After we had our fun killing Lucas Gray we went back to the house andsnuck in through the back as we could hear Jasper and Lilith laughingat a movie they were watching. We made our way to our bedroom andthen into our bathroom and took a shower together so we could washoff all the blood that covered our bodies. I was listening inon everyone's heartbeats like I always do and I could tell by listeningwhich heartbeat belonged to who. Jasper's always seem to beat a littlefaster as he no doubt was having nightmares about the night his twinbrother was killed in front of him. Skylar's heartbeat was always a nicesteady slow beat while she slept and would only pick up when she waseither having a nightmare or a sex dream but judging by the slightwhimpers lately they've been nightmares.

Lilith's heartbeats were always so strong before and then aftereverything that happened they started to become unpredictable. Onenight they would be strong and even and other they would be slowerand more spread out and they were getting worse since the vampireattack as they were always slower then normal. Over the last while herheartbeats were getting slower and slower everyday and tonight theywere so slow and spread apart I knew that she wasn't going to bewaking up from her dreams tonight ever again

I sat on the bed watching my little girl as I slowly listened to herheartbeat slow and eventually stop. It broke my heart knowing that mylittle girl was gone forever but the little sliver of gratefulness I had wasthat she wasn't ever in any pain and that she was always surrounded byher family. I knew this was going to break Skylar so I decided to notwake her tonight but I let her be as she cuddled Lilith into her while sheslept. In the morning I was sitting in the recliner when I heard Jasperwake up first, I watched as he stretched and then he noticed me andstopped while he listened and that's when he realized that Lilith wasgone.

Jasper's heart broke into pieces as he headed outside for a run togrieve and so that he could give Skylar and I some alone time with Lilithbefore bringing her to the morgue and getting everything done andready for her funeral. I decided to crawl into the bed where Jasper wasand stared at my beautiful little girl who was now in that care of theMoon Goddess. I could see Skylar start to stir and eventually she wokeup. After she cleared the sleep out of her eyes she looked at me andnoticed the tears streaming down my face as I looked down at our babygirl. Realization dawned on her as she broke down completely as sheheld on tight to her dead little girl. I held them both in my arms asSkylar sobbed her heart out as she blamed herself for everything thathad happened even though she knew it wasn't her fault and no onewould ever blame her for it either.

I linked the doctor to come and bring her to the morgue while I madeall the funeral arrangements for her. We decided to have a smallceremony for her with only immediate pack members and family so wecontacted Lucy and Tate and told them and they came right away tohelp out. Skylar wanted to bury her under the cherry blossom tree inthe garden and I agreed so we had a spot dug up and a priest to comeand officiate it as we said our goodbyes and buried Lilith. After theceremony and burial we all went to the house for dinner and somesocializing as we found out that our beloved Lucy was pregnant withtwins and they couldn't wait to replace out what the gender's were so thatthey could start picking out names. A day of mourning and grief wasalso one of celebration of new and old life.
