Chapter 78 Someone Wants to Harm Farrah

Adrian heard Farrah’s words and smirked, feeling amused as he finished his drink. This woman was quite something, already acting like she was the person in charge, deciding who would stay and who would “Farrah, thank you for calling me out. I’ll change, I promise. I’ll treat Riley better,” Ryan assured Farrah. “I’m working hard for a better life for her and our child. It’s not easy climbing the corporate ladder. Please, jus let me off the hook tonight.”

Farrah’s tone softened as she looked him over. “Remember your wedding vows. Think about everything you’ve been through together just to get where you are when you have a moment.”

As their mutual friend, she genuinely wanted them to be happy.

“Of course,” Ryan replied, his back drenched in sweat. He flashed a placating smile before quickly walking

away.

Farrah did not pursue him further as she had already said her piece. After Ryan left, she found herself locking eyes with Adrian, who was staring at her intently from a few yards away. It was clear he had heard everything.

Farrah’s mind went blank for a moment. Thankfully, Adrian did not say anything and simply averted his gaze and walked away. As Farrah watched him leave, she snapped back to reality. She pursed and let out a frustrated sigh. She was absolutely furious.

Soon, the live band switched to a rendition of a famous foreign song, captivating the guests. As the banquet continued, Germaine caught a server’s eye from across the room. The server nodded and started walking toward Farrah, who stood near the pool, lost in thought.

Farrah wondered if Ryan might cause trouble for Riley when he got home. She resolved to make him lose his job if he dared to do that. As she was distracted, she did not pay much attention to the approaching server, assuming she was just doing her job.

Farrah began walking toward the mansion’s main hall. Germaine watched intently as the two drew closer a cold glint in her eye. Farrah happened to glance up, catching Germaine’s icy stare. Suddenly alert, she began to take in her surroundings.

At that moment, Adrian’s hawk–like gaze turned toward the scene. As the expressionless server neared her, Farrah sensed danger. Just as the server reached out, Farrah quickly ducked and sidestepped.

As a result, the server pushed at empty air. Her force was too strong, and the momentum caused her to lose balance. She screamed as she fell heavily into the pool, the tray clattering as water splashed everywhere, even drenching Farrah.

Germaine was stunned and hissed under her breath, “Idiot!”

Before Adrian could react, Mark rushed over and steadied Farrah. “Fay, are you alright?” he asked, concern etched on his face.

“I’m fine,” Farrah assured him as he pulled her to safety

The commotion drew everyone’s attention. The server failed in the water, gasping and struggling. Yet, no one immediately jumped in to save her.

Adrian’s expression darkened as he glared at Germaine, who avoided his gaze, fearing an investigation “Someone get her out, quick!” Germaine snapped at the security team, finally spurring them into action.
