Farrah had just walked out of the office with a bunch of documents when she saw Germaine coming her way, She faltered, and Germaine slowed. Their gazes met.

Both women were around the same age, but Germaine carried herself with dominance and authority. Her gaze was cold and sharp as she looked at Farrah.

Her form–fitting sult also made her seem particularly shappy and quick. At the same time, her short skirt, which revealed her long legs, added a hint of sexiness to her.

Farrah retracted her gaze and stepped forward with her documents, wanting to brush past Germaine. However, the latter moved to stand in her way.

She said coldly, “I’m Germaine Keller, Mr. Locke’s personal secretary. I only reminded you yesterday because I know him very well.”

“Thank you for that, Ms. Keller. Farrah smiled at her and moved aside to leave.

Germaine moved with her, remaining in her way. “You seem quite indignant, Ms. Tate.”

Her icy gaze landed on Farrah’s face. Yes, she’d already investigated Farrah. She knew Farrah’s name and department.

Just then, the elevator doors opened. Adrian happened to hear Germaine’s words, but he didn’t leave the elevator. It was reserved for him, and he kept the doors open as he tucked his hands into his pockets. He looked at his feet as he listened to the conversation outside.

Farrah knew Germaine was picking on her, so she pursed her lips and stepped forward, boldly meeting the latter’s gaze. She asked, “You might be Mr. Locke’s personal secretary, but what does that have to do with me?”

Germaine was pissed to see her acting all innocent and naive.

Farrah continued, “And how personal are you?”

Germaine was rendered speechless.

then Adnan heard the conversation from the elevator, he couldn’t help furrowing his brows. It was hard. › read the emotions in his eyes, though.

ermaine’s expression turned steely. Farrah looked like she was smiling gently, but the mockery in it was vident.

he latter dropped her smile and started to leave, but Germaine stretched out a hand to stop her ore. Farrah got a little angry. “Why do you keep picking on me? It’s not like we have anything to do with ach other. We don’t even overlap when it comes to work!”

armaine was pissed that Farrah had mocked her when she was the CEO’s secretary. She didn’t let it now, though. All she did was look at Farrah coldly and say, “I only wanted to remind you to put your cus on your work.”

What makes you think I’m not already doing that?” Farrah asked.

hat pissed Germaine off even more. She gnashed her teeth, almost about to lose control and explode.

ermaine’s gaze turned frosty. “Slander and libel are punishable by law, you know.”

m just reminding you. You don’t have to believe me if you don’t want to.” Farrah chuckled. “It wouldn’t ɔde well for your reputation if you accidentally became a homewrecker, right?”

he pushed Germaine’s hand away and brushed past her.

‘arrah!” Germaine turned to glare at her back. She snarled, “You’ll receive a lawyer’s letter if you spread mors about Mr. Locke being married!”

arrah ignored her and sped up her footsteps. Germaine was so annoying!

drian heard the whole conversation from inside the elevator. His aloof face was devoid of emotion, but s eyes glinted slightly.

hortly after, Germalne strode into the elevator. Her heart jolted when she met Adrian’s gaze, and she aled. Then, she composed herself and stood beside him. “Good day, Mr. Locke. Which floor are your
