The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 116 Book 2 Chapter 48

Zillon stepped out of the darkness of the dungeon and into the light of the outside, turning to stare at Liam and Fredd. “I’m leaving Celeste with mom and dad as soon as the sky gets dark, we’re going on patrol tonight because if it really wasn’t Xavier all along, then we’re in trouble. We need to delve pass our borders, we need to take this more seriously…we’re under attack and here I was thinking that it was just a petty little revenge. We have the same product they have…it might not be much, but it’s probably enough to cover our tracks for tonight.”

He sighed, the stern look on his face not changing. “I want you to the east Liam… Fredd to the west…I’ll take the south as for the north borders…I’ll get one of the best fighters here to cover it. The link between us will be open and there’ll be no men on patrol, just us. I want everybody at there best games…nobody else should die, especially not you guys.”

Fredd and Liam nodded at him. “Noted.”

“Meet me outside my parents house at six…I can’t disappoint the pack any longer, I’m going to have a meeting with everyone and then we’ll set off.”

Both men nodded again and then as Zillon headed for his car with Celeste’s hand held tight in his, they headed in the opposite direction.

Zillon parked in front of his house, stepping out of the vehicle. The drive had been silent, he didn’t want to disturb Celeste since she seemed so deep in thought, but now her silence was getting too much.

From outside, he watched as she pushed her door open and slowly stepped out of the car. Zillon sighed. “Celeste…are you okay?”

Celeste looked over at him, shoving the door closed. “Yes.”

“Sure…?”

Celeste nodded. “It’s just…it’s just…it’s nothing. Can we go inside?”

Zillon sighed again, but nevertheless, he acquiesced. He walked her inside, taking her straight up to his bedroom. “You look tired, why don’t you rest? I’ll wake you up in the evening when it’s time for me to go.”

“I don’t feel sleepy…I feel sad, I feel…” She sighed. “I shouldn’t have defended him, I should’ve listened to you and stayed home…it seems my stubbornness is only focused on hurting me more.”

She took a seat on the bed, eyes fixated on her lap. “I’m sorry for not believing you.”

“That’s okay, I don’t blame you…the only thing you should be sorry for now is telling another man you love them Infront of me.” He took a seat beside her on the bed, ensuring skin contact. “But I don’t expect an apology for that either…it might hurt, but I understand.”

His finger slithered it’s way beneath her chin, lifting her head and turning it to face him. “And I don’t want you stressing about this too much, you’re pregnant, you’re more vulnerable to everything now. I don’t want anything to happen to you or the babies, do you understand?”

Celeste nodded. “I understand but I can’t help but worry about you. What you’re doing is dangerous, you won’t have back up…what if you get ambushed? What if something happens? I don’t want you to go, but that would be selfish…”

“I’ll be alright, I’ll come back safe no matter what, especially since I’m positive that you’ll be waiting for me. If I don’t get this problem solved, I won’t be able to ensure your protection, I won’t be able to let you step foot outside alone. As Xavier said, you’re my weakness…if you get taken down, I’ll be taken down too.”

“I know and I’m sorry about that…”

“You’re always sorry about something, even when you shouldn’t be.” He leaned in, laying a k**s on her forehead. “But don’t be sorry because I love you too, it’s not your fault that my heart beats for you…it’s solely mine.”

He smiled down at her. “I know you said you aren’t sleepy, but rest…you deserve sleep after all that went on today.”

“Then at least…at least k**s me properly first.” She gripped at his shoulder, pulling him down to her level before catching his lips between hers. After such a long day, she didn’t need rest, she needed him by her side…

The skin contact…

The conversations they’d have before bed…

She needed that right now…not sleep.

Gripping his shoulders tighter, she kissed him deeply, passionately, enjoying the moment until she had to pull away to catch her breath. “Will you lay with me?”

Zillon nodded. “As long as you want me to.”

“I want you to…” She laid back against the soft mattress and Zillon didn’t hesitate to lay down beside her. His arm extended to embrace her, pulling her flush against his chest.

“You know that I love you, right?”

Celeste nodded. “I love you too…”

“Then have faith in me, don’t worry…even on my road to death I’ll make sure to say goodbye to you first.”

“Don’t say that…you won’t ever get close to dying and promise me that if it really wasn’t Xavier who ordered the attack, you’ll let him go…he said he wanted to be free, he said he was in pain and according to what he said, I can understand why.”

“I promise…now sleep Kitten.”
