“Boarding completed, I’d like to welcome everyone aboard. Our scheduled flying time will be six hours and fifteen minutes.

And we will be cruising at an altitude of thirty-seven-thousand feet. At this time we would like to acquaint you with some of our best features. Please, all passengers on board, use your belts.”

Alonso could hear a pilot addressing his passengers in one of the planes about ready to take off. His grandfather, Piccolo, Bianco, and Alonzo’s godson, Leonardo, followed him behind. He was a few paces away from where his flight crew was waiting. They wore white and black uniforms. A lone black jet stood magnificently beside them.

“Welcome aboard, Don Alonzo, Don Mazza,” a lady who appeared to be in her forties said, smiling.

“Thank you, Mrs.” Alonzo looked at her name tag. “Greta.”

The fight had been unbelievably long, filled with an awkward silence between Mazza and Alonzo. Leonardo and Piccolo had gotten along pretty well during the journey. Bianco had fallen asleep after they had done an hour in the sky.

It was almost six p.m. when the jet landed. Alonzo came out last. Vincenzo welcomed him, and Alonzo remembered what had transpired last night. Vincenzo had called, sounding terrified. He had said that agent Fox had attacked Jerald, killed him, and stolen his powers.

Agent Fox becoming a werewolf was something mysterious to Alonzo. He wondered who had turned him into one and trained him. How did he know that Jerald was a werewolf? How did he know about wolfsbane? It had to take someone who knew him, not just on the surface level, to be able to come after members of his pack like that.

At first, Piccolo had been so sure it had been Callisto that had turned Agent Fox into a werewolf. However, some moments before they boarded their flight from Italy, Alonzo had gotten a call from Callisto that slightly changed the narrative and the perspective.

Callisto had called him to boast that he had the head of the man who had tried to murder Alonzo’s girlfriend. He had also surprised Alonzo by revealing that he knew Agent Fox had killed one of his pack members.

Alonzo had asked how Callisto knew about Jerald’s death, and Callisto’s version of the story was pretty straightforward. Russia was crawling with the highest number of packs gathered in one city. For that reason, Callisto claimed he and his pack members had been on guard.

Callisto had also claimed that he had been looking after Alonzo’s pack mates since Alonzo wasn’t around to do so. He had called it an alpha instinct. He reminded Alonzo that he had come to Russia to look for a man, which had been why Jamie had been spying on his casino before he saved Alyona that fateful night. Callisto had further revealed that the man he had tracked down to Russia had been the one who recruited Agent Fox and turned him.

Finally, Callisto had said that after Agent Fox killed Jerald, his man Laslow had swooped in and taken down the two werewolves that had committed the atrocity. He had also apologized on Laslow’s behalf for not acting a little more quickly, which would have saved Jerald’s life.

Piccolo hadn’t bought the story because there was no proof that what Callisto said wasn’t a lie. Alonzo had reminded him that Callisto claimed to have the head of agent Fox, but Piccolo didn’t let up. He insisted and was convinced that Callisto was capable of committing elaborate performances to convince him that he was on Alonzo’s side so that he could let his guard down.

The number of dead bodies dropping in Russia was significantly higher than in Italy. It seemed every time Alonzo thought of Russia; it always involved the death of somebody. First, it had started with our avid gambler Gleb Sokolov who took his life; then Alyona’s precious father, Don Ivan Makarov; Alonzo’s first Consigliere, Vladimir Emilio; and the list goes on and on.

Alonzo and his grandfather lodged into two separate cars. The one with Alonzo had Bianco in the front seat while Alonzo sat with Vincenzo in the back seat. They were heading straight for the Makarov mansion. Alonzo’s body was trembling, and his jaw made ticking movements from time to time. He was going after Alyona, and he was going to kill her for all the wrong things she had done to him.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Vincenzo blurted out.

Alonzo let out a short nervous laugh and said, “What do you mean?”

“You are going after the woman you love to murder her,” Vincenzo continued boldly. “You are not a murderer, Don. Sure, you call the hits most times, but you’ve never killed with your hands.”

