Hansen, leaning on his cane, shuffled over to the trash can and frowned at the sight of the discarded takeout boxes. "Why don't you eat at home more often? All this takeout isn't good for you. You'll stunt your growth." "Grandpa, I'm taller than you," Leo shot back.

Hansen's mouth fell open, but no words came out.

Leo, not missing a beat, added, "In our family, only Henry is shorter than you. The rest of us have you beat."

For a moment, the room went silent.

Then, Hansen raised his cane threateningly. "I'll show you what happens when you talk back to me!"

When Leo wasn't around, Hansen worried himself sick. But the moment he saw Leo, his temper flared, and he wanted to smack some sense into him.

Anya sighed and shook her head, holding Henry's chubby little hand. She was all too used to Chad's antics.

Molly and Mia, ignoring the grandfather-grandson spat, made their own plans. "Mia, let's go shopping tomorrow. Summer's almost here, and we need some cute dresses."

"Sure, but I'll have to sneak a mini skirt past my uncle. He'd probably throw it out if he saw it," Mia replied.

Meanwhile, little Henry was the only one fully engrossed in the showdown, his wide eyes following every move.

Even when Leo dashed to the bathroom, Henry craned his neck, excitedly watching. His tiny fists clenched in anticipation, and his mouth formed an "O" of delight. After the ruckus, Hansen pointed a warning finger at Leo. "Watch your mouth. You're starting a business now; I can make things tough for you."

Leo retorted, "Go ahead. I'll report you for market disruption and have you locked up."

Their relationship was anything but smooth!

"Try me. My son's the mayor, my son-in-law's a cop, and I have another son who's even more influential. Let's see who dares arrest me," Hansen challenged.

"I'll report you for abusing your power and bullying people. We'll see who ends up in trouble," Leo shot back.

Hansen was exasperated. "I've had enough. I really want to throttle you now!"

Ten minutes later, Mia looked at the grandfather and grandson resting on the couch. "Who won the first round?"

Leo, wiping his face, said, "Grandpa had his cane. It was an unfair fight."

"You, a young man, fighting an old man who's not as nimble, and you think I shouldn't use my cane? How shameless can you be?" Hansen countered.

Molly added, "You two should let Mia show you what a real fight looks like."

Hansen pointed at his daughter-in-law, who was holding their baby. "If she dares to lift a finger, I'll complain to her husband."

Leo, stirring the pot, said, "I've never seen a father-in-law like you. Instead of wanting the best for your children and grandchildren, you're stirring trouble between your son and daughter-in-law." Hansen, fuming, replied, "You haven't seen Mia fight. If she did, where would that leave us?"

"That's true," Leo conceded.

Mia, modestly, said, "I'm keeping a low profile lately. I need to set a good example for my son. No roughhousing, just being a gentle mom."

Their encounters were always filled with lively clashes and banter.

Anya remained silent, scrolling through her phone.

Leo glanced at her. "What are you doing?"

"Ordering food," Anya replied, showing her phone to Chad. "Look, I got us some grilled shrimp tails, barbecue ribs, three-cup chicken, steamed shrimp, and sweet and sour pork. Do we need more dishes?" Leo asked, "Have vegetables become too expensive lately? Can't afford them anymore?"

Anya sighed at Chad's sarcasm, noting the lack of veggies in her order.

So, she added a few vegetable dishes. "Dry-fried green beans, broccoli, celery with lily bulbs. Better, Chad?"

Molly noted, "Anya, you forgot to order soup."

Anya then added a "Mixed Mushroom Soup" to their order. Satisfied, she put down her phone, feeling accomplished.

Even Hansen was looking forward to the meal.

Henry, who hadn't slept well, was lulled into sleep in the car, looking through the sunroof. After some fussing, Mia managed to soothe him to sleep in her arms.

"My little stinker, today you'll sleep in your brother's bed and make it all smelly," Mia teased, placing her son in Leo's bed.

Henry looked particularly adorable asleep, nestled in the white bedding, a cute little bundle that melted their hearts.

Seeing him so peaceful, Leo couldn't resist giving him a couple of kisses. "Who says my little brother stinks? I think he smells sweet."

Anya joined in, taking a sniff and sneaking a kiss. "Auntie thinks baby smells so sweet, like milk, not stinky at all."

Molly explained, "Mia used a term of endearment. It's like how Leo calls Anya 'Anya,' but does that mean Anya is overweight?"

The conversation around the sleeping baby was filled with affection.

Soon, the food arrived, and Leo asked the delivery person for extra stools. They gathered around the table to eat, nobody daring to ask Leo about his plans, preferring to keep the conversation light to avoid waking Henry. The meal was filled with banter and light chatter, all kept to a whisper to not disturb the sleeping child.

After lunch, Hansen, feeling sleepy, lay beside Leo's bed to nap alongside his grandson.

The adults gathered around the dining table, steering the conversation towards more serious matters.

Mia mentioned, "Staying in a hotel isn't a long-term solution. The daily rate adds up, and without a kitchen, relying on takeout is expensive."

Leo responded, "I was looking at apartments, but then my parents came and extended the hotel stay for another month. Since they won't refund us, we're stuck here for now. I'm slowly looking for a place while sending out resumes for a job." Anya yawned, propping her chin on her hands, resting on the table.

Molly looked at her but remained silent, focusing on Leo. "Are you planning to work first before continuing your studies?"

"I guess I'll gain some experience while studying," Leo replied.

Mia didn't press for details, trusting Leo had a plan and not overly concerned about their future.

"How's my uncle doing these days?" Leo asked.

Mia replied, "He's either annoyed by me or by his son. He's too busy to even think about you."

Molly was curious, "Weren't you two competing every day to shower Andre with kisses, making him so spoiled? Why are you annoyed again?"

Mia said, "We're still competing to shower him with kisses every day. But! That doesn't stop us from getting annoyed."
