The Alpha's Unwanted Mate
The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 120 Book 2 Chapter 52

Zillon started his walk back to his parent’s house, naked and dirty. He was tired and stressed out. Last night he had told the pack that he’d protect them no matter what and now he doubt he could.

He was even considering negotiating with the enemy, but that would damage his pride too much. He had to fight back…but how?

John was the Pack’s best man and if they could take him down bare handed while he was in his wolf form, then they could do the same to every other warrior in the pack.

Sure the Forrester pack came second to the alpha king’s, but it was nothing incomparable to theirs.

Sighing, he ran a hand through his hair, his eyes fluttering to the left when he heard footsteps.

An elder…the same one who told him about Celeste’s heat approached him, his staff in his hand. “Greetings Alpha…”

Zillon bowed his head and continued on his way, only stopping when the man spoke again.

“Chaos is on its way, she’ll die because of you…a white wolf, fur purer than the heavens. This war will taint her in b***d…from white to red.”

Zillon turned to stare at him. “What?”

“The royals are going to slaughter everyone…b***d, a massacre…tell your father to seek retribution for his deeds before it’s too late…”

He started walking again, his back turned to Zillon and yet he continued to hum. “From white to red…a blessing to a curse…to save is to die. From white to red…a blessing to a curse…to save is to die. From white to red…a blessing to a…”

“Hey wait…what do you mean? What are you saying?”

The man continued to walk, his gray hair swaying along with the wind as his staff dug deeper into the forest. Zillon was curious, he wanted to ask more, but he knew that elders could not prophecy everything. They got piece of the future and the rest they were completely unaware of.

A white wolf turned to red…

A blessing to a curse…

To save is to die…

Zillon didn’t understand sh*t, but he knew Celeste’s fur was white and as fluffy as clouds. If it were suppose to turn to red, did he mean it’d be painted by b***d?

Zillon didn’t stand up long enough to contemplate it and instead of walking, he ran his way to his parent’s house, reaching even before he knew it.

He twisted the knob, then knocked when he realized the door was locked. “Mom!”

His impatience was high, he kept knocking until finally the door was pushed open and his dad stood before the now open space. “Zillon..?”

“Where’s Celeste?”

“She’s inside, she’s s—”

Zillon did not wait for him to finish, he pushed pass his father on his way inside, and didn’t even glance at his mother in the living room as he headed for the stairs.

He climbed up them two at a time, opening up his room door in which he knew for a fact Celeste resided in. There on the bed she laid as beautiful as ever, eyes closed, breaths even as she slept.

He walked further inside the room, turning to look at his mom when she too came in. “She hollered all night. She was in heat, calling your name with every breath she took. I had to stay with her until she fell asleep. She cried so much…”

“Heat…? She isn’t suppose to be in heat, she’s pregnant mother.”

“I know, she happily told me the moment she settled in. It must’ve been triggered by her worry for you. You shouldn’t have told her anything, it’ll only stress her out more. Next time, tell her you’re going for a drink or something.”

Zillon ran a hand of frustration through his hair… “The elders got a prophecy today, well not all of them, just one. He said white fur would turn to red, a blessing to a curse and to save is to die. He was talking about Celeste, I’m sure of it and I swear to god my head is swelling. Everything is going downhill, I finally found out who’s been killing off my pack members and it’s not at all good.”

“Who is it?”

“The royals mom, they declared war and I honestly don’t know what to do.”

“What?” The colour from his mom’s face drained, leaving it pale. “The royals?”

“The elder said they’d massacre our pack, he said something about dad…something about redeeming himself before it’s too late. Did something happen between him and the—”

“That elder is a fraud, don’t listen to him.”

Zillon turned to stare at his dad who stood by the doorway. “He’s not, he was chanting it, he kept saying it over and over ag—”

“I said he’s a fraud don’t listen to him. Not everything the elders prophecy is true, they’re wrong sometimes and this is one of those times.”

He pivoted on his feet and headed back down the hall and mom followed him. Zillon didn’t bother to give them anymore of his attention, instead he walked over to Celeste, sitting beside her on the edge of the bed.

He sighed as he swiped her hair out of her face, hoping to god that what the elder said was really wrong.

There wouldn’t be a massacre, there wouldn’t be a lot of b***d and even if there is, then Celeste’s beautiful white fur wouldn’t be tainted by it.

He leaned closer, placing a k**s on her forehead and when he pulled back, he was surprised to see her eyes open. She grabbed his hand, holding tight to it. “Your dad…” She whispered out.

“My dad?”

“He’s the cause of this, the letter…it said…it said…”