True! Alonzo had never had b***d in his hands, not directly at least. The fact was that he wanted to be the one to kill Alyona. Out of everyone that had offended him, she had hurt him the most.

“Don’t underestimate me, Vincenzo,” Alonzo’s tone was chilling.

Bianco turned back and said, “Vincenzo, perhaps you should watch your mouth. Don Alonzo is in a foul mood.”

Vincenzo agreed without saying another word. Sitting so close to Alonzo in his angry mood had made him tense.

They parked a few distances from the Makarov building. There was no doubt that the inside would be heavily fortified with guards. He didn’t want to kill anyone else apart from Alyona.

“Alright, both of you listen,” Alonzo began. “You’ll both take care of the guards and disarm them by any means necessary, including causing them injury, but I don’t want you to kill anyone.”

“Yes, sir,” Bianco and Vincenzo said simultaneously.

They all put on their masks and made a run for the front gate. Bianco immediately took out the guards, knocking them down with his werewolf strength and speed before they could even reach their sidearms. Vincenzo covered Alonzo, who, by following Alyona’s scent, knew precisely where he should take. He had cut corners with Vincenzo when Vincenzo had stopped to defend him from a few more guards.

Alonzo stood in front of the door that appeared to be Alyona’s bedroom. He kicked down the door, and Alyona screamed. She was going to reach for her pillow, but Alonzo quickly stopped her by misdirecting a bullet that shattered a wall not far from where Alyona stood.

“Take another step, and I promise the next one goes into your head,” Alonzo warned. “Sit down, Alyona.”

The voice had been unmistakable. Alyona was terrified, happy, and sad at the same time. She sat down and raised her hands in surrender. Alonzo took off his mask, and she confirmed what she already knew.

“Alonzo, I can explain!” Alyona said. “Everything I did was a mistake.”

Alonzo was outraged. Did she call the attempted ploy to have him murdered a mistake, or killing his horse, or burning down his company? He wanted to know exactly which of them was a mistake.

“A mistake? You almost killed me; hell, you did! Me standing right before you is a miracle, don’t you think?”

“I don’t know how you survived, but I’m glad you did,” Alyona said.

“Shut the hell up,” Alonzo cried out.

“I’m so sorry,” Alyona said. “Mariyanna tricked me. She claimed you had s*x with her, and I felt betrayed. I felt like you were using me, and so I snapped. I have demons, yeah, but my sister awakened them. I have proof; she sent evidence that the both of you were sleeping with each other.”

“What the f**k?” Alonzo sounded surprised.

Alyona fidgeted with her phone. Her fingers yet, while trembling, were able to work their way to the email that Mariyanna had sent her. Alonzo snatched the phone from her.

“Sit down,” he commanded. The gun was still pointed at Alyona while he went through her phone. The pictures didn’t surprise him.

“Is this what she calls evidence of s*x? This is just me on an entirely normal dinner date,” Alonzo thought.

He couldn’t believe Alyona would snap because he went out with her sister. Bullshit! He got angrier, but just as he was about to lash out at her, he saw the following file, which was a video. When he played it, he was disoriented for a while.

“What? That’s not me,” he said audibly and visibly irritated.

“Yes, I found out yesterday,” Alyona said. “I found out after accidentally replaceing Mariyanna’s diary. She has been in love with you and wanted to destroy us, destroy me.”

What the hell did it matter? Even if the motive for her wanting to kill him was not because she wanted to avenge her father, it didn’t change what she had done.

“This ends now,” Alonzo said. He squeezed the gun tighter, but he couldn’t shoot.

“I’m pregnant for you, Alonzo,” Alyona said.

He doubted it, but when he listened closely, he could hear it. His heart froze, and he motioned toward her. He felt a wave of different feelings. She was going to have his child. He thanked the moon goddess for not letting his anger get the best of him.

Bianco and Vincenzo walked in unannounced, and they froze when they saw Alonzo and Alyona hugging. They looked at each other in confusion.

Alonzo turned to them and said, “Don’t give me that look.”

They could hear more of the Makarovs’ guards coming up to Alyona’s room, and Alyona came out to ask them to stand down.
