Chapter 6-1

-Amelia RosS-

"Sit." His deep baritone voice commanded me and I took my seat almost immediately,

I was handed a file by his Beta, but I didn’t open it,

"Open it. I assume you can read, can’t you?" He arched his brows as he questioned me, but I only nodded my head and brought my gaze down to the paper,

At the top of it, there were bold block letters which stated, "Contract Marriage." And that was exactly what had me confused. I raised my brows at him.

"Contract Marriage?" I questioned,

"You do know what a contract marriage is, and this going to last for a year. As soon as I get what I want, you’ll be free to go and the contract will no longer bind us together. You can read through and sign the papers immediately before the end of today and we’ll get married when we get to my pack."

"I don’t want to marry you!" My voice came out in a rush even though I had not expected myself to say those words to him. It was almost like an action that I couldn’t control, but then he scoffed out loud at me , "Neither do I want to marry you, but there’s way too much on the line if I don’t so I’m not taking no for an answer, lady." He fired back at me, and my fingers tightened so hard on the paper, nearly drawing a hole in it.

"If you don’t want to marry me then why don’t you reject me now so I could just walk away and maybe you could replace yourself another mate too."

He scoffed again and then cocked his head towards his beta,

"Kill her father."

"What?" I yelled and rose to my feet but before I could even utter another word, he rushed towards me and grabbed my hand.

"Don’t fucking test my patience little wolf. You ha no idea what I’m capable of doing to you."

With the close proximity between us, I could feel my heart pounding so hard and sweat slowly building up around my forehead, but then I ignored this feeling and questioned,

"Why?"

"Like I said, there is way too much on the line if I don’t bring you back home so be a good little wolf and comply."

I swallowed a deep breath and he let go of my arm seeing I was a bit calm,

"You don’t get to be the only one to sort out your problems with me. I’ve learnt way too many lessons in this world and I think I also deserve something from all of this too." I demanded.

Since I was young, I had always been the weak one, sacrificing every damn thing for my family and still being the one to be pushed aside by them, but maybe this was my one ticket to the life I wanted, and most importantly I could replace my birth mother and ask her why I had to be abandoned.

"What do you want, little wolf?" He questioned, and I let out a smile from the corner of my eyes staring the paper on the table first, then at him,

"A lot of fortune." I uttered, but he laughed only for a few seconds, and I could see that look of disappointment in his eyes as he stared at me,

"I knew it. You were no different from the rest of them, and it’s just as I expected."
