Hank adjusted his grandson from one arm to the other and, freeing his hand, pointed at the door. "Andre, get back to Maplewood Estates. Don't even think about stepping foot in my house again."

Mia shot him a look. "Fine, then give me back my son."

"Not happening. He's my grandson!" Hank said, hugging the little bundle tighter.

Mia retorted, "And without me, you wouldn't have this adorable grandson."

Hank fired back, "And without me, you wouldn't have a husband."

The room fell silent.

Molly clapped her hands, "Well played, Dad. You actually won that round."

Mia wasn't backing down. "So, if it wasn't Andre, you think I couldn't replace someone else to marry?"

Molly, ever the instigator, piped up, "Mia, stay strong. Here's to hoping for the best!"

She glanced over at Andre, who had been silent until now. Mia had no idea her husband's gaze was fixed on her, dangerously intense.

Madison, trying to keep the peace, lightly tapped her daughter's shoulder. "Enough with the nonsense. You and Andre are married."

Mia turned to face her husband and suddenly felt a chill from his icy stare. Though she had won the verbal duel with Hank, it seemed the victory came at a cost. "Honey, I... uh, didn't mean it like that. You know I'm just naturally competitive, right?" Andre's smile was cold. "My possessiveness is just as strong."

Feeling a bit scared, Mia turned to her parents. "Mom, Dad, can I go with you?"

"What about Henry?" Madison asked, looking at her adorable grandson.

Mia shook her head. "Leave him. He's part of the Cedillo family. Let them handle him. I always get bullied there anyway. My husband bullies me, my dad bullies me, my brother Naomi bullies me, and even my sister-in-law."

Hank's face turned red, pointing at Mia. "That's not fair! How do we bully you? If anyone dared to bully you, they'd have to deal with your wrath."

"Sure!" Mia listed her grievances. "My husband loves me so much it's suffocating. My dad always thinks I'm too thin and makes me eat more. My brother Naomi thinks I'm exhausted from taking care of the baby and always wants to hold him. My sister-in-law..." "What about me? Go on, say it." Molly, ready for a fight, was stopped by Chad, who held back her hand.

Mia continued, "She always brings her in-law troubles back to bother us."

Everyone laughed, except for Molly, who felt slighted.

Aaron Madison thought his daughter was showing off a bit too much. "Well, then suffer in the Cedillo family. Your dad and I are leaving."

After a few more exchanges, Hank was the happiest, Naomi looked resigned. "Mia's brain, I swear."

Hank told his daughter, "Learn from Mia how to speak artfully."

Molly retorted, "Isn't this the time for your daughter-in-law to be mad at you?"

Hank dismissed the conversation. "Talking with you is pointless. I'm off to sleep with my grandson."

Cradling the little one, Hank opted for the elevator, avoiding the stairs for safety. Henry, for his part, didn't mind who held him as long as he was comfortable.

Naomi went off to be busy, Bruce called for Chad, and only Molly, a timid Mia, and a stoic Andre remained in the living room.

"Ah, some people try to replicate my return to my mom's house and fail," Jade teased her best friend.

Mia warned Molly, "Don't get too cocky. Your days are numbered."

Andre stood up, silently pushing his wife towards the door, ready to leave. Mia hesitated. "Honey, I want to go out and have some fun~"

Andre's response was cold. "Ask one of your other husbands to take you out then."

"No, no, it... Honey, I was just angry earlier. Don't be mad."

Mia regretted her words. "Honey, I was just joking with Dad."

As they disappeared around the corner, Molly could barely contain her laughter at Mia's attempts to apologize.

"Not really, honey. I'm sorry. I was wrong, okay? Don't be mad. I love you. You're my whole heart," Mia pleaded in the distance.

Eventually, their voices faded away, and Molly, left alone in the living room, decided to head back to her room.

Just then, she saw Chad coming out of the study. Bruce, aware of his sister's marital issues, excused himself. "I'm off to see Naomi. You two chat."

Molly had no choice but to pass by Chad. "Ah well, might as well get this over with," she thought, trying to sidestep him.

But Chad stepped in her way. "You!"

Molly attempted the other side, but again, Chad blocked her. "What's the deal?"

Facing Chad, Molly's usual fiery spirit dimmed, replaced by a softer demeanor.

"How about a shopping trip? I just got my paycheck, and it's been a while since you treated yourself to something new," Chad suggested, standing tall with an air of dignity. Molly replied, "I've already done some online shopping."

Chad's paycheck had taken a hit.

He then suggested, "There's a new bistro downtown. Heard it's got a great vibe. Wanna check it out?"

""Not interested."

Chad smiled, stepping aside. "Then go rest. I'll head home to change and then off to the precinct."

But Molly stayed, looking up at the redness in Chad's eyes. "Did you pull another night shift last night?"

"You were on the night shift the night before last, too!" Since Chad visited Molly every day, she knew his work schedule like the back of her hand.

"You've pulled four night shifts this week!" Molly scolded him. "Schedules aren't supposed to be like this."

Chad rubbed the corners of his eyes. "I swapped some shifts with the guys at the station, squeezed in some time, just to take you out for a bit before you head to work." Molly felt a mix of tenderness and irritation. Huffing, she grasped the man's hand and led him towards her bedroom.

As Chad looked down at the small, delicate hand around his wrist, he chuckled softly.

Back in Molly's bedroom, she stood with a scowl and furrowed brows, pointing at her small bed. "Get undressed and get into bed. You need to sleep."

Chad, with a smile, asked, "Is Molly worried about me?"
