Coleen was filled with regret, but it was too late now. They hadn't believed their daughter back then.

They had insisted on her marrying their son, despite her reluctance.

When Chad got home, he found himself inexplicably given the cold shoulder by his parents, who wouldn't even talk to him. If Chad wanted to say something, he had to go through Molly to communicate.

One evening, he sat on the edge of the bed, watching Molly studying cultural history on her tablet.

He figured his mother's disdain for him had to have been fueled by something Molly told her, which in turn, his mother must have relayed to his father, causing them to look down on him continuously. But he didn't know what Molly had told his mother. So, Chad intentionally took a detour to Molly's side of the bed, intending to pressure her psychologically.

People who go behind others' backs to complain often feel too guilty to get too close to those they've wronged. Chad purposefully sat at the edge of Molly's bed, his hands sneaking under the blanket to grab her knees. "What made you decide to tell my mom about that? Were you happy when I was called away to be lectured?" Chad's hands slowly moved up from her knees to her thighs.

Molly felt panicked. "Called away for a lecture? So, he knows and wants to settle the score?"

"I didn't say anything wrong. We had nothing to do with each other before we got married. You forced me into this marriage. I had to let Mom know that I was a good girl before our marriage, that nothing happened between us! So that our parents wouldn't misunderstand me."

Officer Chad had successfully provoked a reaction again.

"Put down the tablet, let's go to sleep early tonight."

Molly glanced at the time. "Chad, today is an odd-numbered day. It's not your day to indulge! If you want to sleep, you sleep; I'm not going to."

Chad snatched the tablet away. "You went behind my back to complain, why should I stick to any odd or even days?"

Molly instantly scrambled out from under the blankets, attempting to flee as Chad swiftly got up, knelt on the bed, and pressed down on her back as she tried to escape.

She had planned to escape, but before she could get off the bed, she was pressed down, face-first into the mattress.

Molly could feel the familiar scent of the man behind her, the warmth of his chest, and her nightgown being lifted by Chad, feeling his unique strength and dominance. "Chad, I won't complain anymore." Seeing the situation turning unfavorable, Molly quickly showed her submissive side.

Chad, with his years of training, had a well-defined physique and strong hands, effectively restraining the woman beneath him, whispering in her ear, "Molly, you should have thought about the consequences of complaining." "Chad, you're pressing too hard on my chest."

Chad propped himself up, one hand still pressing down on Molly, flipping her over.

So she was lying on the bed facing him, Chad pressed down again. "Think about the consequences next time you complain. Matters between husband and wife should stay between us, even parents are outsiders." After saying that, Jade was in trouble.

The next day, Molly angrily went to replace her mother. "Mom, why did you tell Chad that I complained to you behind his back?"

Coleen innocently replied, "When did I say that? Neither your father nor I mentioned it."

Suddenly, thinking of her husband's profession: "..."

So, it was a trap again!

"Chad!"

In the evening, Officer Chad came home, and Molly insisted on sleeping in separate rooms. "I'll sleep with Grandma Aubree." Grandma Aubree: "That won't do, I'm not used to sleeping on the second floor."

Molly: "Then I'll sleep with my mom..."

"You dare." Kendrick.

"What's going on with you two?" the Byrne family members asked in unison about the squabbling couple.

Molly pointed at Chad. "He hit me."

Officer Chad: "..."

The whole family glanced at Chad, then back at Molly, clearly disbelieving.

"I complained to my mom about him, and he didn't like it, so he hit me."

Coleen: "Where did he hit you?"

Molly: "Everywhere."

Coleen asked, "Evidence?"

Molly blurted out, "He's a police officer, would he leave evidence of hurting someone? He's just making me suffer in silence. Anyway, I don't care. If you don't let me sleep in a separate room from him, I'm going back to my parents' house."

Before the family could respond, Molly sat aside and began "seeking revenge." "There was a case he worked on before, a PhD guy secretly killed his wife, and the police couldn't replace a breakthrough, so he hasn't been sentenced yet. Another case, a doctor secretly acupuncture his wife until she passed out, then pushed her off a balcony to marry his mistress. And another man... With so many murder cases, him hitting me without leaving marks is easy for him."

These were all cases Chad had used to dissuade Molly from marrying him, constantly reminding her, and she remembered them all.

And now, she turned them against him.

The Byrne family didn't believe her, but that night, Molly was still dragged back to the bedroom by her husband. "The PhD case has been sentenced. The doctor has been executed... Now, let's see how many injuries you have. Take off your clothes, tell me where I hit you last night, and we'll continue tonight."

Later, Chad annoyed Molly again. She was earnestly studying the history of cultural development worldwide, understanding the changes in world culture, but Chad always disturbed her. A single lesson took her almost a week to finish.

Plus, Molly heard that her parents' home had baby Henry, who was recently weaned.

So, without discussing it with Chad, she drove back to her parents' house.

Her driving skills had already been unanimously approved by her parents, and Coleen's car was frequently driven by Molly to the company with her mother, and to medical check-ups on weekends.

Just as she arrived at the Cedillo family, before she even entered, Henry's unique greeting reached her ears.

"Waaah ba ba ba ah waaah-"

The familiar crying sound belonged exclusively to the Cedillo family's little treasure.

As she pushed open the door, Henry immediately looked towards the newcomer, and upon seeing Molly, he started crying again.

He sat in the living room on a mat, surrounded by scattered ocean balls, without a fence enclosing them. Henry didn't like being confined; he would cry if he felt restrained, so the fence was removed.

In front of him, Naomi was feeding him, with Bruce sitting nearby, and Anya entertaining Henry with ocean balls.

"Big brother, what's wrong with Henry?" NaomiAnya turned around. "Auntie, you're back." She explained, "The little one was weaned off last night and stayed over to sleep. Haven't seen uncle and auntie today, seems like he's missing his mom and dad." Molly also knelt down on the floor mat, picking up the sobbing Henry. "Let auntie take a look at my little crybaby, feeling so aggrieved, aren't you, sweetheart?"

"Oh-"

Molly, holding him, said, "Auntie will take you out for some fun."

With Molly diverting his attention, the child finally stopped his crying.
