Chapter 22 She’s Not a Puichover
They arrived at the 22nd floor. Adrian strode out as soon as the doors opened. Germaine followed him, feeling mad at herself and worried she’d ruined his impression of her.
She was intelligent enough to realize that his earlier words indirectly defended Farrah. And the fact that Farrah could call out his name in public during such an important occasion….
A thought formed in her mind. Could it be that Adrian and Farrah knew each other? Could Farrah be the woman in his heart?
Germaine’s heart sank at that thought, and she couldn’t help feeling glum.
Farrah didn’t work overtime that day. She was frustrated because Natasha had repeatedly told her she was forbidden from participating in the designs for “Enduring Moments“.
When she got home, she sat cross–legged on the couch as she typed away on the tablet, ranting to Mr. Moonlight about her troubles.
He was a designer, too, so he knew how difficult it was for a rookie to navigate the industry. He also knew how competitive things were–one really needed to depend on one’s work to get a chance to even speak up. So, he started comforting and encouraging her.
When Adrian got home, he saw Farrah chatting away with someone with a bright smile on her face. She wasn’t on the phone or anything, but it was easy to tell she was having a conversation.
She looked up at him. “Back already?”
“Yeah.” He approached her and took the tablet from her
what are you doing?” She reached for the tablet but couldn’t get it.
He set it aside and sat on the couch. “How was your first day of work? Have you gotten used to things?” She was surprised to hear that. Was he concerned about her?
