The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 119 Book 2 Chapter 51

Zillon skidded to a stop beside Fredd and Liam who hovered over John. He really did lose a lot of b***d, and even though Fredd’s hand was putting pressure on his neck, the b***d still ran immensely. Zillon knew what that meant, his vein was damaged, he wouldn’t be able to survive unless they got him back to the pack doctor, but they wouldn’t make it, he’d die before they got there…he was sure of it…

Like Fredd and Liam, he transformed back into his human form, ignoring the rogues that were crouched behind him. He was already dead anyway, if they didn’t kill him, then the alpha king would. “I’m sorry John…I shouldn’t have brought you into this. I didn’t know it was this serious…I didn’t kno—”

John’s mouth opened and closed as if he was trying to speak, but only incomprehensible sounds came forth. He reached for Zillon and Zillon leaned closer to him. “It’s alright, I’m sure you did your best.”

“He…He…w-was wearing a r-royal coat…too…took me down with h-h-his bare hands e-even be…before I could access the l-link.”

Zillon’s eyes widened, his heart pounding even harder.

“What does he mean by a royal coat?”

Zillon turned to Fredd. “It means that we’re being attacked by the royal family…they declared war…the sign is in the very centre of the forest. We’re going to die.”

“What…?”

“War…we’re in a war we have no hope of winning.”

Liam’s expression changed all together, his eyes holding the same fear as Zillon’s. “How? Who did we ever offend? This makes absolutely no sense.”

John’s mouth opened and closed again, but nothing came out, nothing but his last breath…his eyes weren’t blinking anymore…his heart not beating, he was dead…Zillon yet again lost another pack member.

He wanted to howl the lost of his own, but he was too scared to, that’d probably encourage the king’s men to kill more. This was war and wars were ruthless, they wouldn’t care who they killed, women, men, children…all would die if he couldn’t protect them.

He had to do something, he was alpha, he had a mate, he had a pack, he had to protect them, no matter what. There was no time for him to be scared, he came out here to replace, question then slaughter who were killing his pack members and that’s just what he needed to do, regardless of who they were.

This was his territory and they came here audaciously declaring a war he did nothing to be apart of. He had to show them that he wasn’t scared, even if he was, he had to show them that they weren’t the only strong ones, he was strong too.

Raising to his feet, he looked towards Liam and Fredd who had a look of horror all over their face. “Get up…you’re a beta, you’re a gamma…what are you doing? Wallowing in fear? We lost another pack member, six more are lined out in the middle of the forest, isn’t that enough drive to kill them? They came here looking for trouble, we have to give it back to them. We can’t cower, they’ll step all over us… they’re strong, we’re strong too, get up.”

Liam looked up at Zillon. “You know we have no hope of winning…one look from him could have all our fighters taking his side. He rules over all Zillon. He has the skill to command whoever he wants, including us.”

“I don’t care, don’t you want to protect our pack? There’s always something called die trying.”

“I don’t want to d—”

Fredd moved his bloody hand away from John’s neck, standing to his feet. “I think Zillon is right. If we don’t fight back, this will happen every night. They’ll continue to massacre our pack until there’s no one left to kill. This is war Liam, our parents experienced it before, it’s our time now. Get up, you can’t run away from your job, you’re a beta, protect the pack you rule over.”

It took him a minute, but Liam stood up on his feet eventually. “I guess I’ll have to forge my faith, mend my broken hope because what other choice do I have? I’m a beta and I wouldn’t want to see you guys dying because of my incompetence.” He scratched his arm, taking a step forward. “Wolf form, right?”

Zillon nodded. “Just like before, we’re keeping the link open. We won’t split up, that’s too dangerous and these rogues…I wish I could replace safety for the pregnant one, but it’s too dangerous to send her to the pack house on her own.”

“Should we attack on spot?”

Zillon nodded, “We’ll be close by anyway, come on, let’s go.”

All three transformed back into their wolf forms and sped off into the forest insearch of their enemies, but unsurprisingly, the night ended with them being empty handed. As soon the sun came up, they visited the centre of the forest, accessing the sign again.

The bodies were still not able to be scented and beneath them was a small carving in the tough earth made with claws.

’04/17′

It seems the declaration was set to come to pass in three days.

In those three days, they needed to prepare, the children needs to be hidden in a safe house, the helpless women needs to go there too and what would he do with Celia and Xavier?

Would he leave them in a cage not knowing if he’ll live long enough to set them free?

Zillon was so confused, he honestly didn’t know what the f*ck to do.
