DAISY

I walk out of the room with Brooke following behind me.

I feel so ashamed of myself for the way I acted but when I saw her turn Madison to ash, we could feel the heat of her power from the side. It scared everyone, it scared me. I didn’t know how to react like everyone else. I should have asked her, she’s my friend well I hope we can still be after this.

I open the door to a room nearer the staircase and head inside; it is a little office area for Beta Logan.

I turn around and watch as my friend walks into the room, she was looking at the floor “She’s nervous” says my wolf who was looking through my eyes.

Brooke didn’t look up from the floor “Please Brooke can you look at me?” I ask her.

Brooke slowly moves as her eyes meet mine, she has tears in them. “Why would you be scared of me?” She mouths “I never gave you any reason to.”

She’s right she never gave me a reason to be scared of her, Brooke was always talking when she was a child but after everything that happened she went through so much and when we came to save her, she trusted me even enough to travel with me. I still looked at the photos of that trip.

“I’m sorry Brooke,” I say quietly.

“I only caught the end part of what happened,” I said.

She frowns at me but sighs “I didn’t even know I could do that, it was my first time” she mouths. She closes her eyes and I know instantly who is coming forward.

Willow.

Brooke opens her eyes, Willow and her are as one, different coloured eyes looking back at me “You hurt Brooke the most” says Willow but she c***s her head to the side “I know you are sorry and Brooke can feel it that’s why we came with you to talk but we wanted to make it clear that there was a whole reason why we never mentioned what we were to anyone.”

I nod “I can see that, I can’t believe how stupid we were,” I say and walk towards Brooke and Willow, placing my hand in hers “I promise to be a better friend and I will never get scared of you again.”

Brooke’s look at me “I know we can tell you are telling the truth but I think Brooke pushed me forward as she needs advice about something” says Willow suddenly which takes me by surprise.

“What about?” I ask her giving her a questioning look.

Willow stares at me but sighs “Brooke wants you to look after Hudson when she leaves” she says.

I stare back at her confused “What do you mean to look after Hudson? Where are you going?” I ask which came out more like a demand.

Willow c***s her head “Brooke has been thinking of leaving the pack especially after the meeting with alpha Josh and Todd, she thinks if Alfred tells anyone about her, they will keep coming to the pack” she says and looks at me “She doesn’t want to be the cause of anyone’s pain and suffering all because of what we are.”

I stare back at her. I can get why she wants to leave, we didn’t exactly give her a warm reception and also the people who are after are lethal especially after all the abuse she went through due to them.

Brooke and Willow look at me “I will but I have to say, you should mate with…..” I say but Brooke shakes her head “No, We need to leave we want to protect the people we care about” she says as a tear slips down her face.

I can’t help but stare at my friend. This must be the hardest thing to ever go through; knowing people would want to kill you for what you are.

I don’t say anything and wrap my arms around her pulling her into me, I hug her. I can feel the tears landing on my top and I guess she can feel mine.

I have to tell Hudson, he needs to know about this.

I move back and stare at my friend “I know you want to, but I really don’t want you to go” I tell her “I will miss you.”

Brooke gave me a weak smile but we suddenly heard a loud growl coming from outside before we could say anything else. We both move to the door and open it to replace a crying Amy being held by Shane with Hudson and Todd by the side.

I listen in, but suddenly I gasp. Alfred killed Amy’s uncle to get the records to Fae creatures. That’s not good, how would he have known where to look……but I carry on listening in but I can’t help the growl that slips through which makes Brooke jump. She stares back at me with a worried expression on her face. “What’s wrong?” She mouths.

I tell her everything, even the last part of Alfred torturing Amy’s uncle for information.

Brooke stares at me, but I can feel Willow. “I need to see my mother”, mouths Brooke.

I look at her confused but she smiles “It’s ok; I’m not going anywhere I need to tell my mother what we just found out. There is not just one Phoenix here, there are two and we both are in danger.”

I nod and wrap her in a hug, we smile and I watch my friend leave to head to her mother’s room, heading away from Hudson.

ALFRED

I hate dried b***d.

That b***h was useful after all, I can’t help but smirk.

I knew Kelsey back in the day and I knew I could get her to work for me as she wanted to be with Hudson, really badly. I freed her from that other pack and send her on her way to get the girl but I never thought the alphas would go and collect her. The word was she was sleeping around with other men, not her mate.

I look at the dead body before me and step over it.

I looked at the young wolf who was crying by the side of the old man. I kneel down and place my hand under his chin “Now he should have told me everything instead of holding out on me” I said letting go of him but the boy sobs even more.

One of my followers was unloading all the documents and old books about Fae creatures. I returned to him as I asked Kelsey to replace out what Alpha Josh and Todd knew and she played them really well till the end. As we came here, we learned that her mate killed her after what she did.

I was running out of time and needed to get back to the camp. We need to attack the pack; we needed to get that b***h.

Suddenly one of the followers drops a piece of paper on the floor. It looked like a drawing. I bent down and picked it up.

I open it up and I smile. That’s it.

That’s what she is.

I need to get back; we need to get her now!!
