Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 652
The morning was lively, the kind of chaos only a close-knit family can create.
But whenever the mother-daughter bond took center stage, Kendrick and Chad felt like they were intruding.
Not long after, Molly announced with a yawn, "Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, I'm super sleepy. I'm heading to bed. Don't wake me up for lunch."
As she climbed the stairs, Chad's eyes followed her until she disappeared around the corner. "Molly!"
She looked back, slightly annoyed, "Yeah, yeah, I got it. I won't walk into the wrong room."
She passed by her old bedroom and headed straight for the master bedroom.
Chad turned back to his parents with a chuckle, "Mom, let Molly rest for a few days. When she goes back to work, let's ease her in gradually, no need to throw her into the deep end. She's under a lot of pressure." Coleen, proud of her daughter, replied, "When I was in the hospital, she handled everything from the ground up. Meetings, records, you name it."
Chad insisted, "It's different now. Her mindset is different. Rotating roles will only benefit her."
Coleen's dream of retiring early seemed to be on hold.
Later, Chad returned to the bedroom, replaceing Molly still asleep. When she woke up, she was startled to replace Chad shirtless, "Chad, wake up! Why on earth aren't you wearing a shirt to sleep?"
He sat up, the blanket sliding off, revealing his toned muscles, "It's more comfortable this way."
Molly, trying to ignore his defined abs, fetched last night's pajamas and threw them at him, "Wear something to bed from now on, or I'm not sleeping here."
"Tonight, then," Chad replied, slipping into his casual grey home wear, "Let's go grab some food."
Molly nodded, "You go ahead. I'll change."
Meanwhile, at the Cedillo family home, Anya was curious about the bride's first day but felt it improper to intrude on the Byrne family. So, she soaked up the sun on the lawn, chatting with her aunt and playing with a soft toy, "Auntie, what's a bride supposed to do on her first day at home?"
Mia, watching her precious son roll around on the playmat, replied jokingly, "Count money."
"If it were me, I'd count money. But your aunt, I guess she's catching up on sleep."
Picking up her son, feeling his warm, rosy cheeks, Mia mused, "No wonder fairies are said to love eating children. Makes me want to gobble up my little one too."
Andre arrived home in the afternoon to an excited greeting from his son. The visit to Cooper's turned into a showcase, with Cooper proudly parading his great-nephew to the neighbors.
The local park was filled with mothers sharing parenting tips and expensive child-rearing programs. Cooper, the only man there, compared the babies, certain none were as adorable as his nephew.
Engaging in conversations about baby health and swimming classes, Cooper was protective when someone suggested his nephew needed to lose weight through swimming, "He's perfect the way he is. We're not interested." Just then, Andre called out, "Henry, time to head home."
Approaching, Andre recognized his son and effortlessly scooped him into his arms, leaving the group of mothers in awe.
"Isn't that Andre?" they whispered, realizing the baby was indeed Andre's little gem.
Cooper called out cheekily to Andre, "Bro-in-law, there you are! Where's my sister?"
In this vibrant family dynamic, everyday moments become cherished memories, blending tradition and modernity with a dash of humor and a whole lot of love.
Andre replied, "Your sister's avoiding the sun like the plague, sent me out to fetch the kid. Let's head back. Henry's been out in the sun for half an hour this afternoon, and your sister's worried he'll tan and 'lose his looks."" Cooper turned to leave, grumbling as they walked, "A bunch of women fussing over nothing. They even complain about my nephew being chubby. Chubby? My nephew is downright adorable."
The little guy cooed in agreement, almost as if nodding along to his uncle's words.
Andre gently tapped the youngster's cheek, "No worries, his regular check-ups are all good. Your sister's got his weight under control."
