Chapter 50

Lucy's POV

I was just lounging around outside in the nice warm sunlight as Iwatched Lilith run around the yard. It was peaceful and nice knowingthat I will be doing this with my own pups one day now that I havefinally met my mate and who knew that he was only a 2 days run formmy own pack who would've known if only I had gone on an adventurefor a few days before maybe I would have found him sooner. Tate hasbeen nothing but helpful with Lily and just watching him with hershows me just ow much of a great father he is going to be one day.

As I was watching Lilith try to catch butterflies I felt a hand touch myshoulder as the tingles started to radiate from the spot I knew exactlywho it was. I looked up at my mate who was squatting behind myshoulder while he looked down to admire me.

"Hello there gorgeous having fun in the sun I see” Tate smiles at mebefore he sits and brings me close to his chest before he tilts my chinup to kiss me.

"Hi handsome how was your meeting with Derek about me joining yourpack?" I ask curiously

"It went well baby, Derek will be drawing up all the paper work for youto fill out and have your former Alpha sign off on it when they are backfrom their mission. The paper work should be done in about an hourand then we can start filling it out and then when you replace out yourAlpha's back we will go and see him to bring him his precious little girlback and to talk to him about your transfer.” Tate says to me while he'swatching Lily looking up at the birds flying around through the trees.As we were sitting there watching Lilith running around laughingplaying and just having fun I get a sudden mind link from Jasper andmy heart stops thinking it's something bad. I was not prepared at all forwhat he was about to tell me in that moment.

“Lucy? Lucy it's Jasper can you hear me?’ I hear him ask hesitantlyJasper I hear you loud and clear what's up any news about our Alphaand Luna?" I ask him curiously as I prepare myself for the worst.

"Yeah I have and they are back home together. Skylar seems a littlerough but that's to be expected given what she had went through. Theyasked about where Lilith was and I told them you had her over at theMystic Pack and that I would link you to tell you it's finally safe to bringher home." Jasper said

“Alright I'm going to let my mate know and we will be on the road assoon as possible and I will link you when we are close to the packhouse.’ I tell him

“Alright I'll see you in about a day or so and I will let them know youboth are on your way as well." He responds

I turn to Tate who was intently staring at me the entire time I wastalking with Jasper. I smile at him before I call Lilith over to us so I cantell them both at the same time knowing Lilith was going to be veryexcited to be going home to see her parents again. Once she wassettled on my lap I just sat there hugging and staring at her while herand Tate stared intently at me before I told them what was going on."Well I finally heard from Jasper and he had some news and in fact it'sgood news" I smile at them

"Lilith hunny your mommy and daddy are finally home and they wantto see you so we are going to be going to pack up and go back hometo them how do you feel about that?" I ask her

"YAYY MOMMY AND DADDY ARE BACK!!! I can't wait to see demfinawy" she squeals as she gets up and jumps around making me smileand laugh at how happy she is.

"So Tate baby how do you feel about a little road trip to my soon-to-beformer pack?" I ask cautiously not knowing how he's going to feelabout doing this so soon.

"I can't wait in fact Alpha Derek just linked me telling me that the paperwork is drawn up and printed out and waiting for us to go and pick itup. I also just linked him telling him that I am going with you to bringLilith home to her parents and that we are going to be there for a fewdays to pack up your things and talk to your Alpha about your transferand get the paperwork done and he said for us to take as much time aswe need." He tells me before we stand as he places a kiss on my lipsbefore we grab Lily and bring her inside to get us all packed up andgrab the paperwork we need for me to be transferred from the NightShade Pack to the Mystic Pack. Once we have everything we head tothe garage and set out to my pack.

Jace's POV

Once I knew that my beta had something to do with the attack on mypack to get to my daughter I was enraged so I took off and went for arun. I was running around the pack to just blow off steam and afterrunning for a couple hours I decided to head back to the house and tomy mate. When I shifted back and got dressed I walked into the houseand found my mate and Jasper standing in the kitchen staring out thewindow looking at Amber and Alex's graves. I decided to head over tothem and hug them both showing my support during these hard timeseven though I felt awful that I wasn't here to help when the attack tookplace.

