Chapter 51

Skylar's POV

As soon as I heard that my baby girl was going to be home soon I gotso excited and very nervous. We were all in the living room waiting forthem to arrive that I couldn't sit still and ended up pacing around theroom. It wasn't until I heard the rumbling of an engine before it cut offthat I stopped in my tracks and stood frozen to my spot as I stared atthe living room doorway as I heard 3 sets of footsteps approaching thefront door before I heard someone knock. Jasper answered the doorseeing as Jace and I were too nervous and frozen to each other toanswer it, so he greeted them. I saw Lucy first making my eyes water asI hugged her back knowing I've missed her and was so grateful for herbeing here to look after my daughter. As soon as Lucy moved Jace andI dropped to our knees crying as we laid eyes on our little girl whowasn't so little anymore making me feel extremely guilty for everythingthat has happened to her.

After telling her who we were and saying how much we loved andmissed her she started crying as she ran at us and threw herself into ourarms. We held her closely and stayed like that for what seemed like onlya few minutes but was actually like an hour long. Lilith pulled awayfrom us sniffling before she said she was hungry making everyonegiggle at how precious and adorable she was. Jasper came up to us andleaned down and told her to come with him and he would make hersomething to eat while Jace and I talked with Lucy.

Once Jasper and Lilith were in the kitchen laughing and talking aboutwhat she would like to eat I heard Lucy clear her throat as she stoodthere nervously. Looking at her questioningly I heard Jace clear histhroat before he spoke cutting through the slightly awkward silence inthe room.

"Lucy I am so glad you are safe, I also wanted to thank you for helpingto protect Lilith for us since we could not at the time. I would also liketo know who this gentleman is standing behind you?" Jace asked hergently

"Oh umm...this is Tate he's the Mystic Pack’s Beta and he also happensto be my mate. I am glad to be safe as well and I would do anything forLilith, she is such a sweetheart and I loved being around her all thetime. I'm going to miss seeing her all the time and seeing all of youguys as well since I won't be here anymore. Since my mate is a beta I'mgoing to be moving to the Mystic Pack to be with him because Icouldn't ask him to give up anything for me plus I could use a freshstart. I love you guys but there are too many memories and it's hardbeing here without everyone. We already have the paperwork for mytransfer I just need you guys to sign off and fill out everything you needto and I will finish the rest. Tate and I will be here for a few days to packmy things up and load up our vehicle before we head back and AlphaDerek already knows and told us to take our time doing so." Lucy saidall at once

We stood there in silence letting everything she just said to us sink inbefore we looked at each other. nodding to each other we looked overat Lucy and smiled before bringing her into a group hug.

"Lucy we are so very proud and happy for you and we understandeverything. Neither of us would've asked you to choose or let you stayhere we would have told you to go and be with your mate anywayssince that is our way. We are so very happy for you finally replaceing yourmate, we know how long you've been waiting for this day to come" Itold her smiling while I held her hands in mine.

"Thank you Luna Sky I appreciate it very much and I am so glad youboth are alright and that you both were able to make it home safely.”She says with tears in her eyes

"Now give Jace the paperwork and we will all head to the kitchen to filleverything out together as we all spend time with Lilith and Jasper. Alsowe will be holding a little ceremony for Alex and Amber before youleave so that you can say your goodbyes as well. After that we will beholding a dinner celebrating them as well as saying goodbye to youand wishing you and your mate a very happy life together.” I say to heras tears are now streaming down both of our faces.

Lucy handed Jace the paperwork and we all filled it in and signed ittogether as we all had a bite to eat. Once everyone was full and thepaperwork was done we all went out side and enjoyed our timewatching Lilith run around playing and laughing and having fun. It wasnice for all of us to do this again even after everything that hadhappened during these last few months. The next few days sped by sofast and it was finally time for us to hold the little ceremony for Alexand Amber so we could all say our goodbyes. We all preparedstatements and read them out loud and then we all placed flowers ontheir grave before we headed inside. We all ate dinner togethercelebrating the lives of Alex and Amber since they were taken from usto soon, we told stories and laughed and kept their spirits alive in ourhearts before we toasted Lucy and Tate on finally replaceing each other aseveryone else got drunk celebrating everyone and having some fun foronce. I sat there and watched everything go on as I held Lilith in myarms as she was starting to doze off. I went upstairs and walked intoher room and saw that nothing in it had really changed at all. I placedher in her bed and sat there staring at her for a little while before Ireluctantly made it downstairs and interacted with everyone else while Ichecked in on her every now and then before everyone went to bed forthe night.
