Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 894
Taylor had already gotten a taste of Officer Chapman's fists, so when she charged at Mia, Mia swung her arm wide, landing a powerful punch right on Taylor's head. The blow sent Taylor reeling backwards, losing her balance and hitting the ground, blood trickling from her nose. Mia shook her hand off, stepping toward the fallen Taylor. Annie watched the scene unfold, letting out a sigh. That little tiger's mom was just too darn adorable!
Connor's one redeeming trait: he let himself fall for his friend's wife.
"You're hurt; let me take it from here," Annie said, halting Mia in her tracks.
Annie moved forward, limbering up her wrists. Soon, the alley was filled with cries of pain.
"Take a breather; I've got this," Mia said, stepping back.
Mia disappeared for about ten minutes, the woman's cries of pain continuing in her absence. When she returned, Annie was finishing up.
Seeing Mia, Molly burst into tears, rushing over to hug her. "Mia, your arm, oh no!"
Henry, seeing his aunt getting all of the attention, felt a pang of jealousy. He was supposed to be the one clinging to his mom, wondering why his aunt got there first. Realizing her injury, Mia sighed, "Oh great, how am I gonna explain this to my husband?"
Andre had one rule: It's fine to brawl, but don't get hurt.
This time, she was out of luck and even bled.
Henry and Anya, equally shaken, clung to Mia. Henry finally found his tears in his mother's arms, his cries echoing through the mall, refusing to be consoled. Annie appeared, "Mrs. Cedillo, I have a car. Let's get you to the hospital to patch that up."
Molly nodded, "Yes, Mia, let's go."
Mia shrugged it off, "It's not that bad. If it looks worse bandaged, my husband will worry."
Annie insisted, "What if there's something on the knife? What if it scars?"
They piled into Annie's car, an odd but determined group.
Molly thanked Annie.
Annie grinned, "No need to thank me. It's what friends do."
Mia, feeling a bit awkward, asked, "Officer Chapman, what brings you here today?"
"I'm here to pick a gift for a friend's baby's one-month celebration."
Molly asked, "George's kid?"
Annie chuckled, "You're here for that too?"
Molly nodded, her usual cheer dimmed by guilt and worry.
At the hospital, the doctor treated and bandaged Mia's wound. Seeing his mom in pain, Henry cried for her. Mia, enduring the sting of the antiseptic, comforted her son with kisses, "Don't cry, mommy's okay." Henry's little mouth puckered, both upset and adorable.
Once her arm was bandaged, Molly teared up again, "I'm sorry, Mia."
Mia gently scolded her, "Oh hush, you've got nothing to apologize for. If the roles were reversed, you'd have done the same for me."
Molly knew the attacker was after her, but her friend got hurt protecting her.
Afterwards, Annie led everyone to the police station.
Easton was puzzled to see them yet again - three adults and a child, now with a young girl in tow. "This isn't how you visit people," he thought, bemused.
Mia, slightly embarrassed, looked down, while Henry, with his chubby cheeks, looked around at familiar faces, right at home.
"Look, the little tiger is here," a female colleague said, gathering around to play with Henry.
The forensic expert came out, "Molly, back again so soon?"
Molly replied, "Hello, Forensic Auntie."
Anya, feeling left out as Henry seemed to know everyone, watched as people of all ages flocked to him, eager to play and hold him.
Annie told Easton, "We really ought to give Mrs. Cedillo an award this time."
Mia, confused about the commendation, later found out whom she had fought, "Oh, that's why I was so mad. They scammed me out of $50. If I'd known, I'd have kicked them a few more times."
Anya, curious, asked, "Aunt Mia, what $50?"
Mia realized she had inadvertently helped the police catch a criminal.
On his way back, Chad thought
about Gregory's warning, "Officer et
Chad, maybe check on Havenbrook. Taylor said she'd go after your family if you touched them."
Chad, heart racing, urged, "Zisheng, step on it."
His phone rang, "Hello, Easton."
Easton started, "I've got some news for you. Brace yourself."
Andre was about to call his wife to pick them up when Mia called, "Hey, hubby, I'm at the police station again."
Andre paused for a few seconds, then, frustrated, hit the desk.
Mia heard the noise and softly asked, "Hubby, you're not mad at me, are you. But this time, it's not because I need you to bail me out." Henry's voice was in the background, babbling close to the phone.
Andre asked, "You took Henry with you again?"
Mia, looking at her inseparable son, replied, "I had no choice, honey. Come over, Kexia says I'm getting an award this time."
When Andre arrived at the station, he was shocked at his wife's bandaged arm, "What happened to your arm!" His demeanor instantly chilled the room. Molly looked down guiltily, and the police officers stepped back, not daring to provoke Andre's anger.
Mia stuttered nervously, "I was, uh, fighting that thug. Just got grazed by a knife."
Andre went over, holding his wife's arm to check, while Mia winced, "It's nothing, honey. I've still got our chubby baby to hug."
At that moment, their chubby baby was in Aunt Anne's arms, happily pulling a lollipop from Aunt Anne's drawer and sucking on the wrapper.
Seeing his dad coming over, Henry
excitedly waved his arms, wanting a hug from his dad. But Andre's focus was solely on Mia, leaving Henry feeling a bit left out, so he decided to stay in Aunt Anne's arms, content with nibbling on the wrapper.
Molly apologized, "I'm sorry, Andre. It's because of me again."
