Anya shouldn't have expected anything from Chad.

When they got to the library, Anya obediently took her seat, scooting back so her feet dangled off the ground. She sat there, swinging her legs with a sulky expression. The city library wasn't packed, but it had a diverse mix of people-locals mostly, with occasional college students like them.

Leo put down his coffee mug, "Aren't you going to look for some books?"

Anya pouted, her round face looking a bit displeased.

Leo handed her his mug, "Can you get me a refill?"

Anya took the mug and headed to the familiar water station.

Leo wandered through the bookshelves, picked out a book, and glanced back at Anya, who was sitting there, looking downcast next to an open, steaming mug. Sunlight poured in, casting a serene ambiance.

After a while, Leo returned to his seat.

He placed the second book of a series Anya had borrowed earlier in front of her, "Here, read this."

Anya looked up at Leo, "Chad, why don't you like the campus library? You always prefer coming here on weekends."

Leo replied, "At first, it was because at the campus library, you try to study, and a bunch of girls would sneak photos of you. Then, I started working and didn't have time during the week." Anya bit her lip, understanding his explanation.

"So, if I go with you to the library, would they still take photos?"

"They'd take photos of us," Leo affirmed.

Anya rested her chin in her hand, pondering over his words, which seemed to make a lot of sense.

"Let's read."

"Chad, I didn't know we were coming here. I didn't bring my mug."

Leo opened his book, glanced down, then casually offered his coffee mug to Anya, "We can share this one."

Anya, with her straightforward innocence, asked, "Doesn't this mean we're indirectly kissing?"

Leo closed his book, looking at Anya for an answer, "You drink from the lid, and I'll drink from the rim. How's that?"

"Okay, then." Anya held the mug in her left hand and the lid in her right, ready to pour.

Leo watched her, careful not to scald herself or spill any on the table.

He casually tossed his book on the table, tapped it to get her attention, and motioned her to hand it over.

Anya passed him the items, watching as Leo carefully divided the water, making sure not a drop was spilled before handing it back to her.

Leo wanted to read, but before he could get into it, Anya noticed some mysterious white particles in the water and asked, "Chad, what's this?"

Leo, a bit exasperated, suggested, "Anya, there's a book called 'The World of Curiosity' over there. Why don't you check it out?"

Seeing Leo's impatience, Anya kept quiet.

Eventually, Leo read his book while Anya busied herself with pouring and drinking water.

Leo was there to read; Anya, it seemed, was there to play with water.

Every so often, Leo's attention would drift to Anya before returning to his book, his thoughts scattering...

At the Cedillo family gathering.

Chad walked over confidently, heading straight for Aaron to scoop up the Cedillo family's little bundle of joy.

Then, he took a seat next to Molly.

With the little one around, Molly couldn't bear to leave. She sat in the living room, pinching the baby's cheeks and planting a kiss, "Henry, do you love your auntie?" "Whether Henry loves his aunt I can't say, but Henry's uncle sure loves his aunt," Mia chimed in from the side.

Molly shot her best friend a look: keep it down.

Chad felt increasingly grateful to Mia, holding the little one as if he were his own child.

"Mia, what's your son saying?" Chad asked as the baby made noises.

Mia translated, "Oh, he's just having a meltdown because he has an aunt like you."

Thus, the little one was back in his aunt's arms, getting kissed until he became cranky from all the affection, eventually bursting into loud cries in the living room.

Finally, he was happily kicking his mom's arm while lying in her lap, his cries stopping as he gazed up at Mia.

Andre came over, and the baby's happy bubble burst.

When Andre picked up his son, the little one was thrilled at first, thinking high views awaited him. But his excitement faded as he felt his dad bend down to place him on the couch. Looking up with innocent eyes, Andre sat next to him, "Let's practice sitting for a bit."

The baby pouted, looking at Mia in silent protest. When she didn't respond, his body stiffened, and he flopped back on the couch, crying out in frustration.

The family elders scolded the troublemaking duo, "Andre, Molly, why do you always have to pick on my grandson? Can't you see he's still recovering?"

Andre pointed at his son, "Kids his age are already sitting up; he's still like a weebly-wobbly."

Hansen retorted, "You weren't sitting at ten months either. Did I complain?"

The room fell silent, everyone staring at the usually dominant Andre, incredulous.

For the first time, Andre had no comeback, as he had no memory of his infancy.

Curious, Mia cozied up to her husband, seeking the warmth of his embrace, and asked with twinkling eyes, "Honey, were you really not sitting at ten months? How come you were even slower than me? I was crawling by then." Bruce pondered for a moment, "Dad, wasn't Andre already pulling himself up to stand with your help by ten months?"

Hansen hesitated, "...Was he?"

He glanced at his grandson, whose adorable face seemed to jog his memory, then shrugged it off, "Ah, it's been nearly thirty years. I've forgotten. The point is, a father should never disdain his son. No matter how slow, a son is never to be looked down upon!" Molly added sharply, "Wow, dad's brief comment somehow reflected such a lengthy sentiment."

Hansen took a deep breath, his gaze shifting to Chad, he pointed towards the door, implying without naming names, "Take her away! Get her out of here."

"Dad, I can't take her with me," Officer Chad said, the frustration clear in his voice.

Hansen was livid, raising his voice, "Where's all that enthusiasm you had when you came begging me to let her marry you? Once she married into the Byrne family, she became one of yours. Why send her back to infuriate me? What happened to all the promises you made?"

Mia couldn't resist adding fuel to the fire, "He was just painting you a pretty picture back then, and you were the only one who bought it, hook, line, and sinker."
