Chapter 77 Farrah Stands Up for Her Friend

Adrian’s intense gaze narrowed as he casually approached Farrah and Ryan. Along the way, he politely greeted guests who approached him.

Ryan knew about Farrah’s close friendship with Riley. In truth, the three of them were classmates for years, and Farrah had witnessed Riley and Ryan’s relationship from the start. Aware that Riley had been mistreated recently, Ryan felt guilty.

He pleaded, “Please, Farrah, this isn’t the place to discuss personal matters. Can we talk tomorrow? You can yell at me all you want then.”

Despite Ryan’s hushed tone, Adrian, who was standing nearby, overheard their conversation. He stood with a drink in hand, his other hand in his pocket. Gazing at the pool, his brows furrowed together as he wondered if Ryan might be Farrah’s boyfriend,

“You just got lucky to land a job at Prestige Group,” Farrah sneered, looking Ryan up and down. “You’re not some big shot now, so why the attitude?”

Ryan felt embarrassed and was worried about potential misunderstandings. “Farrah…”

“Ryan, Riley put her career on hold to have your baby when she was on the rise. She gave up her dream job! Do you think that’s just expected of her? Do you think that’s what every woman should do when they get married?”

Adrian finally understood his wife was standing up for another woman. He also knew that Riley was an investor in Fairytale Cottage and even had her investigated afterward.

“The last time I saw her, she was still wearing clothes from college,” Farrah said, her voice tinged with sadness.

“She’s always thinking of you, trying to save money. But what about you? Do you ever give her spending money without her having to ask? She willingly gave away her wedding gift and even contributed 50 thousand dollars just so you could buy a house!”

Meanwhile, Ryan was sweating bullets, terrified his boss might overhear. However, Farrah grew more passionate as she spoke.

“Okay, okay,” Ryan pleaded, his hands clasped together. “I get it. I’ll change, I promise.”

“If you say one more hurtful thing to Riley, I’ll sew your mouth shut with stitches just like the ones Riley got after her C–section!” Farrah threatened, trying to keep her voice down. “If you don’t treat Riley right and keep this attitude up, I’ll make sure you leave Prestige Group!”

Ryan suddenly realized the gravity of the situation. Farrah had an invitation to this banquet too, so she was either working at the company or was someone of status.
