Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love
Chapter 387 Go Back To The Fang Family

Sure enough, Doris shrank back into his arms.

"Thank you, Jay."

Jay almost couldn't believe that those words came out of Doris' lips.

"Doris, your beauty and gentleness right now are so captivating," said Jay blithely.

"Wasn't I always like this?" The truth was, Doris had always been straightforward. But right now they were seeing each other in a different light.

People, including Doris, tend to conceal their true colors and put their best foot forward when dealing with strangers.

He thought that maybe he was only beginning to discover who she really was.

Jay smiled helplessly. "Yes, this is how you used to be. Very gentle."

Obviously he was lying. There was nothing about Doris that could be associated with the word 'gentle'.

However, when Jay thought about it carefully, it was Doris' unique personality that had drawn him to her.

There were plenty of women with a pleasing persona, but ones with a strong personality were rare.

Jay had never met anyone he could consider as a kindred spirit. At first, he only liked Doris because she was interesting.

He'd been with all kinds of women before. Some were pretentious and childish, others were flattering, and several only pretended to be gentle.

Only Doris treated him like an ordinary person. His life had never been so colorful and exciting.

She was the only person who made him see how the life he used to live was not a good one after all.

He was grateful that she came into his life. Truly, Doris could sometimes be a little controlling, but he loved her anyway.

In the end, it was all that mattered.

With Jay looking after her, Doris fell asleep soon.

Surprisingly, the natural scent of Jay's body brought her comfort.

When Doris woke up the next day, Jay was nowhere in sight.

She stood up and stretched slightly. The baby in her belly suddenly moved. Doris fondled her tummy with gladness. "Baby, are you excited to come out and see the world?" The baby kicked from inside her as if in response.

"Great! Let's go downstairs after washing up!" said Doris with a smile.

She got out of bed and went to the bathroom.

Unexpectedly, she saw a mobile phone on the sink. She frowned and guessed that it was Jay's.

She checked for her phone; it was in her pocket. So indeed, the phone had to be Jay's.

Right now, Jay seemed too mysterious and baffling for Doris.

She was curious about his private life and the kind of friends he had.

With that, she secretly picked up his phone to look into it.

What she saw on the screen stunned her.

Why? Because on it was a picture of a very attractive woman.

She was absolutely lovely.

Doris couldn't remember a lot of things, but she knew exactly how she looked like.

She was certain that the woman in the photo wasn't her.

Who was the woman, then?

She had no idea at all.

She spent some time looking up the top models residing in the city, but none of them resembled the woman in the photo.

Her suspicion grew more and more intense. There was a good chance that the woman was Jay's lover.

Although Doris was sure that she didn't have any feelings for Jay now, he was still her husband. It would be a shame to have him cheating on her.

Doris felt like she was cheated!

A voice calling from outside interrupted her contemplation. "Doris! It's time for breakfast, dear."

"Yes, I'm coming!" Doris came out with Jay's phone at hand and told him, "It's yours. I found it by accident."

Doris watched out for his response and scrutinized the expression on his face.

Feeling a little uncomfortable under her gaze, Jay took the phone and said, "Yes, I forgot to pick it up when I washed my hands a while ago." "And your memory was supposed to be better than mine," Doris said with mockery.

"That's true." While he was joking, Jay noticed that the smile on Doris' face was fading. He quickly changed the topic. "You actually have a sharp memory. You just forgot things now, but I'm sure they will come back to you soon."

"Well, I hope so." Seeing that Jay didn't plan on explaining some more, Doris decided not to pry.

Then the two of them walked down the stairs together.

The dining table had been set. On it was all kinds of meat plus fried tofu. "The nutritionist said that it's good for pregnant women to eat more tofu, so this morning, I asked the servant to fry tofu for you. Do you like it?"

The truth was that Doris didn't like to eat tofu. When she was a child, there was barely any food in their village, but every household could make tofu. So one would normally replace tofu on every household's table She decided that she had had enough tofu for the rest of her lifetime.

But when she saw the caring look on Jay's face, she pretended to appreciate it.

So she nodded with a smile. "Yes, tofu is my favorite."

"That's good. Then go and eat plenty!" Jay sat down and pulled the plate of fried tofu to her side.

Doris pulled the chair, sat down, and took a bite of the tofu.

To her surprise, the tofu tasted much better than she remembered, so she helped herself to another serving.

Jay looked at her intently.

Doris said in embarrassment, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Jay answered slowly, "I have something to discuss with you. My mother called and said that grandpa's illness seemed to be getting worse. She asked when we would be free to visit."

Mother and grandfather?

Doris couldn't remember any of them.

"But I won't be able to recognize them. What should I say when we meet?" Doris asked awkwardly.

"I know. So I told mom that you're busy these days. I can go on my own at first when I have the time," said Jay.

Doris answered, nodding. "Okay."

Jay took out a paper towel, gracefully wiped his hands, and threw the tissue away.

He stood up and said, "I have something to deal with the group today. Doris, please stay at home and don't go out. You are pregnant. You should be responsible for yourself and our baby, you understand?" "How about you?" Doris mumbled.

Was this man responsible?

If he was a responsible man, how could he have an affair with another woman?

"What did you say?" asked Jay as he didn't hear what she said clearly.
