just kill Jean right then. She's just a weak ghost! I could have easily eliminated her with a snap of my fingers! However, he knew that escaping was the priority at the moment. Thus, he couldn't afford to waste even a second.

So, he had no choice but to inch away from Jean, feeling exceedingly frustrated. The black-robed man was so frustrated and enraged that he almost lost all of his rationality.

Regardless, he quickly suppressed his resentment and hastily changed his path without saying a word.

He didn't know what the bullet was made of. Still, he could tell it was powerful enough to immobilize him. As a result, he had to decisively abandon a part of his spirit consciousness that was nailed down. He had just turned around when Blake and that cunning old man began to rain down a barrage of attacks on him.

It turned out that he had been deceived by their cheap ploy!

Of all the... These insidious b*stards!

The black-robed man was shocked, furious, and worried. He desperately wanted to escape but found all of his routes blocked.

The only possible breakthrough seemed to be Jean. She was the weakest of the three. So, it didn't even matter that she had that strange gun in hand, as she was still the easiest to defeat. Unfortunately, Blake had taken his moment of inattention to shield her behind him!

The black-robed man felt the metallic tang of iron flowing down his lips. If he had known their plan, he wouldn't have switched lanes just to flee. He should have attacked Jean immediately!

Blake had always been the silent and ruthless type in battle. So, he didn't utter even a single sound as he attacked the shadow with his Dark Flame Sword. His blow struck true, and he ended the shadow's life just like that.

If the black-robed man had been a Late Emperor Realm cultivator, Blake would have been stuck in a very one-sided fight.

Even though the black-robed man was in tatters, Blake wouldn't have been able to pull out a win at all.

When Lilly and Ivan fought the black-robed man, they had to work together in order to triumph. Lilly was simply an Early Emperor Realm who had just gotten herself a new Order under her belt. This time, the shadow was fighting against Blake, who was also an Early Emperor Realm, alone.

Unfortunately, the overly cautious black-robed man's first strategy was to escape.

If he had fought Blake head-on, Blake truly wouldn't have been so confident that they would come out on top.

Jean breathed a sigh of relief and asked urgently, "Is he dead?"

Blake frowned as he surveyed the area. The surrounding shadows and bad aura had disappeared as if he had truly been exterminated.

There was no trace of his escape either.

"We'll replace out if he's dead... with another strike."

Then, he promptly swung his Dark Flame Sword downward, ending any possible hope of survival for the black-robed man!

He had figured that his opponent wouldn't be able to feign his death or conceal his existence for more than a radius of five feet. So, he didn't hesitate to blow every speck of dirt apart within that particular area.

Mount Everest rumbled as Blake started to overturn the entire area.

On the other hand, 10 feet underground, the faint consciousness of the black-robed man was filled with nothing but sheer, unadulterated hatred.

It would have been one thing to be killed by Emperor Eastmount. In fact, it would have made his pride feel a lot better.

He had always considered Emperor Eastmount as his one and only opponent.

Thus, everything he had done was to prepare for a future confrontation with Emperor Eastmount.

He could have found it within himself to eventually come to terms with the fact that he had been defeated by Emperor Eastmount and reduced to nothing but a mere wisp. That wasn't the case here! He had never expected to be defeated by some beginners!

Alas, reality had given him a hard slap across the face. Now, he had no choice but to fake his death, burrow into the ground, and not move a muscle.

This was simply unacceptable!

Nonetheless, before he could vow vengeance, he felt the ground tremble around him. Blake was actually doing his d*mnest to replace him by using his sword to dig around like a simple farmer. This time, he was spewing blood out of sheer fury.

The long sword descended, destroying everything in its path. The black-robed man knew that this time, he wouldn't be able to escape from his plight.

He was now nothing but a speck of wisp filled with resentment. Still, it seemed that his eyes had somehow materialized as he glared at Blake venomously.

His piercing shriek echoed in the void, "You! You people are truly impressive! But do you really think you can kill me?"

Then, he bellowed, "As long as King Earthid is alive, I will continue to exist. Kill him if you dare! Hahahaha! As long as he lives, I will never die! Never!"

This time, the last trace of bad aura from the black-robed man was completely extinguished.

Unfortunately, Blake didn't feel the slightest bit relieved. Instead, he felt a heavy burden in his heart.

What the other person said... was indeed correct.

The heart of a human was a complex thing indeed. So, it was only natural for everyone to possess a dark side. The only difference lay in whether the noble side could suppress and restrain their darker half. As long as King Earthid lived on, his vow of "no one will attain enlightenment until all beings are saved from hell" would also continue to be a persistent belief.

Besides, they couldn't truly go ahead and kill King Earthid just like that.

Jean clenched the corner of her clothes, falling silent.

In the end, Crawford Ancestor sighed and said wearily, "Let's go. Let's replace our baby. I'm worried about her."

The child had been missing for several days. What if she was injured? What if she was hungry or crying?

Crawford Ancestor's gaze hardened, and he immediately strode in a certain direction. "I sense the presence of a small ghost beast. Let's go!"

...

On the other hand, a small mountain village in the Human Realm seemed tranquil.

There was a small courtyard with old and simple buildings dotting the mountainside. Nonetheless, it was kept clean.

An old man dressed in liturgical vestments was writing on a piece of paper when suddenly his pen trembled, and a drop of ink fell onto the paper. The old man remained silent and calmly placed his pen down.

Then, he sat at the tea table and slowly brewed a cup of tea, pouring one for himself and another for the person sitting across from him.

Across from him was the very spot where Lilly had visited during her spiritual journey.

The old man sighed and said slowly, "Although he suppressed and sealed me here, I could leave if I wanted to."

Then, he murmured, "Yet, I chose not to leave and instead added several layers of restrictions on myself, using his power to completely suppress me in these mountains... Little one, do you know why?" There was no response from the other side.

The old mansion fell silent as if patiently listening. The old man finally said, "Because suppressing me is suppressing him. Sealing me is sealing him."
