“Excuse me, dad,” said Antonio. “Mariyanna is in the living room waiting to see you.”

“Tell her I’ll be out in a minute,” Calisto replied, injecting himself with a serum.

“Yes, sir,” Antonio said. “Dad, may I speak freely?”

“Of course, son; what is it?”

“You have already injected yourself twice today; don’t you think you are overdosing?”

Calisto coughed nastily and said, “I have since had to up my dosage because the doctor said that my internal organs are failing, shutting down completely, and if I don’t claim Alonzo’s powers as soon as possible, I’ll be dead.”

“Alright, father, we are getting closer to that goal. Alonzo needs to unleash the power one more time, and he is yours.”

“The bastard, as if he knows what awaits him, has refused to transform.”

“He will give in,” Antonio said. He bowed and left.

Antonio thought his father would have died a long time ago, but he kept on surviving his sickness, proving how tough he was. He had many reasons for wanting his father dead, but the primary reason was to be free from his father’s bondage.

The man never left him with a choice. He didn’t care what anyone else wanted. When doing things, they were often done his way or left undone, which would attract severe punishment.

Earlier, Bianco had approached Antonio secretly after the king summoned the werewolves. Bianco had wanted to know what Antonio and his father were up to, but he couldn’t say.

Mariyanna was seated beside agent Fox, and they both rose as soon as Calisto walked into the living room. The man looked faultless. His appearance didn’t strike Mariyanna like someone who should be feared, yet there he was, the king of the house.

“Please sit down,” Calisto said with a kind smile. “I know what you’re both thinking about, and you mustn’t underestimate me for any reason. I may not look intimidating, but given my role in all that’s happened, you deserve to be scared.”

“At first, I thought you were kind enough to help us, invite us into your home but now you speak as if you want us to be scared,” Mariyanna said, bewildered.

“If I don’t make your b***d run cold, nothing else will,” Calisto said. “That said, I offer no apology for my earlier statement. Your agent got in our way-“

“You got in ours! I was trying to get rid of someone, but your interference with that cost us.” Calisto refrained from killing Mariyanna for interrupting him. So instead, he smiled.

“I apologize for that with good reasons,” replied Calisto. “I have been seeking my revenge. I have come close to making Alonzo crumble, and I did not wish for any external force to interfere, not nature and certainly not an outsider like yourself. I’ll destroy everything he has worked so hard for by myself before I take all of his loved ones from him.”

“Why?”

“Needless to say, though, I brought you here for a reason.”

“Don’t ever sidestep my question,” Mariyanna said, disgusted.

“It would pay more for you to listen to me,” Calisto said. “As I was saying, I invited you here for two reasons. Your agent appears valuable, and for that, I will offer you a deal if you wish to see him continue breathing.”

“What was that?” Mariyanna asked in disbelief. Earlier, she had thought she was coming to make an ally of this man.

“You can call it a threat,” Calisto said. “One of two threats, and the other is this.”

Calisto Immediately started to transform into partial wolf form; both Mariyanna and Agent Fox almost fainted as they watched Calisto’s fingers change. Sharp, deadly claws grew out of his fingertip.

You can hear every crack of his bone in his body as he g****s according to his scary body movement with a problematic vein that exceeds his arms. Slowly but quickly, His teeth instantly grow into the ones of an essential dog. Then, a hug tail follows as he entirely was on four feet to the ground with his body covered with fur.

The frail-looking Calisto had transformed into something so powerful, looking different thoroughly.

“A…a do…” Mariyanna muttered in uttermost fear, with her voice trembling.

“I…I wasn’t dreaming… It’s all real…its…its a werewolf…” Fox muttered in fright and excitement at his thought, seeing the same thing he had seen before but wasn’t believed.

“What the hell are you?” Mariyanna asked, voice trembling. She knew the answer already. and it made her b***d run cold.

“I’m a werewolf, and I’m about to make the agent into one of us,” said Calisto.

“He…He can…He can speak…speak like that?” Mariyanna almost gave up those because who would believe her if she said she saw a human that transformed into an animal? No one. “Why… Why would he ever…ever accept that?” Mariyanna fidgeted, her eyes beaming with fear, but her body remained still.

“There’s no way I’m letting you turn me into a monster!” Agent Fox said with the remaining courage he had gathered.

“I was hoping you would say that,” Calisto said softly. “If you resist, she will die, and you will die too. Fighting is useless, as you are aware. you can see that we ain’t the same kind,”

Agent Fox gulped hard. He looked at Mariyanna, who looked taken aback. He had tried to warn her of the danger, but she insisted on meeting with Jamie’s employer. Now, they both knew that Jamie wasn’t just any regular employee.

