Slowly I grabbed Ahkari's hand that was wrapped around me, and released her grip. Without letting go door. Ahkari was glaring at nothing in particular but now that I was standing in front of her, I can see that h face and she finally looked at me.

This castle has no windows it's so weird. I guess other than the one at the very top but that was it.

"Should be. If not I'm sure we can handle it or I can teleport us back in here." She said.

I sighed. "Okay lets go."

As Ahkari and I walked to the doors of the castle my excitement started to grow. The place looks absolutely beautiful. A stark contrast to the cave this little world is buried in. The castle itself if absolutely stunning. Even if it doesn't have windows. Once we reached the doors Ahkari let go of my hand to pushed them open. The both of us gasped together as we walked out into the sunlight.

How is this possible? Had Ahkari and I only slept for an hour, or longer than we originally thought? That couldn't be it.

We had no way to tell the time though. Ahkari and I looked around in astonishment and then at each other.

"How is this possible? It should be night time right?" I asked my mate confused.

Ahkari shurgged.

"I thought it would be as well." She mumbled.

"Are there other realms like this? Ones where the sun never goes down?" I asked her as I noticed the sun was in the same exact spot as when we got here.

"No. There are not." Ahkari replied.

My eyes snapped to her. She seemed to be lost in thought. I walked behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. She placed her hands over my arms and I could feel her mind calm.

"We should explore anyways." My mate said after a moment of perfect silence.

"Where should we start?" I asked her.

Ahkari turned her head so she could look in my eyes.

"Where do you want to start?" She asked me.

My eyes scanned the grounds until they landed on the rolling hills that had wild daisies sprouting out everywhere.

"There." I said pointing.

Ahkari looked where I pointed then turned back to me with a wide smile.

"Really?" She asked and I nodded. "I didn't think you were the flocking in the flowers type." She teased.

I started to walk away, pulling my mate along with me, and ignoring her little comment.

"It's furthest away from everyone." I told her giggling.

"And why do we have to be so far from everybody?" She asked amused.

I stopped walking so I could turn and look at her.

Ahkari let me drag her all the way up to the top of the hill. As soon as we were there I playfully tackled her to the ground. We wrestled around in the grass for a few minutes. Ahkari pinned me down every single time.

Even when I would manage to get the upper hand and climb on top of her, she would easily flip us around. My agitation was starting to grow at not being able to take her down after she pinned me to the grass for the 14th time. "Don't be made baby. You started it." She whispered in my ear as she started to place open mouth kisses on my neck.

"One day." I said. "One day I will be able to take you down." I told her making her chuckle against my skin.

Ahkari pulled back to look me in the eyes.

"Once we are fully mated you will be just as strong as me. We can spar together as much as you want. I'm sure you'll be whooping my a*s a bunch in no time." She told me.

I stared up into her deep blue eyes as my hands trailed her body.

"How do I mark you?" I asked softly.

Ahkari's eyes went wide for a moment before softening.

"For Demons it's some blood exchange and some magic words. But we can worry about that when we get home." She said, and then dipped back to my neck.

It's so hard to focus when she starts kissing my body like this.

"Why can't we do it now?" I asked a little breathless.

"Because I'm not sure what will happen. The first mark didn't go as planned and I think it would be best to wait until after our mission is over." She told me.

Ever since she marked me my emotions have been all over the place. Was she now regretting marking me because of my mood change?

Ahkari's eyes went wide.

I knew Ahkari had been worried about me. As much as she tried to act like she wasn't. I could feel it through the bond but I also heard her talk to her sister last night.

At first I thought I was dreaming since I wasn't woken up to do my shift of the watch. It wasn't until the next morning when my mate confirmed she did our shift with her twin that I realized it wasn't a dream. Not only that but I'm not dumb. I know something is different about me and that I'm distracted.

It just feels like nothing else in the world matters other than Ahkari. I'm becoming a total simp for her and I shouldn't blame her for wanting to wait or for being worried about me.

"Okay. We can wait until we get home." I told her as I leaned up to capture her lips again.

"It'll give you the time to make sure this is what you want. Not that you have much of a choice now that you bare my mark. I'll follow you to the ends of the earth. But... I still want you to be sure about all of this." She told me.

"I don't need to think about it. This is what I want." I told her honestly.

Mate bond or not, Ahkari is the girl for me. My one and only. I know that there will be one last conversation to have before we complete our bond but that can wait until we get home.

Ahkari smiled brightly at me and I could feel her smugness through the bond. Her lips crashed down on mine in a feverish kiss.