We ordered in for dinner and then we all went our separate ways,Jasper went and ran patrol around the borders looking for any signs tosee if Lucas has been around. I don't blame him I know he's going tokill him if he ever see's him again and I will not stop him not caring forthe life of my ex-beta, since he is a traitor to the pack and deserveseverything Jasper will do to him if he ever catches him. Skylar and Idecided to go to bed together and try to sleep but neither of us couldsettle down thinking about how tomorrow we might have our baby girlin our arms once again.

We spent the day in the training grounds as I sparred with Skylar tryingto help her regain her strength. It had been hours since we started and Icould see the exhaustion in Skylar's movements knowing very well shewas pushing herself too far and was going to collapse if she kept going."Baby it's time to stop before you collapse on the floor and I have tobring you to the pack hospital” I tell her expecting her to resist knowingjust how stubborn she could be

"Your right I am pushing myself too much but I don't know what else todo. I feel useless and weak and powerless and I just need to get myselffeeling my old self, the strong Luna I was all those months ago and notthis useless weak pathetic Luna I am now." She said as she fell to herhands and knees crying.

I rush to her and pull her into my arms and just rub her back as shecried on my shoulder. I knew she needed this and just needed to leteverything out and not keep it all bottled up inside. We stayed like thisfor 2 hours before Jasper came in to let us know that Lucy and Lilithwere only an hour and a half away. As soon as Skylar heard that hercrying slowed and we got up and headed back to the house to showerand get ready to meet Lucy and to finally have our baby girl back. Iknow that the fact that Lilith was now cursed to have a much shorterlife span then she should because of who her mother is is hauntingSkylar even though she would never admit it I can feel her guilt andpain through our mate bond.

I watched as Skylar paced in the living room for the next hour and ahalf waiting for Lucy to show up with our little girl. I was also starting toget impatient seeing that they still haven't arrived yet and then nextthing I know I heard a vehicle pull up outside. I knew Skylar heard it toas I watched as she stopped pacing and stood stock still waiting forthem to come into the house. I went over to Skylar and wrapped myarm around her shoulders and held her to me as we listened to 3 pairsof footsteps getting closer and closer until they stopped outside thedoor. They knocked and Jasper answered the door seeing as me andSky couldn't move we were frozen to the spot as we heard Lucy's voiceand the giggles of a little girl. They walked into the living room and wesay Lucy first as she ran to us and hugged us both as she started cryingand then she moved and we seen our little girl Lilith except she wasn'tso little anymore she was so big now and doing so much I couldn'tbelieve that this was my little girl.

Skylar and I sunk to our knees as tears ran down our faces as we staredat our little girl in shock. I also noticed that there was some man in myhouse but I didn't care at that moment, all I cared about was mydaughter.

"Lilith hunny I am so glad to see you baby girl, you have gotten so bigsince the last time I saw you" I said to her making her blush

"Lilith it's mommy, oh how I have missed you. You have grown so bigover these past few months, I remember when you were just bornwhich was the last time I saw you. You baby girl was what kept mommygoing when she was away but I'm back for good and I promise I willnever ever leave you again” Skylar said through her sobs as Lilithstarted crying and ran to us and threw herself into our open arms. Wesat there hugging our little girl and crying for what seemed like foreverbefore Lilith pulled away from us and said she was hungry. We noddedour heads and asked Jasper to bring her into the kitchen to getsomething to eat wince I wanted to ask Lucy something.

"Lucy I am so glad you are safe, I also wanted to thank you for helpingto protect Lilith for us. I would also like to know who this gentleman isstanding behind you." I asked her making her blush profusely.

"Oh umm...this is Tate he's the Mystic Pack’s Beta and he also happensto be my mate. I am glad to be safe as well and I would do anything forLilith she is such a sweet heart and I loved being around her all thetime. I'm going to miss seeing her all the time and seeing you guys aswell since I'm going to be moving to the Mystic Pack to be with mymate which is one of the reasons he's here with me so we could talk toyou about my transfer and have you help fill out the paperwork for itthat we have with us." Lucy told us shyly.