“Please, you can’t do this,” Mariyanna insisted. “What are the dangers if you do this?”

“There’s only a fifty percent chance he will survive the bite and transformation process, but if he does, then he will be thoroughly invaluable. Come now, my friend; I know you’re curious deep down. Stop acting like you aren’t.”

Calisto’s smile broadened as Agent Fox rose. Agent Fox felt Mariyanna’s hand grab his wrist, and he wriggled to free his hands.

“It’s fine; I’ll do it!” Agent Fox said, “He’s right; we don’t stand a chance against him.”

“That’s how a real man should behave,” Calisto said. He was menacingly waiting to sink his teeth into Agent Fox’s flesh.

“I have a question,” said Mariyanna halting the moment.

Calisto sneered at her, “What is your question?”

“You don’t intend to kill Alonzo or turn him into what you are, right?”

“No, my vengeance stops at causing him emotional damages.”

“We deserve to know why,” Mariyanna said.

“That is classified! And until I have leverage, you don’t have clearance for the information you are seeking.”

“So if-“

Before Mariyanna could ask further questions, Calisto buried his teeth into Agent Fox’s neck, and she squirmed in fear as b***d sprouted from the man’s neck. Immediately, Agent Fox fell onto the floor, body vibrating uncontrollably that Mariyanna thought he wouldn’t survive it. Needless to say, though, she was terrified, petrified.

“Is that supposed to be happening to him?”

“It’s been a long time since I gave anyone the bite; let’s hope he survives; in the meantime, would you like anything to drink?”

Mariyanna shook her head, and Calisto laughed. She rushed to where Agent Fox was on the floor to check him out. Calisto took off his glasses and wiped them clean before fixing them again. He watched Mariyanna intently before turning to leave.

“If it helps you relax,” Calisto said. “He will remain unconscious for ten minutes, but if he stays longer than that, you should probably check if he is still breathing.”

“You are a monster,” Mariyanna cussed.

“No doubts, no doubts, and I told you earlier that I’ll make your b***d run cold.”

Antonio stepped into the living room as soon as his father left. He watched Mariyanna hold on to the man on the floor with pity, like she was responsible for everything.

“My father, he has his moments,” Antonio said. “If I had known this was his intention, I would have probably warned you to flee.”

“I don’t understand how any of this is possible,” Mariyanna was in a trance, so she didn’t hear one word from Antonio. “Monsters walking amongst us.”

“We are not monsters,” Antonio said, “We were born like this, but like humans, we have good and evil werewolves. You are probably too stunned even to hear me. I am nothing like my father, but I’m sorry, I can’t help you. You want your sister dead, don’t you? And yet you are calling us monsters. It’s not okay to judge appearances only; we should consider the hearts and intentions of people too.”

About ten minutes later, Agent Fox began to stir up as he opened his eyes first. His head felt heavy, and he noticed that his trousers were wet too. He felt embarrassed to have peed on himself when Calisto gave him the bite.

“Mariyanna,” he said, and she lifted her head, jumping to her feet.

“You made it, ” she said, sounding truly glad. “How do you feel?”

“Normal, I don’t think it worked!” Agent Fox said.

Antonio laughed shortly and said, “Oh, it did alright; it worked out just fine; you can check out the bitten spot; it should’ve been completely healed. Isn’t it?”

Mariyanna and agent Fox checked it out, and owing to Antonio’s words, Fox was wholly healed with no trace of the bite.

“It worked, so you mean I’m now a werewolf?”

“Yeah, and an omega!” Antonio said. “I should go get my father.”

“There would be no need to come to get me, son; I’m here!” Calisto said. “I see our newest pack member is awake. You will live longer if you quickly adapt to the pack’s mentality. Mariyanna, I’m sure you’ve earned my confidence, and now you can speak freely. Ask me whatever you want to.”

“What the hell does your kind want with Alonzo? If it’s revenge you seek, you’re capable of killing him, so why are you holding back?”

“Alonzo is not merely a human being; he and I are alike but different. As far as reasons go, I want Alonzo to suffer because of what his father did. The sins of the father are visited upon the children. Isn’t that right, my child?”

“Yes, father,” said Antonio.

“Then how can you live like this? Your son will surely pay for your sins,” said Mariyanna in a bid to prick Calisto’s conscience.

“Perhaps he will, but he will be prepared because I have lived long enough to pass life lessons to him.”

“And you think Alonzo doesn’t have his fair share of lessons?”

“Not like my son. Mazza is an incompetent fool.”
