Chapter 14-2

AMELIA:

When I woke up, I wasn’t alone in the room. Dexter was standing by the window, staring at who knows what.

I had passed out from the shock of Dexter almost killing Liam yesterday and when I recalled this, I gasped aloud,

"You’re awake." He uttered,

"Please tell me you didn’t do it. Tell me you didn’t kill him, Dexter, please." I uttered as I sat upright on the bed while he turned around to face me with his hands tucked into his pocket he wasn’t saying anything,

"If you’re not going to talk, I’ll go check myself," I uttered, getting extremely pissed off at his silence,

"What if I did?"

His response made me halt and I widened my eyes,

"What?" I yelled,

"The last thing I want is for you to mess around with any damn person who might know about your past else it would cost me every damn thing I’m working for." He half yelled at me and I could see rage in his eyes,

"You’re a monster! How the hell could you kill someone because of my past? I can’t do this anymore, I’m not going to do this with a monster!."

I rose to my feet as tears rolled down my eyes uncontrollably and I couldn’t help but blame myself repeatedly,

As I turned to leave, he grabbed my arm and handed me a letter,

"See for yourself and after this, you can make your decision because I didn’t kill him."

While I stared at what I was holding, Dexter turned and began to walk away and once he was out of my room, I fell back on the bed.

I had no idea what I was holding but as I sat on the bed and opened the letter, the tears that had settled at the base of my eyes freed themselves,

It was an invitation to Liam and Eva’s wedding and they both couldn’t be more shameless than this.

What the hell was I expecting in the first place? That Liam had finally realized his mistakes and he was willing to come back to me? I should have known better the type of man he was,

I squeezed the paper so hard that tears rolled down and threw it as far away from me as possible, but as I tried to lay down on my bed, I heard a knock on the door and I immediately rubbed the tears on my face clean.

I sniffled and rose to my feet, heading towards the door and when I opened it, a maid was standing outside,

"Good morning, Luna; the Luna Queen would like to see you."

Finally! At least I could talk to someone. "I’ll be done in a few minutes, thank you," I responded and shut the door immediately as she walked away.

A few minutes afterward, I was done dressing and since my wardrobe had been stocked up even without my notice, I quickly found anything good I could grab and began heading out of my room,

As I got close to the stairs, I met Scarlett, but as I tried to walk past her, she grabbed my arm, painfully making me wince as I shot her a questioning look,
